Cecilia - Hostel
Cairo, 47 El-Falaky street 🧭 Map
24h reception, which allowed me to check in late night because of my delayed flight
Stayed for three days, and the scenery in Greece is truly breathtaking. Just a short walk brings you to the famous cliff attractions, it's incredibly dreamy and therapeutic! If I ever need to, I'll definitely come back. The staff were very enthusiastic, and laundry service was free.
This hotel was distinguished by features rarely found in hotels, namely the owner's commitment to a warm, family-like atmosphere. We lived there as one family, all having fun and helping each other. I made friends from many countries.
Cecilia Hotel is located at the center of everything. Visitors don't travel long distances to find Restaurants and Shops. And the hotel staff is always available if you need any help🙂
Honestly, I didn't like the entrance. The staff are excellent and the bed is comfortable.
Everything here is great! The location is excellent, the interior decoration is very retro, and the most commendable thing is the rooftop! You can enjoy the beautiful view of Cairo city here. The owner and service staff are very friendly and they are happy to make friends. I spent a very memorable three nights here! Although the facilities may be a little old, you can't ask for anything else at such...

This place was a really nice surprise! Good nightly rate for a private room, clean, good WiFi. Excellent location in downtown Cairo.
The building it is in is very old but the part with the hostel in it is comfortable and beautiful on the inside.
We had a great stay at this hostel. I booked a private room, which was comfortable, clean, and perfect for a bit of extra privacy.
The location couldn’t have been better, everything I needed was within easy walking distance, and it made exploring the city incredibly convenient.
A special thanks to Yousuf at the front desk. He was friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything...
Very lovely place to stay in the city center that is close to everything. The hotel is super clean and the staff are all kind and nice. Definitely recommend.
This hostel is in a great location. I had a private room which was really nice - spacious and clean with comfy beds. It’s noisy but any hotel in downtown Cairo will be the same. The breakfast was not bad. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn’t think the pyramids tour they organised was great - the car was not good and the guide was not great. But the hotel itself is really good and great...
I liked the place in general! There is an elegant interior design that gives a perfect touch to its Egyptian theme! Decorative and well organized throughout the interior! I liked the look! Also the service of the staff is veryy good! It gives me good taste and I like the charisma! Always with the smile of everything! Attentive to the guests! The only bad thing is the entrance I thought was leading...
An unexpectedly great hotel!
The staff was extremely helpful and resolved any issues that arose. Upon check-in, they explained the room amenities in detail. The room itself had comfortable beds and was generally quiet—we woke up to the alarm clock rather than street noise.
There's a restaurant (indoor and a few tables on the veranda) with several breakfast options and a small menu that's plenty for...

Recommend you to carry your own water.
Budget friendly accommodation. Nice and friendly host.
The host took care of our luggage for three days for free of cost.
Amazing hostel! If you are looking for a hostel that is chill with AMAZING staff I recommend this place. I felt safe as a female solo traveler and reception did an amazing job at handling a problem with my booking. They helped me book a night at their sister hostel and then fixed me a room the following day with them for the same original price. I originally booked with hostelworld but I recommend...
I had received my tourists from this hostel
EVEn me I I noticed its perfect to guide our tourists to old cairo tour and the egyptian museum
Highly recommended to my tourists
Staff was super accommodating with good recommendations, room was clean and bed was comfy. Amazing central location to everything we wanted to do today!
Great location, right next to the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square, AUC, Greek campus. The hostel is in old classical building which I adored.
Easy access & transportation by metro (Sadat Station).
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable and the balcony was breathtaking.
Good prices and overall good service.
This was our first time visiting Cairo. Traveling from California (America). My first time ever staying in a Hostel and I must say, it was a nice experience. The staff was very helpful and helped us find food (we landed at 11:30pm but didn’t get to check in until around 1am). Room was nice and clean. The location is very convenient and the service was really good!
It's not super clean!
I think I'll stay here again next time
Check-in: Arrived at 7am and the staff were very kind and helped me check in Hygiene: There is an aunt to clean every day, so everywhere is very clean Security: The elevator and lobby are monitored, the front desk is on duty 24 hours a day, need to pay attention to the downstairs door is closed at night, you can call someone to open the door Room: Live in six rooms, actually each room has a door, privacy...
An absolutely unexpected gem in the heart of Cairo and an unparalleled experience overall. This place offers a truly fantastic experience. Not to mention that both the owners and the staff simply manage to redefine the notion of hospitality through their actions. I can honestly say it was the best hostel I ever...

I was surprised to find that not all room types have air conditioning. In hot weather, this is a basic necessity, not a luxury. No matter the room type, AC should be standard across the board for guest comfort. Please make this clear in the listing and consider upgrading all rooms.
Very good. The boss is very attentive.
Get up early to prepare breakfast for me
They are a pair of grandpa and grandma
Take good care of me
I think they feel safe there.
But remember to bring earplugs
There are prayer sounds nearby
You may be disturbed at night
Skewed bed but good location in this area.
Mediocre bed, skewed mattress No towel. However very authentic 60's decoration and in the vicinity only couple of hotels so in that sense this is the only sensible option to experience this area. Taxi cant go directly to door in other hotels.
I recommend for couple of nights, not more.
Location good
I can't ask top quality service for a 10 pounds a night
No towels. Single pillow only. No lift- difficult with heavy suitcases. Very friendly. Excellent breakfast.
A good safe and humble place Like a family home a few minutes away from old islamic and historic places above that it won't hurt your budget 👍

Good location in downtown Cairo. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and tidy with AC. The bed was comfy and the room included a fridge too. The staff were friendly and helpful when it came to food suggestions and information on how to get around. Simple breakfast included.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The location is very close to everything. You can shop cheap trendy clothes nearby. Blaban and other famour food chain is just few steps away. Highly recommended! ❤️
This budget hostel located in the heart of Cairo city is our last minutes resort. The front desk staff are very helpful and try their best to meet what you need. Free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast. Enjoying viewing Nile Sunset at river bank is a 20-minute walk.
Simply impeccable! From the moment of arrival to check-out, my experience in this hotel was perfect. The team is extremely attentive, always smiling and ready to help with any detail. The cleanliness is a separate highlight - everything was impeccable every day. In addition, the location is excellent, close to everything, but still quiet to rest. A place that I recommend and I intend to come back!
On my last day in Cairo, I used it as a day use as I was leaving late at night. It was a hostel but I booked it because it had a private bathroom. The towels were not as good as those in a hotel, but they were fine to use. You can borrow a hairdryer at the front desk. Soap, body wash, and shampoo are provided. The location is very convenient as there are many restaurants and souvenir shopping (including...
Don't know how this hotel got a high score of 4.6? I won't choose it again anyway. The facilities are extremely rudimentary. There is not even a stool in the room. There is nothing you need. The pillow is so hard that it feels like sleeping on wood. The bed is also hard. I felt sore all over after sleeping.

It has a very good location near to everything and was a saver to be able to check in at 2am after a long travel. It was clean and good one but could be a little bit cheaper to meet the expectations.
I didn't catch the breakfast so, I cannot judge it.
Location of this hotel is nice and the owner is a decent person, always ready to help you. Beds were bigger than many hostels I have been to and these were comfortable. Lifts were not working and I had to walk through the stairs with my heavy luggage. Bathroom was good but it could have been cleaner.
All the staff was friendly and always willing to help you. The room is very clean and the breakfast excellent. Really good price for the service, have been recommending to friends and family.
The staff is very nice and polite, we stayed 3 nights here, on our first night we had to change our room from balcony to no balcony due to the noisy traffic.

Excellent services. Extremely warm welcoming. We feel so good staying at Freedom Hostel.
Room, bed, blanket, towel are so cleans.
15 min by walking to Tahrir square.
Lot of money exchange spots, so too easy for tourists.
Location of this hostel is amazing for being right in the downtown area of Cairo.
It is on the top floor of the building, 3 flights of stairs.
Staff were lovely, breakfast was great, rooms were clean, comfy beds and working water.
Would recommend.
Absolutely avoid the hotel in the same building though- like 100% avoid.
The best part of this hostel was absolutely the wonderful staff working here, they truly make you feel like this is your home away from home. The rooms and bathrooms are kept very clean. Beds are very comfortable, Wi-Fi works very well. The breakfast in the morning is included in your stay and it is good and plentiful! Excellent location as you are walking distance to many places. Really great value...

It’s a nice hostel near downtown Cairo, cheap and cozy. You can basically get everything downstairs. there are many shops and restaurants. Kazaz restaurant is the one I strongly recommend. I stayed here for 2 weeks and it’s a perfect place if you are traveling on budget, and the stuff is very friendly and helpful.

A good location in the city centre. It was easy to find. I recommend it.
The room presented had nothing to do with the one chosen on the internet, which said it was: I think, 25 m2, bathtub, balcony overlooking the street and I found a room without a window, dirty walls, a wardrobe without one of the doors.
Stayed here during my layover. It’s okay.
The service is warm, friendly, clean and very safe.
The main thing is that it is cheap, the store is a bit shady, and for other prices, you get what you pay for.

This was an ok hostel stay. I would have rated 5/5 had it not been for 3 things:
1. Had to rent towels
2. Smoking right outside the door, which meant the reception/common area reeked of smoke whenever someone was smoking.
3. Flies were buzzing around at breakfast time.
I booked twice in a row, once for 4 days and another for 3, with consecutive dates. Something I've never experienced traveling solo before: this hostel tells you to switch rooms after two days. First, I had to move from an upstairs room to a downstairs one because my original room was designated as a male shared room. Then, after another two days, they told me again I had to move because this new room...
Location: Right next to the Egyptian Museum. The exterior looks a bit rundown, but the room was quite spacious. Service & Facilities: The front desk staff were very welcoming. If you pre-order breakfast, they'll deliver it to your room.
The room was decent; at this price, you can't expect too much. The location is excellent, right next to the Egyptian Museum, and there's a small convenience store nearby. However, you'll need a taxi to get to the pyramids. Going left, you'll also need a taxi to reach the largest mall. Each ride costs about 30 EGP. My first two days were mainly for sightseeing, and on the third day, I spent the whole...

I recommend it to anyone 😉
This place is small, only 5 rooms, on the third floor of a typical building of the area. It is budget accommodation, and fine for that. The sign for it is small too. Cairo, 11 Tahrir Square, First floor, Downtown 🧭 Map
The entrance was hard to find. The elevator was very dangerous. They accommodated midnight check-in and early morning check-out. The streets were scary to walk around in the middle of the night.
The location was great and it was easy to get around.
The breakfast was delicious and the beds were clean.
However, it was disappointing that there were no amenities provided.
If there were at least slippers and a hair dryer, it would have been perfect.
The entrance is a little hard to find, so it might be easier to find if you look for a store called shidbat.
Remember this entrance, otherwise you won't be able to find it at all. The front desk is quite welcoming, but they don't speak English very well. They mainly provide service with a smile. Except for the location in the downtown area, everything else is unsatisfactory. It's really just an ordinary B&B. You can't ask for too much at this price.
The location is perfect, but there is no sign, so it is difficult to find unless you ask people around. However, the worst thing is that the water frequently stops. During my two-night stay, the water stopped 4 to 5 times. Each time, the hotel staff turned on something like a breaker to deal with the situation, but it was a hassle not to go and tell them every time, and I had to be nervous about the...
The location was also very good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the only disappointment was that there were no amenities such as shampoo or body soap.
I knew nothing about Egypt and only read the reviews. The manager and staff were very friendly and there was an elevator so it was easy to carry luggage. There were some flies but no bed bugs. However, the water supply was often cut off so I had to adjust it with a switch in the hallway, and even then, the water was cold. I enjoyed my stay here. The staff are friendly, although they can be a bit noisy in the morning, haha, but that's because my room is right in front of the reception. There are no towels or bathroom slippers provided. The hostel's location is convenient, situated in the city center with various shops, restaurants, and markets nearby. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Midtown. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The room itself was clean.
The location of the hotel was also very convenient exploring the city.
Our stay in the Midtown was fine. We were a bit worried since it was our first night in Cairo and considering that the surrounding city streets are dark and busy it was reassuring when we met Mahmoud the owner. Firstly, he reached out via Whatsapp to ensure we’d a taxi or tours, we’d already prebooked these but he was the only hotel owner who was upfront and straight with no hassle on the tours....
