The views from some of the rooms and the Rooftop are amazing. You get to see the Acropolis. The Rooftop parties can be very noisy. The kitchen is not well stocked for cooking or even eating a meal. I could not find any silverware. The rooms are clean. Bring your own lock for your locker. It is a tight fit above your bed. There are some private parties on the roof which you'll have to pay to attend...

Rooms are very spacious, service was good, and there's a great rooftop bar that has amazing views of the Acropolis. They do a great breakfast as well. The only issue with a great rooftop bar and it being a mixture of private rooms and hostel style accommodation is that there is a DJ every night so if you're not a party person and wanting a quiet night's sleep, you might struggle! Odd place. The rooms were truly excellent but no one cleans them when you are still staying over. The rooftop bar is a party scene and VERY loud but at least it stops by midnight. We had the private room with own bathroom, so it's a different experience than most I am sure. But the room and bathroom was great. No tv but not needed as there's much to see around town. AC worked well and shower had great water pressure with hot and cold option. Great location, looks edgy but it is not unsafe. We got a 4-bed room w a private bathroom. Was not cleaned once during the 4 nights we stay there. Rooftop bar could be noisy, but the views are great. And the management at the bar is amazing, also the bartenders! Don’t pay for breakfast, not worth it.

I enjoyed my stay here, the rooms are nice and ensuite relatively clean. The only thing is the room are very cold (you have to go to reception to get a blanket/remote for A/C) and don’t come with a curtain - I would suggest a female only room rather than mixed. The area also isn’t the best, I didn’t feel super safe and refrained from walking outside when it got dark. I met some lovely people here though

It was very noisy- not even with earplugs, because of the road and bar on top. Beds in women room are without curtains, also, I could not lock my bag even if I asked about this on reception. Also, I didn't feel safe as Bar was near and drunk people walked on the floor and vomit in the nearest men's bathroom.

The small balcony in the room is nice, the rooftop terrace is also very good, the staff are very nice, the location is also very convenient, and it is very cost-effective.

The best experience lies in its refrigerator, which makes them special from any other similar hostels in Athens. Considering the price, everything is theoretically Impeccable, beds are good, bathrooms are good, air-conditioning is good, staff are dood.

It`s very old hotel. Close to metro station. Also you can go by foot to the center city, it`s about one kilometer. Bed clothes and towels are old but clean. In my room there was broken shower, so water was on the floor, and wet air.

The room is not bad for such a price. But, be prepared for the stairs as there is no elevator. Well, the bathroom... It's an old hotel! The receptionist is not really welcoming and not friendly.

Very interesting place to stay. Modern rooms and beds and everything. But I don't know why, when I've been there it was really dirty. Also photos on the site don't show how is it in real. Don't expect for something really special.

Lovely hostel with great visitors and staff. Beds are comfortable, the noise outdoors is quiet, and the hostel has a great atmosphere for meeting people. Extended my stay here by 5 days for the reasons above.

Its around 25 days which I am staying in welcommon hostel, the staff are so kind and friendly, its so clean and cheap, they have prepared many classes for our children, it is in a the centeral of Athens. once you see then its difficult to leave it. It's a safe and friendly place! It's also very clean! The location is perfect! I only have one complaint with my room door, the lock was a bit noisy, but it can be quickly fixed with a little adjustment.

Fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights. Your own room with a private bathroom and shower, fresh sheets everyday if you want them, the reception was very nice and helpful, you can even keep your bags there if you are checked out but exploring the city. The location is very close to a main square and many streets lined with restaurants, also walkable to important sites. The location also provides a nice view from the rooftop bar (see the photo). We stayed in Athens for one night before island hopping and Safestay was great! The room was nice and clean and in a great location. It had a rooftop bar with a view of the acropolis and they gave us a free welcome shot. The staff was nice and we would stay here again if we ever return to Athens!

Everything was pretty much great except for the treatment from one of the receptionist. It was the nighttime shift receptionist that kept giving attitude when I tried to ask for help, very passive aggressive and when I tried checking in at first, he kept saying my ID was my drivers license and kept being pushy.

GREAT rooftop open until 1am. Incredible view. Service at front desk was wonderful and helpful. Especially the lady who was very compassionate with my situation (stranded in Athens due to delays and cancelled flights). I booked last minute so missed out on a private room. Only availability was mixed dorm rooms, and personally, I hate these in general, hence the 3 stars for the rooms.

We arrived at 00:50 and desperately needed a place to stay since the check-in for our real stay was a lot later. This Hostel took us in at this spontaneous time and was really friendly and comforting. English was not a problem. VERY VERY CHEAP! The staff here were all helpful and really pleasant to work with. We slept well in rooms that were kept clean and ordered. The food was simple and varied and fresh, with fruit, olives, eggs and toast. As everyone has said, it was an excellent location for exploring Athens. Do not listen to the other negative reviews. This is a satisfactory and comfortable place to stay.

Wonderful central location to walk around Athens. I stayed in a single for privacy etc. The room is appropriate for the price, simple small space, cramped bathroom. The hot water was hot, the bed was reasonable. If you're a larger person the shower might be uncomfortably small. The suggestion to eat at Thanasis, a kebab restaurant nearby was great (order the yogurt kebab).

Great, inexpensive choice for staying in Plaka. The rooms were clean and they serve free breakfast in the morning. This isn't a 5-star hotel by any means but it is nice for a hostel. My 2-person room with a double bed had its own bathroom.

Stayed for 10h, perfect for an overnight. Victoria Square isn't the nicest area but only 1 min from the metro. Mind your head in the rooms, not a lot of room. Friendly staff and good price.

I had a very uncomplicated stay here. I slept here for one night and had no problems with checking-in or -out but didn’t get a key either. The six guys from my dorm room were very considerate so I had no huge problems to sleep there and skip the one extra night I was staying in Athens. Considering the price, it’s nothing more I could have asked for.

Very nice hostel, 10 minutes away on foot from Syntagma place. This is highly feasible to make your whole stay on foot. I stayed there 3 days and did not use public transports at all (except to go to the airport). The owner is very friendly. She gives you maps of the city and advice on where to eat and what to visit. Our stay at the hostel was very nice. We arrived pretty late, but the staff were still up to let us in and show us around. Leaving our stuff at the hostel the entire day we checked out only cost an extra €4. This place isn't fancy (pretty obvious given the price) but it's a good place for budget travelers.

The bed and dormetry was good but the bathroom was way too small. Breakfast was good but the timings were a bit odd (9 to 11). There were some rules for the air-conditioning, they put it on only after 11 pm and wwitchbit off after 12 pm. The location is perfect, just in the middle of touristic center. All the sites are accessible from there.

Mr Christos, the owner and manager of the Hostel is a very helpful person providing advise for the Greece's better cities to visit in an affordable way. His Hostel has a very good location close to the Larissos Metro Station and the Train Terminal. It's a very clean place.

It is not much good hostel but if you want to save some money then it's a good choice to stay for 1 or 2 nights. The owner is a Sri Lankan family and they are really nice. But they don't have a 24 hrs reception.

Fine for 1 night, but nothing special. Shower is small and bed quite hard. Neighbourhood is quite sketchy, when the taxi driver dropped me off he told me to be careful. Also when I stood outside there were 2 homeless people coming out of the ruin across the street. I only stayed 1 night to continue my trip to a Greek island. Although it is central, it is located in a quiet alley. It was a dormitory with 3 beds in one room, so there was plenty of space and the breakfast was satisfactory.
