Review for Nonze Hostel Pattaya – Look Elsewhere for a Comfortable Stay

Let me be very clear: this is not a hostel, it’s a paid jail. If I had known what I was walking into, I wouldn’t have booked this place, not even in my worst dreams or tightest budget situations.

The only positive aspect of Nonze Hostel is its location just 100 meters from the beach. Beyond that, my experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. Here’s what potential guests should know before booking:
1. Unrealistic Noise Restrictions
This hostel enforces an unreasonably strict silence policy. You are expected not to talk or even speak at normal volume, which is absurd for a place that markets itself as a hostel.
2. Insecure Storage and Poor Space Design
The personal cabinet/bed area has no proper locking system. The staff simply point to CCTV as their security measure. You can't safely store your luggage, and if you attempt to place it in the cabinet, there’s no space left for you to sleep.
3. Unhelpful and Uncooperative Staff
The staff are extremely unresponsive and unwilling to assist. Even basic queries or requests are met with indifference.
4. No Kitchen Facilities
This hostel does not provide a kitchen or any communal cooking area. Without this facility, it hardly qualifies as a proper hostel.
5. Cramped and Claustrophobic Sleeping Pods
The so-called cabinet or sleeping pod resembles a small prison cell cramped, uncomfortable, and poorly ventilated. I’ll be attaching photos to give you a clear idea.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a sociable, secure, and comfortable stay in Pattaya, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The beach access alone is not worth compromising your comfort and peace of mind.

No matter how tight your budget is, comfort and convenience at the end of the day matter. Unfortunately, this place fails spectacularly on that front, offering only a long list of rules and a frustrating stay.
Save yourself the regret, book anywhere else.

I stayed at this hostel over the weekend, and my experience was less than ideal. It’s unfortunate, because the location and private capsules had potential, but the lack of proper security, poor response from staff, and inadequate amenities overshadowed any positives.

Here are the pros and cons I encountered during my stay:

Pros
- Location: The hostel is conveniently located across the road from the beach, and Central Pattaya is within walking distance. If you enjoy nightlife, Pattaya Walking Street is nearby, and there are plenty of bars and entertainment options. However, be mindful that there are also many prostitutes around the area.
- Private Capsules: The sleeping capsules offer a decent level of privacy, which is a plus if you’re looking for some personal space in a shared dorm setting. Could have the curtain cover the holes on the slide door tho.
- Mattress and blanket is soft and comfy.
- The sea view from my capsule is stunning.

Cons:
- Safety: My biggest issue was safety. I was harassed by an Indian male guest, which led me to check out earlier than planned. When I reported the incident to the receptionist. He dismissed my complaint, saying that because it’s a hostel not a hotel so this kind of things can happen.
- Lack of Support from Reception: I was also told the receptionist would be at the lobby all the time, but when I returned after packing my bags, there was no one there. I was forced to check out on my own. Imagine if something had happened to me or other guests during this time.
- No Female Dorms: There were no dedicated female dorms, which I feel is a must for safety and comfort, especially in a mixed-gender environment.
- Bathroom Facilities: The bathrooms should be separated for more privacy, and the overall cleanliness and organization were lacking.
