The Watergate Hotel Georgetown

We were greeted at the hotel by Alex who was wonderful. He was very kind and caring and introduced us to a beautiful view. Teddy at the valet was also very nice and helpful. I will definitely stay at the Watergate again and again. Thank you !

One of the best hotels I've had the privilege of staying at. I reserved the Diplomat suite but received a complementary upgrade to the Ambassador's suite. The room was breathtaking. The master bathroom had the best shower on the planet. While I appreciate the fully stocked fridge, the TV is still a bit in the stone age with the lack of streaming services, and an underwhelming on-demand selection. Lastly, it was difficult to reach front desk and valet from the room so be prepared to manually walk down and request your vehicle. Overall, very satisfied with my stay.

The amenities (pool, hot tub, ballroom, bar, restaurant, shops, etc) were impressive and I wish I would have made more use of to be honest. Above all, the staff was very kind and eager to help whenever possible. They really made me feel cared for :).

I'm giving four stars only because of Tyler. He was a gem and very helpful, professional and courteous. Unlike Constance who was not helpful at all and might want to reconsider working in a service oriented profession. After trying to get her help for 3 hrs (!!!) with a room change that was on them (!!!) and me not feeling well to boot she just didn't care, at all. Luckily Tyler came and took care of our room change in 10 minutes (or this would have been a two star review at best) . It's one thing to be new at your job but try your best, but being completely indifferent is not acceptable.

Other than the widely varied service experience described above, the location is great, the hotel is nice, the other employees were nice also and the overall vibe was good. The restaurant was overpriced but decent.

Recently had the pleasure of staying at Watergate in downtown D.C., and I was thoroughly impressed. The location is unbeatable, providing easy access to all the key attractions. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. The rooms were elegant and immaculate, offering all the modern amenities one could hope for. A standout experience in the heart of the capital. Highly recommend!

Lovely large hotel with fantastic view of the Potomac River and Georgetown. They work hard at maintaining a consistently high class environment. Not particularly kid friendly. Front desk & Bellmen are helpful and well trained.

The view and vibe was fantastic. Had reserved seating with three other people and the night started off great. Drinks and food came out quickly but unfortunately the service became non-existent as the night went on. The times we did get drinks, we had to chase down a server or the manager. I would come back for the view and a quick drink at the bar, but I will not be paying the $50 minimum per person for the reserved seating again as the lack of service made it nearly impossible to meet the minimum without ordering the most expensive drink options.

The hotel is going for an upscale vibe but still a good place for a vacation stay. Roof top bar provides good views over the river.

The front desk staff stand out because they were always very courteous and attentive. They display a level of training that is unusual when compared to other 3-4 star establishments.

The history pushed the decision to stay here but the accommodations would make me want to return.

Our stay at the Watergate was a blast. We were able to get a very reasonable rate. From the moment you walk in the hotel exudes class. The interior decoration and lighting is very cool, and this is continued into the rooms. I'm sure some of the nicer rooms are even better. The bed was very comfy. We don't use the pool but they both looked nice. The gym looked very nice as well. The location is pretty good in relation to Georgetown as well as the National Mall. Ask about their complementary bikes! They have 6 available and they are first come first serve. I imagine you may have to be up fairly early on weekends to snag them, but we had no trouble getting them at 9 on a Monday. As far as I know, our room was not wiretapped.
