Katathong Golf Resort & Spa in Phang Nga

Amazing location , good restaurant with reasonable prices , excellent picturesque golf course in pristine condition and a nice spa at the hotel too . Highly recommend

I have stayed for 1 day only, its a bit from phuket but located at such a quite area. Nearby there was waterfall and Budda statue, can easy be driven by car. If you play golf, perfect place. If you want to relax, great place too. If you want to be far from other people, just book cottage type room. They have room service, buggy service from room to reception. Even some free activities as well. I have visited spa, staff at reception have poor English skills, however my therapist spoken good English and made very relaxing massage, enjoyed it.

Katathong is one of my personal favourites. It’s not the closest course to Phuket, but that distance gives it a completely different atmosphere — quiet, green, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The hotel is lovely, and spending one night there makes the whole experience even better.

The golf course is spectacular and feels special from the first tee. I always suggest the course to Fairways of Eden golfers. It's not easy to convince them due to the distance to Phuket, but everyone who really went there was more than happy about it 🙏

Perfect holiday retreat destination!!! Challenging golf course, great spa services and food is delicious too.
Most importantly, all the staff are very welcoming.

One point regarding the dog:

Under bungalow 1106, a completely emaciated female dog has given birth to puppies. The mother is desperately searching for something to eat.

In general, dogs in Thailand are doing quite well — at least those that have been accepted and found their place. I know it’s difficult to get the stray dog problem under control across the whole country, but at least here, in this peaceful and well-kept place, it would be wonderful if, with so many gardeners and so much effort put into maintaining a perfect resort, such a suffering animal wouldn’t be overlooked.

The solution?
Have the stray dogs in the area neutered, so that no more dogs are born without a home, forced to fight for survival.

I hope they won’t simply get rid of the dogs — it would be nice if someone asked about them and made sure they’re okay.

We just wrapped up a magical 4-night stay at Katathong Golf Resort in Phang Nga, and words barely do justice to this gem of a property. From the moment we arrived, everything about this place screamed 5-star perfection – think stunning tropical surroundings, impeccable accommodations, a championship golf course that dreams are made of, and staff who treat you like family. If you’re seeking a blend of relaxation, adventure, and indulgence, look no further. This resort exceeded every expectation and left us already plotting our return.

Let’s start with the accommodations, because they truly set the bar high. We spent a couple nights in both Golfers Villa and upgraded to Superior Double.

These villas are perched right on the edge of the golf course, 5min walk to the main hotel building - but offering direct access to the fairways while maintaining total privacy. Inside, it’s all about upscale living: living areas with smart TVs with en-suite bathrooms. The outdoor terrace overlooking the pool – ideal for sunset cocktails or Chang’s. If golf is your passion, this villa setup turns your stay into a seamless extension of the course itself.

We then upgraded to the Superior Double overlooking the main pool at the hotel, which overlooks the golf course. The room itself is spacious and elegantly designed with modern Thai touches – think sleek wooden accents, plush king-sized bedding that invites lazy mornings, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the lush gardens and distant hills.The pool is stunning, it’s the perfect size for a refreshing dip after a day on the course, complete with shaded loungers and ambient lighting for evening soaks. The attention to detail, like the high-thread-count linens and rainfall shower stocked with premium amenities, made it feel like a high-end boutique hotel rather than a resort room. Spotless, serene, and supremely comfortable – we slept like royalty every night.

The championship golf course itself looked spectacular but unfortunately to recent arm surgery I was unable to play.

But what truly elevated our experience – and turned a great stay into an unforgettable one – was the staff. Every single team member we encountered was amazing, going above and beyond with genuine warmth and efficiency. The reception staff deserves a special shoutout; they were an absolute dream during our entire 4 nights. From the warm welcome at check-in.

Dining was another highlight, with the resort’s restaurants serving up high-quality food that rivals any fine-dining spot in Phuket. The flavors were fresh, inventive, and beautifully presented, using local ingredients with a sophisticated twist. We devoured the spring rolls as a starter – crispy on the outside, stuffed with veggies, and dipped in a zesty tamarind sauce that had us licking our fingers. For mains, the carbonara was a creamy, indulgent revelation: house-made pasta twirled with pancetta, pecorino, and just the right eggy richness, far surpassing what you’d get in many city eateries. And the salmon? Pan-seared to flaky perfection, served with a light herb crust and citrus beurre blanc – it was melt-in-your-mouth divine, highlighting the resort’s commitment to sustainable seafood.

None of this would have shone as brightly without the amazingly kind service from น้องเปรม and พี่ศศิ (Prem and Sasi, for the non-Thai speakers). These two were our dining superstars throughout the stay, always with infectious energy and that rare ability to make you feel truly cared for.

In summary, Katathong Golf Resort is a 5-star sanctuary that nails the balance of luxury, leisure, and local charm. We arrived as guests and departed as converts. Book this place; you won’t regret it. 10/10, would (and will) return!

Beautiful place and the golf course is in very good condition.

Our stay was a pleasant surprise with excellent value for money. The hotel is beautiful and offers spectacular views from everywhere. I recommend contacting directly with the hotel to get promotions; we chose a Stay and Play package and got a room with pool access, which I highly recommend.

The golf course is well-maintained and beautiful. My son took a golf lesson that was ok for the price. Besides golf, we enjoyed free activities like pedaling a boat on the lake and biking to visit a Buddha statue, a banyan tree, and some waterfalls.

The spa was a great find: it’s beautiful, reasonably priced, and the massage with Kit was one of the best I’ve ever had—simply spectacular. I highly recommend booking a treatment with her!
