Best Western Plus Marina Star Hotel in Lindau

I believe I was scammed due to a system error. My reservation was duplicated for the same date and under the same name. I arrived at 8 PM for a 6 PM check-in and immediately requested the duplicate reservation be canceled, offering to pay for the single room I would be using. The initial receptionist agreed to this arrangement but deferred the final cancellation to a manager.
Follow-up attempts the next day and over the weekend were unsuccessful, as staff continued to state they were waiting for management approval. Ultimately, the manager informed me that cancellations could not be made after 6 PM, resulting in my being charged for both rooms. This policy seems inconsistent, as a previous duplicate reservation of mine was successfully canceled without issue, even at 10 PM. I am deeply disappointed to have experienced this, particularly in Germany, and feel the hotel has handled the situation unprofessionally.

Not really what you expecting to receive for the price you pay.

Hotel room was clean and there is parking which is good. Staff is absolutely terrible. Very unfriendly and almost rude. I left something in the room and called to ask if it was found. I immediately got a firm ‘no’ even-though no one went to look (clearly). I called another few times to see if other staff was more helpful, but no luck. Sadly only the evening staff (a gentleman) was kind and understanding, but he said nothing was left at reception and I should call back in the morning to check with the staff then.

Of course it’s my own mistake for leaving something in the room, but my review is purely based on the interaction with the staff and that doesn’t deserve more than 1x star.
