Real value for money

The hotel is classic in style and in a good location. You can walk to the White House, the Capitol and other attractions. There is no drinking water in the room, no toothbrush or slippers.

Beautiful hotel, with exceptional Italian restaurant!

The location is first-rate, and it is convenient to get around. There is a water dispenser on the first floor. Please note that if the room is close to the machine room, it will be very noisy. It has a sofa bed. You can park at the post office building next to it, which is cheap.

Well located hotel

Everything about this hotel was perfect for my trip. The front desk staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The concierge provided great recommendations for food and activities, made sure I got on the right bus, told me exactly where to get off, and checked in at the end of my trip to make sure everything went smoothly. I was traveling alone on this trip and felt very safe at the hotel. The room was well-appointed, clean, and although it was on a fairly busy street, it was not noisy. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

Stayed here on business for a few nights. The hotel is very conveniently located. The room I stayed in was a good size and had a desk, fridge, safe, iron and other items you would expect at a four star hotel.

There wasn't a lot of noise from the street, but I was on one of the upper floors.

On a less positive front, there was a feeling from those in our party that the service could have been better.

On check out, I was informed that I had used the mini bar, which I hadn't. But then it seems all in our party we're told this. Not a great way of trying to catch people out who might not be honest. Left a rather sour taste for such an expensive hotel. Not that I can imagine anyone using it for the prices bring charged.

Plus the restaurant was catering for a corporate event and was closed to anyone not in that party for breakfast. Lots of other places nearby, but not what you'd expect.

Aside from that the rest of the experience was positive.

I was charged $14 for a water and a candy bar from the mini bar that I did not take. I was not informed of the charges when I checked out. I only saw them later when I checked my credit card statement. I called yesterday to get this resolved and was told that the hotel had to open an investigation (!) and would email me back with an answer. I texted the people I was traveling with who had separate rooms, and one of my colleagues also had a minibar charge for water she did not take. I waited all day and got no response from the hotel. Called again this morning and no one answered the phone. Called again and finally someone answered and agreed to reverse the charges. This never should have happened, and when it did, the hotel should have apologized and reversed the charges immediately, not forced me to spend my time checking back and trying to get a resolution.

I also see another recent google review flagging fraudulent minibar charges. This hotel needs to fix this problem immediately.

The location is the selling point of this but my experience at the hotel itself was disappointing. First-My shower didn't seem to be working (almost no pressure) and when I mentioned it to the front desk they said someone would come up to fix it but when I came home after a long day it was exactly the same. My friend who was also staying at the hotel mentioned to me that she has TWO shower nozzles that were great-I only had one (but I'm pretty sure we were spending the same amount). One of the most important things to me in a hotel is a good shower and I have to say-this was the worst one I had ever experienced. Second-the internet connection was incredibly spotty. I wasn't able to do virtual meeting (via Zoom) in my room and had to make alternative plans to join a second meeting later during my stay. Third-the toilet kept running in the middle of the night.

This hotel was highly recommended to me but it seems like my experience compared to my friends was very different. They were even given champagne when they arrived-I wasn't given anything. For as expensive as this hotel was I really was expecting a lot more. My friends will probably return but I (unfortunately) will not be.

On a positive note-the location was incredible-I felt super safe and was able to walk absolutely everything. There were tons of restaurants all within a few blocks. Also, the front desk and valet were very kind and nice.
