Where to stay in Rovaniemi

We arrived well in advance of our check-in time and hardly expected to be let in. But oh, we were so wrong, fortunately! We got to our rooms at 9 am in the morning (being off-season might have helped). Staff was polite and courteous. Got all the information we wanted from the reception. It didn't feel like a 4 star hotel to us. The twin rooms were very small and the beds had really thin mattresses and pillows. The furniture felt flimsy. The double rooms were an adequate size, though. The Monte Rosa restaurant was great and the receptionists were all lovely. Great buffet breakfast and gluten-free food. The location is good if you want to stay in the city centre.

A nice and cozy property in the city centre of Rovaniemi. The city is easily accessible from the venue of the hotel. Everything was excellent! Inside the room there is a very comfortable bed with kettle and mini bar. Bathroom and room are a good size, clean. Staff very friendly, good breakfast.

This hotel was very nice. In a top spot near the river and the CBD, shopping mall etc. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. The restaurant for breakfast was also quite good. Our room did not have its own sauna, but there were male and female saunas near the main lobby. They were huge!, with a lounge, tv, toilets, shower etc.

I go to Rovaniemi every year for work. First time in this hotel. I got a room in the annex. Apparently refurbished but a long way from reception, including an 80m long poorly lit tunnel. Room was spartan with no desk which was frustrating. No business centre and nowhere to work. I'd specifically asked for a quiet room but got the one by the lifts, probably the noisiest. I knew I'd arrive too...

The size of the room is quite big considering the price. Great choices of food for breakfast too. The heating is excellent.

Close by to the airport and Santa village by bus or taxi. 8 euro for bus and 30 for taxi to airport. Hotel is dated but very nice and clean. People say the pool is freezing but we went in several times, but chilly at first but once you in it’s fine. Very nice and friendly staff. The hotel is in a great location with a lakeside view. The location has proximity to many restaurants and shops. The staff were pleasant and polite. The swimming pool was never crowded which was very nice for kids to practice.

Great hotel. One of the hottest chic hotel I have ever been to. Friendly staff, clean and large room, etc. Came during summer hence I felt it was value for money for the price point. Would highly recommend and book direct to enjoy the perks instead of going through third party OTC.

They kept cleanliness. There aren’t any amenity. You don’t take bath towel. There are some kinds of tea and pot. We often use supermarket and we borrowed spoons . We could leave our own luggage in the luggage room both before check in and after that. But that room is easy to come in, so you must use your own key to protect your luggage. However this service is so helpful!

Me and my girlfriend had a very nice stay at Villa Virpi! It's a very cosy and warm place with nice people. And their dog is very cute! We recommend staying here if you travel to Rovaniemi - it is very close to Santa Claus Village (10 minute car ride) and less than 5 minutes walk to the supermarket. Rovaniemi town is only a 5 minute car ride also! Thanks Villa Virpi, we had a great time!

This little family run hotel has exceeded our expectations. Meticulously clean, our apartment offered plenty of space, all the kitchen amenities and a private sauna. Breakfast was fresh and generous (and catered for intolerances), staff - very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely satisfied with price/quality. Small cozy hotel nearby the train station. Well decorated inside with Northern views. Clean and functional, no smells. Came here for only one night before my flight south. Facilities are good (well equipped kitchen!) and the room was clean and tidy, though a bit cold at night. Reception wasn’t that useful for questions, and was strict about check-out time (10:00am).

The staff is super helpful and friendly, they speak English very well (they speak German too). They tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, the breakfast is awesome, the rooms are quiet, clean and cleaned regularly, we got fresh towels regularly too. Room was coldish and could not turn up the heat. Room was ok but they said they upgraded us. Still with minus 14 degrees I would have liked a little bit more warmth.

We stay there for 4 nights. It is warm and clean. The breakfast is good. The sauna is free but we do not have time to try. We can buy post card and stamp. Free wifi is every where. But it is a bit too old, the bed is too soft for us.

Artic Tree House Hotel is truly a magical place to stay, especially when there is snow around. We had a fabulous view from our cottage, which wasn't too far from the reception, so walking to and fro was easy. If required, Reception will send a vehicle to pick up guests. Looks like a wonderful place to ski but in the summer it's a bit drab. Cottages are worn but clean. Sauna did not work. Had to exchange the remote control for the tv. Latte was great, a bit pricey at E 4.90
