Avoid This Hotel – Beware of Theft by Staff!

I had a deeply unsettling experience at this hotel during my recent stay in Barcelona. My jewelry was stolen while our room was being cleaned, and I strongly suspect the housekeeper was involved. The staff member not only persistently identified items on my bedside table but also bizarrely and accurately mentioned what was in my zipped-up bag — a clear indication that she had access to my personal belongings.

When I reported the theft to the manager, instead of taking responsibility or offering any assistance, I was blamed for "misplacing" my belongings. There was no apology, no offer of any compensation, and no resolution whatsoever. In fact, I later learned that this hotel has been previously accused of theft by staff members on more than one occasion.

I am shocked and appalled by the lack of professionalism and accountability here. My personal belongings were taken, and I was made to feel like I was in the wrong. This is an incredibly unsafe and dishonest establishment. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this hotel.

There are plenty of other places in Barcelona where you can stay without having to worry about your valuables being taken or being blamed for it afterward.

Avoid at all costs.

The rooms are dated. The bedside power outlets do not work. The “climate control” is minimal, at best in the guest rooms however the lobby and common areas are well cooled. The lighting in the room is frustrating as you can’t have only one light on unless it is the bedside reading light or bathroom light. The location is great and the staff are friendly.
