Khaolak Bayfront Resort

Great place. Beautiful pools and amazing beachfront resort. Unfortunately the staff at the restaurant is not very friendly. The chef in the morning never smiles and one of the server is not so kind. We booked this place for 4 nights and it comes with free breakfast, I told the front desk when I was booking that my husband and I are vegan. Can they make us vegan breakfast? The lady at the front desk was very kind and said no problem. Just tell the waiter to tell the chef. However, when times come. I told the waiter if he could please ask the kitchen to make me a stir fry vegetable with no meat and no fish sauce please? He went away for about 5 minutes and he told me “if that’s what the front desk tell you that’s fine but the chef will not do it. Go eat salad and fruits. And go back and talk to the front desk” I felt so embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable. We finished eating and the whole time I felt like he was talking about us in his native tongue. Later on I told the front desk and a few minutes later the resort’ manager called us and apologized and told us that they will do better. The very next day that same waiter just walked right up to us and said what do you want? We will make it. But his facial expression tells me something else. I told him I don’t want anything and he walked away. At the same time that chef was staring at us in a very unfriendly way. It makes us feel very uncomfortable. We have been traveling in Thailand for 23 days and this is the very first negative experience that we have encountered. I feel very uncomfortable eating there. Everything else was wonderful. Very clean room. If you want to go eat outside, it takes about 20 minutes walk to plenty of amazing restaurants. This resort is located on a beautiful beacho that you can walk on with amazing swimming pools. You want to come here but don’t ask for any from the kitchen. They will make you feel very uncomfortable.

Everything was exceptional from the staff to the food and the minor detail. Well done
