The Regis is a beautiful hotel where the staff are kind, warm and welcoming. The hotel is located on 16th and K streets and I highly recommend staying here and taking advantage of the best that DC has to offer.

We were upgraded to the Caroline Astor Suite which was beautifully decorated, spacious and had an amazing bath. The next day my mother had an important doctor's appointment and I told the St. team about it. Regis. They went out of their way to make my mom feel special. I have stayed here in the past and feel that everyone is always very kind. I want to give a special compliment to the bartender of the St. Regis. I walked in to take a glass of wine to my room and commented on how beautiful the decor was in the hotel...especially the ceilings. She told me more about the history and architecture and even let me look at the ceiling in the closed restaurant. You could tell she took genuine pride in her work and had a genuine appreciation for history and aesthetics. I really enjoyed talking to her. I believe her name is Jane.

My wife and I just left the St Regis and we were delighted with the rooms and the people who work there. Brian the concierge, Jane in the lobby and Winfried van Workum the general manager were very helpful and very friendly! We were treated like family throughout our entire stay, amazing! The GM should be delighted with his entire staff. Congratulations on managing and running the hotel the way they should all be run. :)

We went to the St. Regis Hotel for their Cherry Blossom High Tea and I’m sad to say, I was a bit disappointed in the experience. My cousin and I booked the tea 1.5 months in advance looking forward to a beautiful afternoon but the service left much to be desired. Though there were many unreserved 2 person tables available, we were sat at a table to accommodate a very large party. We were seated so far away from each other it was hard to have conversation in their bustling lobby. When we asked to move to an available 2 person table (we had only received menus at this point), the server seemed visibly annoyed and irritated by this request. She obliged and we continued on with the experience. The tea was delicious and the deserts were great. Though I was a bit put off when a waiter came by and asked if we wanted champagne, holding up 2 half full champagne flutes. I kindly said, “no, we did not order champagne with our tea,” to which he responded, “It’s ok, just take it.” Initially we felt it was our lucky day, but we quickly noticed that these were unfinished glasses of champagne from another table. The glasses were filthy with food debris, finger prints and lip prints on the rims. I’m not sure why the server would do this. We were upset, quickly paid and left. For over $100 per person at a luxury hotel, we expected way more. More in terms of service, decor, effort, and overall experience. I was surprised to see the tea was simply in their hotel lobby which while regal, had next to no cherry blossoms with the exception of a wall of flowers in the separate bar area. This tea was not worth the hefty price tag.

Lovely hotel and lobby bar. However, the lobby restrooms are located in the basement, which was a bit inconvenient. The staff were welcoming, but the lobby bar closing at 12 am felt a little early. Additionally, considering the price of the rooms, they were quite small.

I share my experience to warn potential future guests. As an experienced traveler and Titanium Elite member who has stayed at St. Regis properties in Singapore, Thailand, San Francisco, NYC, and other hotel brands, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the DC location. My stay from Thursday to Sunday was plagued with issues. First, there was a mix-up with my key card, which was incorrectly set to expire a day early, leading to unnecessary hassle.

Second, despite having confirmed brunch hours at Alhambra (I explicitly asked the staff on Saturday to effectively plan our last day), I was left waiting for 10-15 minutes on Sunday, only to find out that service had been canceled without any notice. This forced us to scramble for alternative plans, which was particularly challenging during a busy Sunday.

Moreover, the hotel provided an outdated schedule (see attached schedule) for the Alhambra restaurant, which not only led to misplanning but also added to the confusion. Despite reviewing this printed schedule and also verbally confirming it with the staff on Saturday —who assured me it was correct—I was left with incorrect information that significantly disrupted my plans so we were scrambling last minute. I found out eventually that they changed it to a ballroom location and no way for me to find that out.

Additionally, I wasn’t offered, nor could I book, an afternoon tea, and the staff did not offer any help or alternatives for our family.

Worst of all, my key card was deactivated well before my late confirmed check-out time, not once but twice, causing long waits at reception while I was already under pressure and on a tight schedule to pack and make my flight from Dulles, which is about 45-60 minutes away from St. Regis. This added an unnecessary layer of stress.

The lack of proactive service and even basic guest support, such as offering help with luggage, was astonishingly poor. Throughout my stay, I faced repeated disappointments—from service disruptions at breakfast to the unavailability of booked amenities and premature deactivation of my access. These multiple failures culminated in a significantly stressful departure, completely at odds with the high standards I have come to expect from St. Regis.

Considering the high prices, the service was incredibly disappointing. If you're looking for a worthwhile and stress-free hotel experience, I suggest looking elsewhere. I share my experience to warn potential guests, and I hope the management at St. Regis DC will fix these issues soon.

we stayed in with 2 beds and the room is small. The restroom is super small. 2 people can not even fit to stand together. Not St. Regis standard to my opinion. It is the probably the worst bathroom I have ever seen through all my stays in different brands. Very disappointing. Service is good. The location is great. I will probably skip it on my next visit to DC.

I am a little disappointed at St. Regis. This brand isn't what it used to be. I'm staying here this weekend. I went to the dining room to have dinner earlier and was told they were fully booked but I could eat in the bar. I was fine with that except the bar has a different menu than the dining room. Who wants to eat an overpriced sandwich for dinner? Also earlier in the day I came back from brunch. They were cleaning my room so I came back down to the lobby to wait. They were having their high tea and every single place to sit was marked reserved for that. There was absolutely no place for guests staying to sit. It's very inconsiderate of the guests staying here. When you stay at a nice place like this it's the details that matter, otherwise you might as well stay at the Holiday Inn. It is sad to see how bad this brand has gotten. It's very similar to the drop in service and quality at the Ritz Carlton properties since they were purchased by Marriott. Places like this used to be special to come to. Now not so much. All they care about is the bottom line.

The hotel is well located and comfortable. When we initially arrived on 13 December 2021 we found the Reception staff to not be welcoming or interested. We found we had no fridge in the room and were advised that this may be able to be provided at an extra cost. It was very difficult to get more than two sachets of coffee and very few toiletries were provided. Our experience improved markedly after I tested positive for COVID. Mike, the Manager, was practical and helpful. The housekeeping staff were enormously supportive. We were well cared for in the remaining days in the hotel with ample access to coffee, toiletries, towels and concern. We were grateful for this.

Went for a wedding. The ceremony was outside in a courtyard (seemed a bit tight for seating) but the reception room was very elegant. Staff was friendly.
