B&B Hotel Mainz-Hbf

My room was completely infested with bed bugs. I asked the hotel to change my room they refused. I asked them to at least change my bed, they said they will but never did, they also didn’t change my bedsheets once despite me asking over and over again. Furthermore the cutlery and dishes were all extremely dirty. The plates and mugs in the clean section always had remnants of dried food in them. Despite all of this the hotel also refused a refund. The hotel was already extremely overpriced for the quality of rooms and food but this entire situation made it entirely a scam. Overall i would absolutely not recommend, don’t bother risking your life and money

I don't normally write reviews but I just can't help it today.

Pros: The receptionist was really kind and there is a vending machine in the lobby where you can buy hot drinks. The location is near Mainz Central Station.

Cons: The room was really really dirty. The window glass seems like it wasn't cleaned for months. The floor still has crumbs on it, meaning that it wasn't vacuumed. There were even stains of fluids on the wall. The toilet paper was obviously a left over and just maybe after 5 rolls, it was already empty so since I didn't want to ask anymore, we just bought our own from the nearest store. Also, the painting on top of the bed was really dusty. Plus, since I was with my 6 year old daughter, she can't help but play and crawl and guess what she found? A bottle of Coca Cola under the bed. Not the tiny one but a 1.5L!

The worst thing is the bed! I am not even sure if the sheets were changed because we saw short strands of hair near the pillow (it was only me and my daughter and we have long hair). Then at night I felt so itchy. I scratched and scratched until my whole body was reddish then I saw my daughter doing the same! I am not sure but I think there were bed bugs. What we did was, since they gave us 2 single comforters, we used one to cover from the head part up to the feet and we slept on top of it. Guess what? The itchiness was gone!

I know that this is a budget hotel and we weren't actually expecting anything special but we just wanted to sleep comfortably in a nice and clean room and that was not met.

Mostly ok,Clean rooms, regularly cleaned. small rooms but still comfortably, the tv was very high and worst experience was that the Air conditioner could not get under 28 degrees, so in unusual hot Mainz summer days it was very strange to be overcharged for a spa that you didn't wanted, Even after i made polite suggestion to find us a new room with Klima that work.. they didnt... other wise clean, close to the Hauptbahnhof so you can very easily get to to Frankfurt by train.
