My stay fulfilled all my expectations of a vacation I'd promised myself.
The food was overall basic and a lot of the things just did not taste good. (The desserts...)The dining room is always full of people and the food was a lot of the times luke-warm. Not an enjoyable experience.
There was plenty of room to lay outside and towels + parasols to borrow. The pool was quite small and you could not really 'swim' because of the mass of people during the day. We preferred the sea.The fitness was quite small and the tools were just packed close to eachother and you pay 8 euro pp for one hour of welness. Some of the things (steambath, showers) did not work.
Overall was the staff quite rude. You were a lot of the times not greeted or feeling welcome by the waitresses.
The cocktails in the bar were good for a decent prize and the location of the hotel is good with direct sea acces and walking distance to salou (30mins) and cambrils (1h). There's a busstop and supermarkets nearby.
Overall nice for families with kids that want to be entertained, but not so much for couples that want a bit more relax.
No matter if you go for sun bathing on the premise itself with the provided seats or if you go across the cycle and walking path to enter the beach to relax on your towel.
The rooms were clean and provided ample space to sleep (a little less walking room, but that was okay) and were kept clean. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and was really well organized. The only downside is the area in which it takes place. The size of the hotel is reflected in the breakfast area and as such it's a wide open area prone to a lot of noise.
The only real downside to the hotel is its location, relating to Salou. You'll easily walk 20 to 30 minutes to reach the commercial district, and if you visit for the night scene you'll have to walk another 20 to 30 minutes further. There are good public transit options, even though Google Maps doesn't really reflect this. And a cab is easily arranged as well and is fairly cheap.
