Most beverages are best consumed either hot or cold. A lukewarm beverage is unpleasant. And serving a cup of coffee at room temperature is lazy and a rather foolish way for a hotel to lose points in a review. But that's exactly the case for Tru by Hilton Charleston Airport. After enjoying a nice dinner at a Charleston restaurant, we returned to the hotel to relax in our room. On the way to our room I attempted to get a cup of coffee from the carafes located in the lobby. I sampled both types of coffee offered and both were room temperature. It's true that this occurred at 7 in the evening, but it's also true that a sticker in their elevator encourages guests to grab a coffee 24/7. If you're going to offer all-day coffee, it needs to be drinkable all day. I'm guessing that the coffee was brewed fresh for breakfast but not replaced throughout the day. It's such a simple thing to do and much appreciated by the guests.

Everything else about our stay was good. Tru offers a minimal room experience, but that doesn't bother me. I actually like that I can roll the desk around the room to use it anywhere and any way I choose. It also allows me to use it without being hit directly by the air conditioner. I like the wall hangers on which we can hang hats, clothing, or bags. In truth, the furnishings in the room look inexpensive, somewhat like a college kid might have in his dorm room. It's functional but easily replaced. But the room was clean, the shower was hot, and everything worked properly.

We had to check out too early to enjoy breakfast, so I can't comment on that. We also checked in and out via the Hilton app, so we really didn't have any interaction with the staff. Unfortunately, the only thing I can rate the hotel for in regards to service is the lukewarm coffee. As I said earlier, it's a foolish way to lose a review point.

The location was perfect due to us attending an event at the North Charleston Coliseum. The hotel was clean and we were greeted with by a very nice young man. He was phenomenal. My only complaint is I requested extra pillows and wash cloths as well as towels and it was overlooked. I had to call the front desk while I was out on Day 2 to remind them of my requests. However, I was greeted by a less motivated staff member that was a little brash in her tone and she stated that she could guarantee the wash cloths and towels, but she could not guarantee the pillows. The purpose of the extra pillows is because I have neck issues and I sleep propped up to avoid neck pain. It was just like she really was not concerned about my needs. Overall it is a great place to stay and perfect location if you are attending an event at the coliseum. We actually walked to our event. It took us 2 minutes to get there.

We had a great stay, staff was very friendly, especially Guest sevices supervisor Chandra. She went out of her way regularly to make sure our large group had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic. Overall great experience. Thanks all!

This hotel has a 12pm checkout!! Amazing! Traveling with a newborn(2 weeks old) so the late checkout was a lifesaver and it allowed me to get 2 extra hours of much needed sleep. The beds and pillows are SO comfortable! I slept like I do at home, maybe even better! I thought the complimentary breakfast was fantastic! The attending breakfast staff was VERY attentive. The front desk staff is very friendly. The hotel was extremely clean!! Can’t wait to stay here again. Keep doing what you’re doing and take care of your staff Because I hope to see them all again, they are wonderful!! Great location as well, basically 10-15 minutes from EVERYTHING the Charleston low country has to offer.

I stayed here for 5 nights the week of thanksgiving and it went very well. Upon entering I was greeted and check-in was very easy. I traveled with my fiancé and my two dogs and had a room with a king size bed.

If you’re traveling with two adults and two dogs, I would recommend getting a room with double beds. With the 4 of us, it was comfy but more room would’ve been appreciated.

Overall, the amenities were very nice and everything was very new. This is a dog friendly hotel and it doesn’t smell, which is a plus. The only reason I gave a 4/5 was because there was no where to store your clothes so we were living out of our luggages.

Arrived about 2 hours after check in, in a rush. Had to get to a dinner in 15 minutes. The person up front was incredible! Had me checked in 5 minutes flat. Only problem I do have is him saying my room number out loud, makes me feel a bit uncomfortable as there are many people in the lobby and I often travel alone.

The room was clean and well air conditioned. Full soap dispensers as well as shampoo and conditioner. Had an incredibly comfortable sleep! Flopped into bed before I could even take a picture beforehand.

Checked out just as quickly. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. When checking in, I was told due to the pandemic, it would be a hot breakfast grab and go instead of a buffet. But instead it was bagels and bananas. A bit sad for me who loves hotel breakfast.

Overall, wonderful stay, especially for a quick overnighter in Charleston. Several minor things to tweak into a better hotel, but at the end of the day I will be staying at Tru again.
