I forgot to write this! We stayed at La Vela from 17th October 2025 to 30th October 2025. Our flight was Emirates from Manchester - Dubai - Phuket. The hotel was amazing. Many pools to choose from. Kokulo beach club is on the main sea front and serves cocktails and meals which are very good. Hotel receptionist Pang was very kind enough to take my photos on the viewpoint area so if she could read this I would be very appreciative!! :) all the staff in the hotel were very friendly. Food was good in the breakfast area too, lot of different cuisine ranging from traditionally western dishes to more eastern Asian cuisine. I think we stayed in room 3342 and it was amazing too. The balcony area was really nice, very spacious and the cleaners were very proactive in being efficient. One of the best hotels/holidays I’ve been on so far.

The hotel lobby is quite small and has no shelter, so when it rains, guests can easily get wet. The parking area is far from the main building. Check-in took a long time — our group had 7 rooms, and it took almost 30 minutes to complete. However, the reception staff were polite, attentive, and helpful throughout the process.
There was an issue with one of our room reservations — due to a booking mistake by the staff, we were given a lower-grade room on the first night. The next day, the hotel upgraded us to a better room as compensation, which was a nice gesture.
The rooms were clean and tidy. However, even though the hotel states that smoking is prohibited in the rooms and public areas, smoking is allowed on the room balconies. This was unpleasant because we could smell cigarette smoke while swimming. When we asked the hotel about it, they confirmed that smoking on balconies is allowed.
Breakfast had a wide variety of options, but the taste was rather disappointing. The noodle soup was undercooked, and there were few Thai dishes available — perhaps because it was during the Vegetarian Festival.
The hotel does have many beautiful photo spots, which is a plus. However, some rooms had minor issues, such as bathroom doors that didn’t close properly. There was also no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the TVs weren’t connected to the internet.
Overall, the stay was okay — the service was good and the hotel looked nice, but there’s still room for improvement in facilities, food, and room amenities.

We stayed at La Vela Resort in a Sea View Deluxe Room on level 3. The view wasn’t quite what was shown in the website photos — only the top floor offers panoramic views. However, everything else about the resort was excellent!
The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained, with several pools — some exclusively for adults, which made it perfect for relaxing in peace. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with so many options to choose from! The room had a huge bath on the balcony (not a spa), comfortable beds, and a great shower with three different settings — almost like a spa experience. The TV is smart but not HD, which would’ve been a nice touch.
What really made our stay special was the friendly and helpful staff, especially Amp, Jane (the lovely Filipino girl — I hope I spelled your name right!), and Mae, our cleaner. They truly made us feel welcome.

La Vela Khao Lak is one of the best resorts I’ve ever visited. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help — from check-in to breakfast service, everything was smooth and professional.
The location is perfect, right on Bang Niang Beach, with lots of restaurants, massage shops, and cafes within walking distance. The swimming pools are stunning, especially during sunset. It’s a great place to relax and unwind.
Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with a great atmosphere — perfect for both couples and families. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Khao Lak!

The hotel itself is nice and the breakfast in the restaurant is good — but that’s where the positives end. For a 4.5-star hotel, it feels more like 3 stars.
Our first room was not properly cleaned: the mirror had strange stains, and we had to change rooms. The new room was even worse — still stains on the mirror, a broken bathroom light (night mode), and a faulty sliding partition that wouldn’t close properly. Housekeeping was disappointing: when we checked the new room, there was a bottle cap on the shelf, and after cleaning it was still there. Used spoons disappeared, and towels were old, torn, and worn out. A guest even said they were told they’d have to wait *two hours* for clean shower towels because there were none available. That’s unacceptable for a 4.5-star hotel.
The “breakfast to go” is another big issue. The box includes a dry hot dog (no sauce or butter), two tiny croissants, a boiled egg, fruit, juice, and soy milk — hardly a proper breakfast. We asked for a bit more (extra hot dog and juice), but got even less the next time. When we asked to prepare our own box from the buffet since breakfast was included, reception refused, saying guests aren’t allowed to pack their own food.
Our friends with *all inclusive* faced the same issue. They requested changes in advance, but their wishes were ignored and their breakfast box ended up in the trash because it was inedible.
“All inclusive” is very limited: lunch and dinner are not buffet-style but à la carte from a small menu. After a week it becomes repetitive — definitely not worth the €1500 extra. Even basic things like coffee with syrup or ice cream are *not included*.
Staff are friendly and always smiling, but problems are never solved. For several nights, people were shouting and slamming doors at 2–3 a.m. We reported it, but nothing changed.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant offers a buffet with lobster and seafood, but it’s not included in any plan and costs around €50 per person. Paying extra wouldn’t be an issue, but the restaurant becomes overcrowded, and guests with half board or all inclusive can’t even get a table.
In summary: friendly staff, nice building, and good breakfast in the restaurant — but serious issues with cleanliness, housekeeping, and service quality. Definitely not on the level of a 4.5-star hotel.

Very modern hotel, but room cleanliness, room facilities and management need to improve. We stayed in room 3526, the room was not clean, floor is sandy and sticky. Bathtub is not working, bathroom door can’t close properly, that cause the water to splash all over the place when taking shower. And due to the overwhelming dinner buffet on the 13th Apr, the management can’t handle the crowd. Don’t worth the price. Too expensive for this hotel.

My wife and I had a great 3-night stay here.
From the moment we arrived, all the staff here were nothing short of excellent, all very friendly, helpful and happy to have a chat!
The room was very comfortable and clean with a huge bed, spacious room and nice large balcony.
The resort grounds and pools are very picturesque and immaculately maintained, the pool with the bar was naturally our favourite and was a great place to spend an afternoon.
A highlight here was the beach club and restaurant – the food and cocktails were great and the service was top notch.
Looking forward to coming back!

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings with friendly staff. Downside is the location unless you have a car. Plus the amount of construction taking place in the area was off putting.
