Overall, a solid and family-friendly stay. We were allowed to check in early and use the pool, which was a great start. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the housekeeping staff went beyond just changing sheets—they cleaned the floors thoroughly. The food was quite good, especially for non-meat options, and the staff were responsive when we asked about ingredients or dietary needs.

The pool was clean and well-maintained—we saw it being cleaned every evening and morning—and we never had trouble finding a sun lounger. Rooms were spacious enough for our family of four (two adults, two kids), and we felt comfortable throughout the stay.

There were a few downsides: only a few of the poolside showers were functional, and getting to the beach involved a bit more walking than expected. The bar-restaurant in the center of the property is overpriced, so we’d recommend avoiding lunch there. Also, getting a towel from the spa required a deposit, which was a first for us. Lastly, the poolside toilet wasn’t flushing properly, which was inconvenient.

Still, despite a few hiccups, we had a good stay and appreciated the family-oriented setup and thoughtful service.

We chose this over the more expensive sister hotel and it didn’t look the job for a two night stay. Retamar is very much a Spanish resort so the staff didn’t speak much if any English but Google translate got us through. The star of the show was the room, a Junior Suite with an excellent balcony facing the beach. Nice air double room and the hotel kindly put an extra bed in the living room so our two large teenagers could sleep in relative comfort there. The pool was nice and there are games and water slides available for younger kids. For even younger kids a mini water park seemed very diverting. This isn’t a luxury hotel but four star is fair and we had a nice time there.

On tuesday afternoon our flight was canceled and when we arrived at the hotel, the rooms were already ready. We had a small problem with the room and the young receptionist on that day helped with everything.Even booking a taxi for us the next day. We only stayed one night but the hotel looks good

I loved my stay here! Came for a conference which was just in front of this hotel so very convenient for me, a bit difficult to reach the centre at night, during the day there are a lot of buses. The location on the beach was amazing, breakfast very nice, rooms beautiful and clean. Thank you!

I stayed at the hotel for a night, it was really relaxing and I still regret why I didn’t stay longer! The atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant and you could escape from the noisy world for a while ! Room : spacious, clean and neat with stunning sea view. Breakfast: divers, fresh , delicious

Bright, sorry hotel
The hotel has a very interesting architectural design which makes it bright and feel spacious.
The staff were very helpful.
Even though there were not many people staying at the hotel ( October) the bar stayed open until late and the barman was very friendly and helpful.
The only complaint would be that the shower was not brilliant and some woodwork around the doors in the room was rotten.
Breakfast was brilliant. Large buffet with lots of choice in a bright, light room overlooking the pool.

Hotel has great infrastructure, clean and all looks pretty new.

My kids loved the swimming pool and pool park/waterslides.

Hotel feels understaffed, you arrive at the hotel with a car of 3 kids and all bags and nobody there to help at least with opening doors. I whould gladly tip a bus boy to bring all my bags from lobby to room.

Front desk staff was not really friendly and kind of rude talking to you if they don’t understand you or ask to many questions.

Food staff in the buffet/breakfast were the best in the whole hotel - 5 stars.
Food was good that makes up all the other things I didn’t like that much.

They have Porsche charging destination in parking lot that it plug and charge but you need to pay 15€ per night to access it. If you don’t need that no problem parking outside in public parking lot next to hotel.

Have been to a few resorts around the world and this one was one of the best in terms of hotel infrastructure but one of the worse in terms of the way they treat clients.

My family has pretty high standards when it comes to hotels and I was afraid that this would be a little bit below them. But we absolutely loved it. Great hotel, great area great services we like to get out and explore and it was perfect for that, but it also seems to be an ideal place for people who just want to go on vacation and not even leave the hotel. We will definitely be going back.
