Reviews
Second, despite having confirmed brunch hours at Alhambra (I explicitly asked the staff on Saturday to effectively plan our last day), I was left waiting for 10-15 minutes on Sunday, only to find out that service had been canceled without any notice. This forced us to scramble for alternative plans, which was particularly challenging during a busy Sunday.
Moreover, the hotel provided an outdated schedule (see attached schedule) for the Alhambra restaurant, which not only led to misplanning but also added to the confusion. Despite reviewing this printed schedule and also verbally confirming it with the staff on Saturday —who assured me it was correct—I was left with incorrect information that significantly disrupted my plans so we were scrambling last minute. I found out eventually that they changed it to a ballroom location and no way for me to find that out.
Additionally, I wasn’t offered, nor could I book, an afternoon tea, and the staff did not offer any help or alternatives for our family.
Worst of all, my key card was deactivated well before my late confirmed check-out time, not once but twice, causing long waits at reception while I was already under pressure and on a tight schedule to pack and make my flight from Dulles, which is about 45-60 minutes away from St. Regis. This added an unnecessary layer of stress.
The lack of proactive service and even basic guest support, such as offering help with luggage, was astonishingly poor. Throughout my stay, I faced repeated disappointments—from service disruptions at breakfast to the unavailability of booked amenities and premature deactivation of my access. These multiple failures culminated in a significantly stressful departure, completely at odds with the high standards I have come to expect from St. Regis.
Considering the high prices, the service was incredibly disappointing. If you're looking for a worthwhile and stress-free hotel experience, I suggest looking elsewhere. I share my experience to warn potential guests, and I hope the management at St. Regis DC will fix these issues soon.
