Reviews
Staff: Mixed feelings. Most of them were just doing their job, had a neutral tone, and looked to me very tired. I know where this comes from - same people are serving at the bars, taking away the dishes, and cleaning the floors. I don't have anything special to say about them.
Rooms: we got the bad luck to be placed in the 6120 room. Smaller than expected, no light bulb, curtains always pulled on, since everyone from the lobby terrace can see what is in your room, and what's happening there. If you are given this room, try to change it. It was an economy room, sold as standard land view.
Cleaning: they took the garbage every day and supply the room with water and soap also on a daily bases, but real cleaning happens once in three days. (i.e. wiping the floor, cleaning the dust, sand, in the room, perfuming it a bit, changing the towels - real cleaning).
Food: For me, it was okay. Fruits, rice, fries, beef, wraps, pide, sausages - great. Sweets - so/so. I must admit, that if you are not familiar with traditional spices Turkish people eat or have in their food, you will find a bit of discomfort in eating everything. Yet, this hotel is a place where national ethnics, among tourists come to relax, and enjoy their free time - so I understand the full picture.
Facilities:
Main restaurant - too crowded in the evening, you can't find a table to sit if you come between 19:15-19:45. Yet it's spacious.
Snack bar - life saving before lunch if you are hungry - they serve decent food (fries, beef burgers, wraps, sandwiches).
Beach bar - enjoyed the beer. Cocktails are made differently depending on who is serving you. A selection of only 6 cocktails are available, and they are not the most popular.
Lobby bar - similar to the beach bar in terms of service. Big plus - the a/c
Hammam - paid 25$ for it. Includes 1h massage, and the Hammam service itself. Worths the price.
A la carte restaurant - I am not a big fan of fish, so didn't try it. It is a fish-specialized restaurant. Reservations are made between 10-11 am.
Location: a good one in Alanya. There is a tourist-oriented mall in the neighbourhood. All prices in USD/EUR. In other words $1=€1. Prices are decent though.
The beach: well taken care of. They are cleaning it every night. The beach is rocky, so I strongly advise to take special shoes for it. If you don't have them, you can buy at the local souvenir shop in the hotel. We paid $10 for one pair. In all three hotels in the same line, only Holiday Park seems to have a real and working lifeguard. Big plus for that.
Entertainment: diverse, themed, interesting, engaging. Strongly recommend. Also here - the ladies from the mini club have the good tradition to start every evening with a mini disco for kids in the amphitheatre.
In the end - the hotel worths the price, and the general 4 star rating on Google Maps. You get what you paid for.
Thank you to the Turkish people for their generosity.
We reserved a lateral sea view room, and it was a great room: a very big room, clean, renovated, with an amazing view of Adriatic Sea.
We were here from 27.04-4.05.24
The pools are very clean and the life-guards are very careful, especially with children.
The personal is nice, especially Mr. Adnan from the catering area, Mrs Nargiza from the mini-club (activity with kids) and the DJ of the complex: mr Talha.
We appreciated that every day were different activities for kids and for adults, and in the evening different shows: acrobatics, disco, circus, Turkish night, dancers from Cuba, etc.
The complex is clean, nice, and well maintained.
Again, it'a not a hotel for people with very high expectations, but not the price is :))) i say this because you can find minus points like: serving the food, cleaning in the rooms, the beach (has rocks), the presence of russian tourist (in the context with the ucrainian war, this is disturbing).
I recommend this hotel especially at the beginning of the season, when it's not crowded.
For 6 nights they did not replace our towels.
Title this review
the second time, ultra al in should also fit another alko, because we don't have to drink unpalatable koteils!
thirdly, our room is dirty, the edges of the bed are dirty and there are glass capsules thrown under the bed and we have a small child! The shower is not clean!
fourthly, this hotel does not deserve 5 stars and for that money they would have gotten much better from other companies! What to start is only the first night!!!!!
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Holiday Park Resort in Turkey for a week, and what started as a promising holiday quickly turned into a nightmare.
The first three days of our stay were uneventful, with the resort seeming like a decent choice. However, our experience took a drastic turn when we both fell victim to food poisoning from the hotel restaurant. The night we got sick was one of the most distressing of our lives, with constant vomiting and diarrhea.
Things escalated further when my girlfriend's condition worsened to the point that we had to call an ambulance and spend a night at the hospital. This was not the kind of vacation we had in mind.
Our disappointment reached its peak when we tried to discuss the situation with the manager upon checking out. Instead of showing empathy or taking responsibility, the manager was uncooperative and even tried to shift blame onto our travel agency.
Our holiday, which should have been a relaxing and enjoyable experience, turned into a health ordeal due to the food quality and the resort's handling of the situation. We would strongly advise against staying at Holiday Park Resort and hope that our experience serves as a cautionary tale for others.
Before arriving at the hotel, me and my partner saw the reviews about the food but decided not to believe, as it might be some virus.
However, on the 5th day, my partner got food poisoning from the restaurant, as we didn’t go anywhere that day and our food was prepared in the hotel, basically spent the night in the toilet, switching between vomiting and diarrhoea. The symptoms passed in 12 hours. Today is our last day and I was hospitalised for the same reason.
The gentleman on reception didn’t want to help us with calling an ambulance, stating that I’m okay, he never saw me or knew my situation. He stated that he can help only if we have Health insurance, which only Turkish people have ( please note that this insurance would have costed us £240 each and my hospital costs were less than €150)
Ambulance arrived very fast and took me to a public hospital, where I stayed for more than 18 hours.
The restaurant is using the food from the previous day, cutting the part where someone ate and telling us “this is normal”, how to know that it wasn’t from someone infected.
I didn’t believe that my holiday will finish like this, in hospital with food poisoning, with hotel staff that refuses to give my partner the street name so ambulance can come, with the excuse “it will be too expensive for you to call an ambulance”.
When requesting to speak with the manager, a woman called Anastasia comes to us to ask us what the problem was( Anastasia is not a manager). We tell her the situation and she is saying “yes, if you don’t have insurance then it will be too expensive to call a doctor, we can call it if you have your insurance number. When specifying that we didn’t ask how much it will cost, we only asked the street number Tayfun starts telling my partner to speak slowly, braking the distance between them.
General manager was very casual about the whole situation, like it happened before.
Extremely unprofessional and very rude staff, could say incompetent for their roles.
We never got a single sorry for our bad experience with their food and the whole reception team.
Book at your own peril ! Management and service are joke.
