Reviews
+ The location, everything is close.
+ Gym, Sauna and overall very clean facilities.
+ The possibility to borrow bikes, me and baby enjoyed a long bike ride during one of our days.
+ Rooftop bar with a view, simply stunning.
+ The breakfast is splendid.
- The pillows are very hard, felt like cinderblocks at times, apparently that was the only options.
- The room got quite hot at times, to counteract it, we opened the window which made it very noisy, which is to be expected considering it’s in the middle of a capital.
- The price of the room is OK. However the prices in the minibar and for beverages overall around the hotel is very high.
We are two people in two different rooms, and in the other room, the bathroom had also not been cleaned, nor were the towels replaced.
The room lacked complete amenities, such as a shower cap, etc. Additionally, we were given an accessible room for disabled people, which was somewhat uncomfortable.
The room I stayed in was close to the tram line outside and the screach of the track passing until 1:30 am and start again at 6am; for a light sleeper like me was awful. Be mindful when booking they have a room facing the courtyard, it's not a view but at least you'll sleep.
As a business trip it's great for transport with the bus depot being in the shopping centre accessaable by the lift so come rain or snow you'll have a easy onward journey.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
I was shocked to realize that cleaning is not done at all during guest stays. This is not part of their policy, but maybe just how the hotel operates?
No part of the bathroom, including the sink or the trash were cleaned / emptied. Further - and perhaps most annoying / stressful during a work trip - is I was never provided with clean cups / mugs. Every morning I would bring down my dirty dishes to the breakfast buffet for them to be cleaned the kitchen staff.
After writing multiple emails, I finally just approached a member of the front desk staff after my conference presentation. She was a new employee still in training, but she kindly came up to collect all the dirty dishes and provide me with new ones. I requested that she escalate this but I never heard back from the hotel.
All I can say, is that I'm happy I was so busy with the conference that I didn't have to be in my hotel room long... Don't stay here.
*******UPDATE*******
Dear Duty Manager Wilhelmiina,
Thank you for your reply to my review on Google. Unfortunately, this is the only channel I’ve been able to receive a response from your hotel. I must clarify that the issue goes beyond the lack of stayover cleaning services, particularly since I never requested clean towels or sheets.
While I understand and appreciate your hotel's efforts towards sustainability, certain basic amenities and hygiene standards should not be compromised. In particular, guests should not be expected to wash their dishes in the same sink used for personal hygiene, particularly in the absence of a designated kitchen area.
As a paying guest, I do not believe it is unreasonable to expect a minimum level of comfort and cleanliness ie no menstrual blood on the walls nor mold in the shower....
I hope you also can understand my frustration and the need for a more substantive response from your hotel. As I have communicated through multiple channels, including phone calls and emails to your customer service team, I am open to a fair resolution in the form of a partial refund in order to acknowledge the substandard conditions and lack of explanations.
I will write you again via your hotel email.
Best,
Arden
The only problem to my opinion is the heater in the room. Far too hot for me and you cannot stop it. Or at least, I did not understand how.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. 24hr front desk is rare in Helsinki.
Breakfast is awesome with many choices for fruits bread egg and drinks.
Room is decent and very clean.
