Petit Palace Boqueria Garden Hotel

Located in a central touristy shopping area. Hotel was clean. Courtyard was quite hot (no air flow) but it was quiet and bar made good drinks. Be aware laundry service is charged PER ARTICLE of clothing — not cheap.

Great courtyard and large sheet towels
The hotel room was very clean. I loved the large sheet towels in the bathroom and the toiletries (this was a 100 points). The hotel is well situated and has a beautiful courtyard.

A very large property that managed to feel intimate, and could not be in a better location in the heart of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona. Air-conditioning was cold, water pressure was good, and the garden area was so lush and beautiful. Staff was nice, breakfast was good, and the clientele was most mostly American. Would absolutely stay here again.

The staff got us an early check in, called us a taxi to our tour to Park Güell and La Basilica Família! The staff were helpful, sincere, kind and funny. The area has a lot to offer "Ciao Ciao" was very good for dinner and "Milk" was the best breakfast ever! There was a market 700 feet from the hotel that was totally amazing!! We walked to the beach. Advice- buy towels and an umbrella before you go. There are hustlers everywhere trying to get you to buy their crumby goods.

After staying in AirBnB’s for 7 nights prior to arriving in Barcelona, it was a great relief to arrive at Petit Palace Boqueria in the Gothic Quarter. It was a quick walk from the Aerobus stop at Placa Catalunya and when we arrived, we discovered that it is the most convenient location for seeing and doing everything you’d like in Barcelona. It is RIGHT across La Rambla to get to the famous Boqueria Sant Josef. A short walk to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the subway, the Aerobus, or the two Hop on Hop On busses. It is close to a whole host of excellent restaurants, wonderful sights, and convenient stores. But it is also a welcome relief from the bustle of the city- entering into the lobby is like retreating from the crowds and heat to your own haven of rest.

We especially appreciated our spacious room. With a bunk bed for the kids and a large king bed for us, the air conditioning functioned beautifully, the bathroom was expansive with good water pressure and the SOFTEST towels, and the internet was free and fast.

The staff were bilingual - helping us navigate the neighborhood with all of our dining, walking, and transportation questions. They were always available, always helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Pro tip, there is a wash/laundry service within walking distance (3 minutes walk, really) of the front door of the hotel called Lavenderia Roca. Google map it because they are GEMS! 4 days of laundry done, same day! (22 Euro!)

Its location is very good and the reception staff are friendly. And the price worth it. But the room is a little bit cold.

So many things to tell! Good and to improve in the same time! We stayed here 4 nights, 4 persons at the end of October. We chose this hotel due to its excellent location!

So the good:
• as I said, the location is amazing! 2 minutes to the metro on La Rambla and in the middle of the pedestrian area. Taxi picked us up at the end of the street and came to greet us at the reception!
• the Breakfast is oh-my! Loved the diversity and they were changing it even between days. Soooo many options, salted, sweet, healthy, pastry, drinks, coffees, water - totally worth it (check out the pictures)
• the personnel was mostly very kind and friendly! We spoke a bit of Spanish too so language was not a problem, but some were definitely more friendly than others!! At the reception there were 2 men and one lady (so sorry we don't have their names 😔) whom we appreciated especially and all the staff at the breakfast! Running around, helping, cleaning - Ramon was all smiles and greeting guests!
• the cleaning ladies were doing a great job each day. A big thank you from our side !!!
• the luggage storage after check out is working perfectly - they have a good system in place!

The "to improve":
• the room. The pictures were deceiving, they game the impression of 2 different rooms when we had just one with bunk beds and one double bad and the room was in bad condition. I would say the room is 2 stars, not 4. We were pleasantly surprised with the 2 bathrooms so we decided to compromise and accept it, but it was not fair.
• we have received a nice message with things we can ask from the reception if we need, such as slippers - so naturally, we didn't take with us from home (having only small luggages). When we asked at the reception, there was a cold reply that they are only for "dedicated guests". They only agreed to give us after we showed them the message and they checked with their supervisor.
• the light in the bathroom is terrible !! You can't get any make up done, it seems that it lights you from the back.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel after knowing what your priorities are. If you don't care about room confort, but want a great location and amazing breakfast - this is for you. If you book in advance, maybe you can find cheaper - I don't know. We didn't find many options so centrally located and with what we were looking for (breakfast, with luggage storage, preferably 2 bathrooms).
