Grand Hotel Salerno

The hotel itself on the outside & in the main lobby look nice. The rooms were clean & spacious but there was NO HOT WATER to shower!!! There was barely enough water to shower & whatever There was was ice cold! The breakfast was completely blah. Boiled eggs only. Slics bread only. No meat other than coldcuts. The town itself is rundown & dirty. I would not recommend staying here.

Careful with this hotel: they claim to have a Sea View, but half of the hotel actually faces a parking lot with "a far away view of the sea" so don't get fooled when paying the extra fee.

Also, cold water, distasteful breakfast, broken elevators, and light issues + malfunctioning plugs in the bedrooms.

I won't come back I'm afraid.

My mobile was stolen inside the Hotel most probably in the Lobby. There was not only no help, but also they claimed that there were no Video surveillance just after I was at the Carabinieri they changed version. The whole Hotel is like an old unpersonal bunker the lobby reminds more a waiting hall of a train station. The housekeeping was gentle as well the waitresses at the breakfast- but I would never ever recommend this Hotel!

This hotel relies soley on its sea front location, however it is located outside of the city center, so plan for long walks or taxis into town for meals drinks and outings. The rooms are spacious, but in major need of cleaning and repairs. The staff on the first day were rude and dismissive of questions and truly unhelpful, with the exception of one man working around 11pm, who actually seemed to care for the guests.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel, and certainly not worth the cost.

Located in the heart of nowhere, zero restaurants open before 7pm within walking distance. A/C barely keeps up and the A/C is on a 45 minute timer then it automatically shuts off. Beds already had hair on them. The "free wifi" yeah. It's only available in the lobby according to the front desk when I asked why I couldn't connect in my room.. The pool in the photos and that Thier listing says they have, yeah that doesn't exist either when we asked the desk where it was. lobby is loud because of the convention center so if you need the wifi for anything other than finding another hotel it's pretty useless. The exterior indicates the major lack of maintenance, broken windows, with tiles falling off the facade and the trash and graffiti covering what I assume was the front of the building facing the main street. If the lack of maintenance and stingy A/C policy is an indication I'm pretty sure they cut corners on washing the bedding and towels, the hair was a dead giveaway. It's basically an Italian motel 6 with a puzzle of broken marble. 100% false and misleading hotel. RUN?!

No English TV news channels, US or UK. Vending machine doesn't work on floor of rooms with empty minibars. Rooms are tired looking and beds not comfortable. WiFi is rubbish.
