They don't provide basic toiletries, same breakfast every day, nothing other than brake fast prepared in kitchen. Bathroom not suitable if you are with kids as there is no privacy.

Really friendly staff at this hotel! The location is walking distance to the Egyptian Museum and to the Khan el Khalili market and an affordable Uber ride away to pretty much anywhere in Cairo. The rooms could use a little love- super old sheets and some things falling apart, but overall would recommend this place. Good location. I walked to the Cairo museum. Very friendly and kind staff. I had lunch and dinner with them and it was one of my best memories in Cairo. I liked my room which was nice, quiet and clean. I recommend this hotel to Solo or small group of tourist.

The hotel is located at a prominent location close to Tahir Square and Egypt museum. While it is a part of an old building, the hotel is very modern with all the amenities. The rooms were clean, grandly decorated and with attached washroom. I found the glass washroom as slightly inconvenient as it lacked the privacy which one needs while conducting bathroom rituals. It has a very good location near to everything and was a saver to be able to check in at 2am after a long travel. It was clean and good one but could be a little bit cheaper to meet the expectations. I didn't catch the breakfast so, I cannot judge it.

Location of this hotel is nice and the owner is a decent person, always ready to help you. Beds were bigger than many hostels I have been to and these were comfortable. Lifts were not working and I had to walk through the stairs with my heavy luggage. Bathroom was good but it could have been cleaner.

The staff is very nice and polite, we stayed 3 nights here, on our first night we had to change our room from balcony to no balcony due to the noisy traffic.

Marco Halim was a grate host. My girlfriend lost 3 rings and he found them and helped arrange to transport them to Dahab where we stayed after Cairo. That says a lot about the honesty and service mindedness of the hotel i would say.

This is a very basic hotel which provides good value for the money. We spent the last night here as we had to go to the museum and then to the airport the next day. The facilities and breakfast were basic, but the hospitality was really good. They took care our luggage after checkout and arranged taxi for the airport. They have a friendly cat at the lobby and the kids had a good time playing with it...

Right in the centre, close to the Nile. Full breakfast (Egyptian style) and really nice guys in the reception! However noisy, even if we had a private room. We could hear all the people in the corridor and in the common bathroom. The building from outside looks like "scary house" and hostel is completely at the top (in case you have heavy luggage like us).

Everything was good until we booked with them a daytrip to the pyramids (giza,sakkara and dashur) with a private "guide" in spanish for 65€. DON'T DO THIS! we felt deceived because the guide was not a real guide (she didn't know anything about history of egypt and) and it was very difficult to understand her talking in spanish. It was a trick.

It has been amazing staying at freedom hostel, been on this hostel 3times, but the vibe and positive still there and growing every time i go. Really good place with good receptionists. Eslam helped me about the doctor and the test of COVID. He organised everything to make sure everything could be fine. Others were great too. We shared discuss and they gave me some good advices. Pro's: - good location in downtown - cheap price - hosts (two brothers) were friendly and helpful -24/7 "reception" Con's: - it's not a hotel, so the "reception" was in front of our room (pretty annoying & loud also during night) - AC was not able to cool down the room - lot of mosquitos!!! - mosque directly next to hostel, so you will be awake at 4am - breakfast was only omlette...

Wonderful experience and better looking rooms than I expected in a place with such great low rates. I had to stay longer because I was having so much fun I forgot to get my covid test to fly home. They were very helpful get me a tour of the pyramids with a wonderful tour guide. They got me another room when I had to stay later and were the best with directions and helpful tips for my daily excursions...

Me and my friend stayed here for 9 nights and it was wonderful. It is located right in the heart of downtown Cairo and is within walking distance to most of the major tourist attractions, including the metro. The owner was absolutely lovely, and took very good care of us - as 2 young women we also always felt very safe, which is very important to us. All in all, no complaints and very pleased.

Simple and cheap especially for solo traveler, they have a very old Lift which is, sometimes its not working. But the staff are good. Poor in ventilation.

Good location. Have plenty of restaurants near by. It's in 7th floor, so we get a nice view. The room itself is OK. The toilet had a sewage smell, we were told it was due to it being fixed the same day and the smell would go soon. We were for a night, so was not that much of an issue.
