Barcelo Sants
Rooms and prices
Description
We particularly recommend the hotel for business trips due to its proximity to the Exhibition Center and the Congress Palace, as well as developed infrastructure, designed for business meetings and business events. In addition, we will note the hotel's convenient location close to the train station Sants where there is a direct line to the international airport. It is also worth mentioning the original interior of the rooms, simulating the atmosphere of the space.

Reviews
Pros:
1) The property is spacious and well managed
2) It's located at the main metro / train station (Barceló Sants)
3) The staff is very friendly and helpful
4) The rooms are clean
5) The breakfast spread is exceptional
Key considerations:
1) Unlike other cities, Barceló Sants station is not located in central of Barcelona. Hence, you will need to take a metro to travel to any place
2) There are limited English channels on the TV.
The design is quite fascinating and innovative which I like most. Consistency of the same theme everywhere has made this hotel very unique.
Service is good but lady stuffs are sometimes very rude in even they make the mistakes.
Rooms are quite cozy and washrooms are big with good products.
It was not easy to find the entrance but when I did, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a massive hotel hidden above the station.
The rooms were clean and modern, with good pillow options (my pet peeve: poor pillows!). Overall I found it well catered with a gym and an expansive breakfast buffet with good quality ingredients for just about everything you could want.
The hotel has a unique space theme which you'll probably think is either fun or cheesy. I loved it.
Pros:
* Clean and modern
* Responsive and efficient front desk staff
* Extremely easy to reach public transport
* Great buffet breakfast
* Good pillow game
* Fun, unique space themed features including arcade games
* Quiet, despite being above a train station
* Complimentary ice machine
Cons
* Difficult to locate - poor signage in the train station, and a discrete walkway entrance that is easy to miss. Main entrance is also difficult to find as it requires traversing through a rooftop carpark.
* Noisy and small lifts
* Aircon cooling is off by default and is centrally controlled requiring a call to reception to be enabled
* Bathroom door lacks a bit if privacy - it's lightly frosted glass and is difficult to close fully.
Only come here if location is your highest priority. Otherwise spend your money elsewhere.
The whole hotel takes the sustainability angle too far. You'll see what I mean:
The bathrooms are all white - you'll see all the yellow stains throughout. The ventilation is poor so you'll be sitting on moist toilet seats your whole stay. The toilets themselves are very tall - you'll be on your toes when seated. There were signs of moisture damage throughout the bathroom.
The floors are not slanted towards the drains so you'll be standing in a puddle next to the toilet after a shower. The shower heads drip constantly and will disrupt your sleep.
The ground floor toilets have lights that automatically turn on and off when you use a stall. These turn off astonishingly quickly if you are doing number 2s, requiring you wave your hands in the air while your pants are around your ankles.
The heating/cooling is controlled remotely. Fans are always available but we came across a situation where we wanted cool air blowing, it was locked to heating only and had to call the front desk to have that changed. This was in the evening and while we slept, it automatically changed back heating overnight. The room was just way too hot.
The elevators make a distressing amount of crashing and clanging noises. Do not come here for a relaxing experience.
The carpets in the hallways look like they need to be cleaned. There's stains that look concerningly like vomit stains.
Buffet breakfast is high quality but there's no salad bar. After eating heavy foods like paella, meats and cheese you'll want to balance things out. There's salads meant for the omelette station but the chef will get upset if you take it.
Overall the service was very good and attentive. Just watch out if you intend to take salad from the omelette chef.
For first time travellers, you'll be spending and extraordinary amount of time looking for the hotel entrance. The signs from the train station leading to the hotel are marked with a capital H.
H for what? Hospital? Helicopter pad? Help? You'll definitely need it.
I really hope the management take action to the points raised in this review. Looking at their older reviews it seems the same issues were raised but only waved away with lip service and platitudes.
The hotel has really good potential, perhaps enough to be the best accommodation for weary travellers. I wish this business the best.
The room is spotless and spacious. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and the room has all you need for a comfortable stay. Even next to the train station, the place is very quiet.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The entire hotel is designed like you are in the space. Love it :)
