La Malandrina in Taormina

First of all, I don't know why this hotel has such a high rating.
First, this hotel is not a hotel in the strict sense, and there is no 24-hour front desk (which caused us a lot of inconvenience later)
Second, we booked the most expensive room type in this hotel, but it is very far from the sea and the volcano! It is on the mountain! It is very inconvenient to go to the beach or any check-in point, and it takes a long time to drive a winding mountain road to get there! In our opinion, the sea view and volcano view are completely gimmicks.
Third, there was a sudden power outage at 11 o'clock in the evening. We didn't have time to wash up, and we called the staff on WhatsApp and sent messages for a long time without receiving a reply! It was only after 2 hours, at more than 1 o'clock in the morning, that we received a reply, and it was after the water and electricity were restored to normal. We waited for a long time in vain, and all our electronic devices needed electricity, but unfortunately we spent this night in a very worried and bad mood, which undoubtedly affected the mood of the trip. Although the hotel can check in early and provide champagne service upon request, I don't think this is what the staff let us recall as a "benefit" on WhatsApp. The power outage and water outage are not your fault, but I think your attitude is not very sincere, just superficial. No matter what you say, you should know it in your heart. To be honest, I didn't see the hotel's symbolic compensation for such a long power outage, because it really affected our mood at the time. But anyway, this hotel is not recommended. If you have a car and you don't have high requirements for sea views and volcano views, if you don't want to go to the beach and can get there quickly, you can book this hotel.
