Lovely hotel. The food was outstanding! Perfect location, the gift shop had rare items, staff were professional and prompt. Could not give it five stars because small details in the room were not attended too. Furnishings needed cleaned up a bit. Sofa stains, paint chips, some dirty walls. We were cheerfully surprised by a nice bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate a birthday. We will return.

Overall the Emeline has a lot of positives- it’s located in a good location close to shopping, it has a wonderful restaurant downstairs, and a coffee shop and offers valet parking which is helpful. The rooms are very nice and the bathrooms are very modern (you can get a HOT shower here), you can tell they thought of everything when setting up the rooms. However, we experienced some challenges during our stay as well. We stayed two nights (a Sunday and a Monday) our room was never cleaned during the stay. Room service came around 9am when we were trying to get ready for the day and when we asked room service to come at a later time they never did. We had to physically go down to the front desk to get towels. The major issue during our stay that you will see addressed in many other reviews it is extremely loud. We are on the fourth floor (many people warned about the 1st) and can hear drunk individuals talking loud and cackling in the courtyard below. You can also hear loud music playing which is very annoying when we are trying to go to sleep. Despite the beauty of the hotel, the kind staff, and the delicious food- the noise alone would deter me from staying here again.

Super cute hotel, the decor and staff were so friendly. It smelt great throughout the hotel too. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the smoke alarm was directly over the bed and was blinking all night. Once asleep, you don’t notice but it was very annoying when trying to fall asleep. Also, when the air would come on it would sound like someone was coming into our room- like the scanning of the key & door opening noise. It woke me up a few times. Other than that I thought the hotel vibe was beautiful.

I've actually never given a review lower than a 3. This review is relative to the cost you pay for a room and also what your expectation is of an upscale hotel. Our first night,(3 of us) we ordered room service. Pizza was delivered to our room with no utensils, napkins, OR even paper plates. Free box of mini cookies available. However, I don't believe they are freshly replaced because they were very stale. They also give you 2 free small bottled cokes with no bottle opener to actually enjoy them. We stayed in a suite, and the room does not have sufficient outlets. However, this could be from the age of the building, so if you have lots of electronics to charge, I suggest you bring a plug-in adapter for extra outlets. Great place for single 30 somethings who like to party, no so good if you have family or enjoy your sleep time. We unfortunately were assigned to the 1st floor, and it was horrendous because of the very loud club like music and DJ coming from the banquet room they rent out for weddings. No exaggerating, we could not turn our TV up loud enough to drown out the noise. If you are older or traveling with children, request upper floors for more quiet. The restaurant messed my plate up 3 times for dinner, so I was a bit disappointed with it. (FYI, there is a great place called Planters Inn around the corner that has an excellent breakfast!) There are large crowds of semi intoxicated people on the first floor on the weekends so again, I wouldn't recommend for families. Great location and the lady at the concierge was excellent in helping us find things to do.

I recently stayed at the Emeline Hotel while in Charleston for work, and I cannot recommend it enough! This beautiful hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore everything Charleston has to offer.
The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and spacious, with a modern yet cozy feel that made me feel right at home. One of the standout features was the coffee and water station on every floor—such a thoughtful touch that made my stay even more comfortable.
The gym was also a pleasant surprise. For a hotel gym, it was incredibly well-equipped and spotless, making it easy to keep up with my workout routine while traveling.
But what really set my experience apart was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay special. I was pleasantly surprised to return to my room one day to find a lovely note and some delicious cookies waiting for me. It’s little details like this that make the Emeline truly special.

We loved it! The service and staff 👌 Our room was upgraded which started our anniversary off just right. The room was beautiful, we loved the record player! The concierge was even able to get us dinner reservations at a restaurant we could not 🙌 above and beyond Emeline 👏 We will be back! 💗
