Hotel Don Juan Tossa

El hotel está bien, el personal del comedor muy amables y agradables. Sin embargo esa amabilidad brilla por su asistencia en recepción, no te hacen sentir cómodo.

As someone who will not book a hotel without scouring the reviews before hand, I thought it was only fair to return the favour and give my honest opinion of the hotel.

Firstly I would like to say, I don't usually eat meat abroad as it usually not similar to UK meat and I usually just find it gross to be honest. The food at Hotel Don Juan Tossa was a different story, the first hotel I've felt like I could enjoy the meat, they had a variety of it each night including chicken, beef (or veal), pork and sometimes sausages, all of which was cooked amazingly (specifically the beef was amazing, so soft and tasty). Nice big salad bar and also always the option for generic pastas with meat which is comforting when you don't want to try anything new or are feeling fragile from the night before!
The chefs did an amazing job of making sure everyone felt catered for by having a variety of mains as well as dessert. I particularly liked the fact that you could pre-order a packed lunch at reception for the following day for day trips out of the hotel.The restaurant itself is very nice and clean, in the lunch and dinner service you feel as if you are in a real restaurant as you get seated by the host and the amazing waiters come around asking for your drinks orders and bring them to you which is a really nice touch.The reception staff are lovely and in particular there was a young lady who always made us feel welcome and greeted us when we saw her. The rooftop pool bar wasn't open for the duration of our holiday so we did have to get our drinks from the main bar downstairs, however there is a lift or escalators to and from this get to the pool. The cocktails were amazing!! We would definitely recommend the pina colada and the mojito which were possibly some of the best we've ever had. We stayed in the superior triple room which was newly refurbished as you could tell it was lovely and clean and decorated very nice, I was particularly impressed with the mini fridge and balcony in the room however I will note there was no kettle.A special mention to house keeping who were exceptional, everyday the room as cleaned, bed made with fresh towels everyday. I have to say the Entertainment team were incredible. We went from the 8th - 15th October, on the website it explained that they would be celebrating Oktoberfest and Halloween during our time and we went to expecting much but wow. Every night except for a Tuesday they had some kind of entertainment on whether it be live music, a dj or an interactive show put on by the entertainers. They really know how to get you involved and get you up dancing, or playing games to win a German Oktoberfest hat or t shirt. On the Friday and Saturday night they had a "house of terror", all the staff were dressed up in Halloween costumes and the whole hotel was decorated in Halloween decorations. The hotel owns bungalows next door and rents them to guests, they must have cleared out the schedule for this weekend because they turned them into a haunted house! There was a child's version of it during the daytime which I assume was more appropriate for the age, and in the evening had an adults version- I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was definitely not what we got😂 The only thing I could compare it to was something similar to Fright Night in Alton towers! They had amazing actors who were dressed up scary and didn't come out of character once, making strange noises jumping out on us and all sorts- I couldn't believe the hotel had put this on it was honestly the highlight of my holiday😂

So impressed with this hotel, would 1000% go back thank you so much for having us

Rooms are pretty good and big and plthe prices are decent. Breakfast was good. Worth the money.

For the money this is an excellent hotel. Very nice rooms and spotlessly clean. Nice selection of breakfast and evening meals. Would stay again.

Paper cups instead of glasses in rooms. Not the best way to sip wine on balcony. When i asked could I take two glasses from the restaurant I was refused.
Hotel itself decor was very clinical and office like. Restaurant was more like a canteen.
Not enough shade around pool, plus the area could do with refurb. The beach is so close though it didn't matter.
Rooms were spotless and modern and the breakfast was very good value, €12. Hotel in an excellent position. We would definitely return.

We got a room on the 2nd floor which is newly renovated. Everything looks like in a new 4star hotel, we didn't expect that so it was a good start into holiday. Room service was good, came everyday to make our room. Location also very good, not far from the beach and the oldtown. The only negatives were that air conditioner was not working properly, so we had to sleep with open window and everynight at 5-6am the garbage truck comes to collect the garbage in the whole street. The noise is enormous and you get awake instantly. Second negative - walls are paper thin and you can hear what your neighbors are doing. Oh and the double bed was only 160cm wide so for us too small to sleep comfortably.
The ground floor with bar and all the activity zones looks a bit outdated like a 2-3star hotel.

All perfect. The ubication. Only the shower towels were not to my liking. The rest was perfect. And above all, the kindness of the receptionist Nicole, on a scale of 0 to 10, deserves a 10. Take care of her.
