YTI Garden Hotel in Melbourne

This hotel is clearly underrated or pourly reviewed.
YES, it can be a bit noisy, BUT you're in the middle of the city where the action is.
The room was really clean and did not lack anything. The hotel has 24/7 reception. The furniture and design is not 2030 nor it should be.
In short: great location, clean rooms, kind staff.

My choice for low cost hotel in Melbourne CBD. Great location on Little Bourke St. Liked kitchenette facilities in room, including electric hotplates and toaster. Would appreciate small microwave. Very close to many different culture restaurants on and near Hardware Lane. Appreciated 24 hour reception.

As the review below me says, it's important to remember this is budget lodgings when leaving a review. The location is perfect, close to everything you could possibly need and easy to access all main stations from.

The rooms are fine for $100 a night. Bed is decent, bathroom fine, kitchenette fine. The main complaint is SOUND. Staying on the second floor, prepare to hear sounds from 7am until midnight every single night. Machinery, full conversations of people below, televisions blaring in other rooms around you, etc. The windows and walls are paper thin and do nothing to prevent disturbance.

Still - some earplugs fix it - mostly. The location is the best part of this place and that alone is worth four stars given the price. I'd stay again.
