Port Royal Hotel in Paris

This was a lovely little historic hotel within metro or walking distance of all the major tourist attractions and located in a safe, scenic neighbourhood. The staff was friendly and helpful and the environment was quiet. I would recommend adding on the continental breakfast -- there isn't a whole lot of variety (croissants, baguette, spreads, yogurt, espresso and other espresso-based drinks), but if you're going to be having a croissant and espresso for breakfast anyway (like I was), it's perfect. I opted for the double bedroom with a private bathroom for comfort and would recommend! I would book here again on my next visit!

My husband has been coming to this hotel for about 30 years. It is a family hotel, run by the same family for four generations. We noticed improvements from 10 years ago, being able to reserve with an American credit card for example. There is also wifi in the rooms. It is quiet and quite well-located near rue Monge and rue Moufftard. We are older so this time we actually splurged for a room with a full bathroom! They do have cheaper rooms where you need to go down the hall or up or down stairs. The breakfast was good value for money with great croissants as well as bread, yoghert, juice, etc. for 10 euros per person. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room we booked for five nights was back from the street, quiet, and had a private bathroom. The room was spacious and well-ventilated. The staff were very polite and didn't accept tips. The 24-hour doorman made it very safe. Highly recommended.

I was completely delighted with my stay at this hotel. It served its purpose as a comfortable, welcoming, and conveniently located inn with easy walking distance to Montparnasse, Jardin des Plantes, Jardin du Luxembourg, and the Latin Quarter. Flying into Charles de Gaulle? Simply take the Blue RER into the city centre and get out at Port Royal Stn., it’s a delightful 10-12 minute walk along the pleasant avenue lined with restaurants, cafes and a street market. They will store your bags if you arrive before 3. Go for a tour in the Latin Quarter, that’s what I did. Splurge for a double bed that faces onto the street and comes with a private shower. No, there’s no tv - you are in Paris, your viewing entertainment is around you ie: Rue Mouffetard is just around the corner. Pay the 10€ for breakfast. Nice people who are very accompanying run this place. Merci Port-Royal Hotel, you made my first night in Paris a wonderful one!

I stayed there some time ago. The hotel was very clean, the room small with a shared toilet, but I was in Paris! The price was really cheap, the staff friendly and helpful. I’d go right back there again! The subway is right across the street. The Luxumberg Gardens is a short walk away. Notre Dame is nearby too. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We spent one night here and were very pleased with our stay. We had a room with a washbasin and a shared toilet, which was stated clearly at the time of booking. This was however no problem for us, since the bathroom was very clean. The room was small, yet clean and cozy. The hotel is old fashioned, which I think adds to the Montparnasse atmosphere. Such a price worthy hotel in the heart of Paris is hard to come by! We were in walking distance to Quartier Latin, Notre Dame, and the Seine. The staff were also friendly and gave us good recommendations for places to eat in the vicinity.

Excellent experience at Hotel Port Royal. Very comfortable room. The place is very well located. The staff at the hotel are very kind and always willing to help. Paris is a wonderful city. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
