Hotel Montecarlo in Venice

This Hotel is located perfectly next to St. Marks Square, easy to walk to and from any where. The hotel is clean and overall I had a good experience here. The only thing is the shadiness of works who come in and out of the rooms whenever they want. The keys have to be left with front desk every time you leave the hotel. I went downstairs one evening and left some items out like a $200 camera and other articles of material, had a DO NOT DISTURB sign on door and someone went in and stole my camera. We noticed after we came back from dinner that they also filled out fridge with new water so that how we know someone came into out room. I reported the incident to the hotel manager and he shrugged it off and said he does not employ workers who steal. Thats fantastic but nonetheless someone entered the room when we asked them not to and removed an item. You might say why was the camera not in a safe, well hotel doesn't have safes in room and we just went down to dinner in the hotel restaurant, left an appropriate signage on door for privacy, and who fills hotel fridge with new waters late evenings? Having the camera stolen in a hotel was horrible, but not has bad as losing the images that were on it. They could have left the flash disc. After the lack of care by management, I will never stay here again.
