Family of 4 staying overnight in hotel. They refused to check us in as we only had photocopies of our passports. This was not noted on our booking reservation. Refused to give us a refund also! We had to drive back to our hotel in mijas and return to hotel losing half the day. Room was fine but overlooked bars that were extremely noisy. We were also wakened early with roadworks outside hotel. Service in hotel extremely slow especially in rooftop bar. When packing up to leave I also noted some sort of bug in my bed between sheet and mattress.

Would not recommend. They are running a disco on top of their hotel guests. Building site on one side and the loud music with scraping chairs are in the room with you all night. No cups or milk in the room. No extraction in the bathroom. Breakfast was a joke. Cafe con leche served in espresso cups! No fruit or pastries! Menu said 12 euro including cooked eggs OR just pay for what you have. I had 1 tiny coffee, juice, small yoghurt and one tiny green banana. Reception insisted this was 12 euro. They need to read the menu. There are many other hotel options in this area.

Very well-located hotel, at the foot of Malaga's Roman Theatre, with plenty of restaurants in the area. Very friendly welcome, simple but very pleasant and functional room. Good breakfast and really great rooftop bar with views of the Alcazaba!

Location; location, location...my previous reservation some how fell through. I quickly booked this hotel- a tad more than my usual price range but welll worth it!..The hotel is in the midst of the old city, You coukd return back to room to rest and then go out again! I loved the breakfast, you can order from the choices given and thus no wasted food on a buffet. Rooftop view is wonderful, listed as one of the best even from my food guide!

I have stayed in hotels for over 3000 nights in my 70 year life and I have never stayed at such an appalling hotel. The noise in the room was like a night club outside the window until 4AM which made it impossible to sleep. The only WiFi I could get was standing next to the lift-where it worked but not in the room or bar or dining room. The staff who were inexperienced thought it was my iPad but that is not possible as it worked when in range. There were no coffee cups in the room and only two glasses which I tried to drink a coffee from but gave up.The bar which is part of the hotel did not allow drinks to be charged to the room-amazingly poor as well as waiting 20 minutes to be served a gin and tonic. It was nearly €200 per night for two rooms and my colleague had the same experience.I would strongly advise -never stay at this hotel if you want to sleep-which is what hotels are for!!

The best thing about this hotel is the location! Right alongside the Alcazaba, it is in the middle of bustling Malaga and easy walking distance of all the sights! We changed rooms - the Junior Suites are currently overlooking a large long-term building site and are very dark. Rooms to the front maybe noisier and lack the view, but lighter and good shutters do well to keep the noise level down. Roof top bar is nice with great view but very busy. We didn’t eat at the hotel. Pizza restaurant next to hotel entrance (Gusto) is great!

Fantastic location. T wo minutes walk from Picasso museum. Plenty of restaurants outside the door to choose from. Couldn't be better. Large rooms, large shower. Very clean Couldn't fault a thing. Will book again next time I'm in Malaga. Well done.

Stayed here for a week a little while back. It’s such a perfect central location that you can plan to see and do everything Malaga can offer with ease.
My only criticism revolves around noise. Not the noise from the street, but the restaurant and bar on the roof. Every night at closing time you’d hear a lot of chairs being slid across the floor, which naturally echoed through the whole building.
Fortunately we didn’t go there to catch up on sleep and Malaga was beautiful.

Excellent central location hotel.
The luxury room with balcony is spacious.
Excellent breakfast and service.
Difficult check-in due to the lack of
1 passport (my wife's) Driver's license as ID and copy of passport in your mobile also not accepted.
I picked up passport from our apartment in La Carihuela / Torremolinos.
Perhaps superfluous to mention this (2 passports required as a couple!)
Nevertheless, we had a great stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Alcazaba Premium Hotel. I was visiting Malaga for two nights after a long work trip. I booked this hotel for its central location in the city and attractions, and its walking distance from Malagueta beach. The concierge staff was kind and helpful. My room was clean and I loved opening the shutters to people watch and hear the buzz of the city in the summer. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It was great to be so close to the Alcazaba and to have the opportunity to see it in the daylight, sunset, and nighttime. Don't miss the hotel breakfast, incredible coffee and delicious bread! (and vegetarian friendly) The rooftop bar was a nice addition, I enjoyed grabbing a drink and taking in the views of the Alcazaba. If I ever get the opportunity to visit Malaga again, I will absolutely stay here once more!
