Europa Hotel in Sliema

Warning – Do not book!
None of the positive reviews here can be true. This place is an absolute disaster.
If you still decide to book, it’s your own fault – your holiday will be ruined.
The few hotel guests around are either rude or unhygienic. The staff is unfriendly. The entire hotel smells terrible and is extremely dirty. There are bugs crawling on the floor and on the bed.
The room smells so bad, it’s barely bearable. There were multiple complaints.
Also, the photos of the hotel online must be fake – they have absolutely nothing to do with reality.
Do not book! Don’t even think about it. Just trust me.

A decent location. The room wasn't too bad.
But the breakfast was the worst hotel breakfast I've ever experienced!

In addition, there were several Italian school classes at the hotel, who played in the elevator, Filled the foyer so other guests felt bothered. The staff and management did nothing about this.

Most of the staff were helpful, but a few should retire. Or get a job as a parking attendant.

I stayed in december and for a 2 star hotel it was pretty basic like expected, clean, tidy, working shower, comfy bed, basic breakfast and great location, however for what i paid to stay for 7 nights, it would of been nice to have friendlier reception staff, on arrivial i was told i was too early & to go away until 3pm, i came back just before and was told i told you to come back after 3pm not before! There was no tea/coffee facilities, when i asked i got a blunt reply kitchen is closed, a kettle in the room would of been nice. I knew i'd booked an economy room so no view which was fine but there was an adjoining door to the next room which was noisey & i could hear everything and was woken a few times by the people in there trying to open the door and being on the 5th floor the wifi didn't work at all & sometimes the room was quite cold and the a/c until didn't work when you put it on heater. If i hadn't paid double what is normally charged for this hotel i would leave more stars with my only complaint being the adjoining door in the room.Would i stay here again probably not. Big shout to the cleaning staff tho, very friendly, always happy to help.
