This time I was given a room on the first floor and the innermost room. It is not easy to get lost according to the route, but someone tried to open my door at least 5 times last night. I didn't encounter such a thing when I stayed on the third floor last time. I was still a little scared to be alone in the middle of the night.
Worn down place. Madras busted. Sheet smell of nicotine Paint falling off. Cleaning generally ok
Unfortunately the neighborhood was dreadful and everyone pointed out how it was actually dangerous to hang out after dark, we took a taxi to come back at the hotel in the evenings.
The bathroom walls were mouldy and floor always wet because of no shower cabin. Bed sheets were clean and in good condition but the blankets were very old. Walls didn't insulate well and you could hear coughing and voices from other rooms
We arrived late and warmly greeted for check-in. They ask for a city tax and pay cash where possible.
The hotel provided daily maid service with clean linen and towels. Provided is shower gel and soap, a hairdryer, A/C, a safe fridge, and a TV. The bathroom is compact, and the bathroom floor can be slippery when wet. The pillows are hard, but you do get used to them, and the mattress is comfortable.
There is a lift to all floors and a vending machine in the lobby.
The hotel, in my opinion, is fabulous for the price and short stay, and i would definitely stay here again.
My husband was doing the booking and only looked at location, not the reviews nor pictures of the place. And because we arrived almost midnight to leave to cruise port at 9:30 am. It was doable for the night.
If you are on a budget and looking for alternatives to hostel, this could work for you. Be sure to check a day or 2 before arrival ensuring they have your reservation. Don’t want to be without a room if you arrived late like us
