Kacha Resort & Spa, Koh Chang - SHA Extra Plus

Arrived to hotel, check-in was ok, but first room we got, had horrible smell (damp and moldy). Roof fan didn't work either. Second room, smell was even worse. Third room was okay and stayed there then. Air conditioning was very loud.
Luckily staff was helpful and understanding with the rooms. Breakfast okay, nothing special.

Good location and nice pool. However, the hotel needs a renovation - would give 2.5/5 if I could. Some of the furniture is worn down, shower joints are black and moldy, the glass door to enter the shower needs some deep cleaning. Also some of the advertised amenities (like a hot iron) are not available - not even on request. Upon checkout staff was not interested in any feedback. No hotel shuttle service to the pier, we had to wait for over an hour to get a transportation.

Overall they are friendly though - especially at the restaurant which is pretty decent. For the value offered it’s overpriced. There are better places on this island.

Rooms need updating, had an issue upon checking in with the sliding door not closing, was repaired but still not able to lock door sometimes. Shower door wouldn't close properly so water got out of the shower and soaked the floor. Air con was very noisy at full! Items at breakfast not replenished often enough, had to keep asking for cutlery and especially equal the sweetener.

Upon check in Kai was rude about the sliding door not closing, had asked to change room but was told none available and would have to pay an extra 300baht per night as the only room available was more expensive! Kai was rude upon check out, I should have got 10% of food bill however Kai told me I should of told waiter at time of ordering food rather than on checking out. Kai did not discount my bill.

Towels were very old and really need updating, this goes for the towels provided at pool as well as in the room every morning.

Overall very good location, breakfast was good and a great view. Pool was good and always kept clean. Slept very well as bed was comfortable.

Wouldn't stay again as Kai just didn't care about the guests, all other staff were very polite, helpful and always smiling. Didn't see Kai smile once!
