Andaman Beach Suites Hotel - SHA Extra Plus

To be honest, not quite sure how the hotel is rated a 4 star hotel.

We had to be shown multiple rooms before we decided on the third room.

1st room: We found bugs coming from under the mattress and the room felt very musty
2nd room: There was a water spill on the floor due to the ice that melted in the fridge, and behind the fridge was some mold

In all rooms shown, there was a strong smell of some sort of an air freshener, which would normally make sense but so strong that it felt they were covering up a lingering, musty smell.

Though we settled on the third room, we still had bugs come out from behind the TV console and had to use our own bug spray every day. (This seems to happen due to the high humidity and the room not being kept cold enough)

The above observations definitely made us feel a little un-welcomed from the cleanliness perspective. I did ask for a refund after we were shown the first and second rooms, but they wouldn’t budge and kept offering other rooms in which we accepted one of the options but only because they wouldn’t give us a refund.

Additionally, the rooms are in need of major renovations. The furniture and the other interiors especially the bathroom are very outdated for a 4 star hotel.

On the positive side, the staff is super friendly, the view from the main building is stunning, the pools are nice, and the breakfast offers many options. I did appreciate their effort to make things right, but all shown options were really sub-par.

Saying the hotel have a game room is misleading. You need to pay to use the equipments, and you need to use 10 BATH coins….to play a snooker game you need 8 coins that they don’t provide, so you need to find someone outside to exchange for you. I’m here in a raining day and I choose the hotel because of the facilities….the only way I can use the game room going outside under the rain to find these coins. HA!

It was horrible, we booked 4 rooms and each had a new problem everyday. WiFi was slow, bathroom shatafa exploded, bathroom lights stoped working, all 4 of the bathrooms had a stinky egg smell before we even used it and the shatafa water was so strong it would hurt when we would use it. The bedroom had stains and not nice interior as well. At night u could heat Music and parties from ur room. Very disappointed.

Everything was perfect until the last day during check out. They charge me for thr bedroom slippers.I told them that usually bedroom slippers are complimentary. I told them I already used them once and since it is still in good condition, I decided to bring the slippers home (They also provide beachslippers so we have been using the beach slippers everyday) I told them what will they do if I return the slippers cos it is already used and of no use to them.
They said they will wash and recycle the bedroom slippers. This is really unheard of. They wash the bedroom slippers and recycle?? OMG.They asked me to return the slippers or I will be charged,Thb120 for each pair.
Bad experience

This is the second time I stay at the hotel, but I think it will be the last. I was there and it was the same. I thought it would improve. The breakfast options are very limited. You only have to eat eggs and cucumbers. The breakfast area smells like glasses. You can't drink from them because of the smell. There is no air conditioning in the place. It is very hot. The cleaning service is the worst I have ever seen. They just go in and clean up what is on the floor. If there is a bottle under the chair, they don't pick it up. I stayed for six days and they didn't change my bed sheets even though I asked them to. The bathroom cleaning is poor. When I came to use the bathtub, the water came out yellow. Even the receptionists are unfriendly and don't even respond to my greeting, unlike the people of Thailand.
