We celebrated our wedding at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract, and words can’t capture the truly exceptional experience we had. From start to finish, every moment was perfectly orchestrated, all thanks to the incredible management and staff who left no detail overlooked. The food was simply outstanding, the attention to detail was remarkable, and we felt pampered in every possible way.

There was a brief moment of nerves before the ceremony, and then, out of nowhere, a kind woman approached us with a calming presence that immediately put us at ease. We later discovered she was the head of the spa, and we were treated to an unforgettable experience there the next day that was simply perfect.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Selim for his brilliant management and to Mr. Nagy, whose dedication and unique approach made this wedding possible—it wouldn’t have happened without him. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Fathi and the reservations team, who handled every detail flawlessly. Every staff member made our guests feel at home, providing an unforgettable experience that we and our guests will treasure forever.

This is the epitome of Old world charm in Egypt. Fairy tale facility, wonderful service. Flagship restaurant, 1902, serves classic French cuisine with a slight Egyptian spin. Stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute. Premium priced, but worth it.

The hotel is absolutely amazing. Some friends and I had gone to the hotel to have a drink and see the views! A friend had been here before and the concierge surprised us with a tour of the Agatha Christie room. Marvel had given us the surprise news and the tour and she was so nice, knowledgeable, and kind. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

This was one of the best hotels I have ever experienced. The hotel is beautiful with a great view of the Nile, the rooms were large and the food was excellent. Most of all, the service was the most attentive, prompt, friendly I have ever experienced. Would recommend to all and will come back. Mariam was very supportive and made sure we had a good stay.

Only constructive feedback is that the rooms did not have a lot of plugs, none next to the beds.

A brilliant stay, with luxury revealing history and buoyancy containing modernity as well. The view of the room is extraordinary, where the sunset of Nile is ready for expectant eyes. Embracing the fresh air in the morning, we enjoyed impeccable services and taste at the renowned 1902 restaurant. At 5PM, Ms Marvel offered tour to the suite of Agatha Christie, with passionate introduction and guidance that made us feel at home.

About the old cataract, it is truly a life time experience, I’ve been to many hotels all over the world my the warm welcoming I got here is just something! Old cataract you got my heart, you are a dream destination.

We went to the Old Cataract Hotel for afternoon tea and sunset drinks.
The hotel really lived up to our expectations: the historic feel is very well preserved, yet with luxurious modern touches and top-notch service.
We received a warm welcome from the staff at the bar and in general were impressed with how attentive and professional the staff were (also special thanks to Marvel!). And the sunset views blew us away.
We would definitely return and we hope for a longer stay.
