InterContinental Athenaeum Athens, Athens1 / 27
8.8
Athens, 89-93 Syngrou Avenue 🧭 Map
Very nice hotel in general. High standard of services. All aspects were taken care of by their professional team. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, a lot of options. Although their hardware, like furnitures, were like 20+ years old. TV not working properly, bath drain blocked, furniture broken, etc. I hope they can plan a renovation soon! The hotel is easy to access. But remember...
I recently attended a corporate event at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens by IHG. I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but the hotel itself made a strong impression. The service was excellent, the staff very professional and courteous, and the event space on the 6th floor — with its terrace overlooking the Acropolis — was truly stunning. It’s clear from the moment you walk...
Amazing stay here, way beyond my expectations! Upgraded to the renovated room with Acropolis view, room was clean and big. Housekeeping is attentive. Service is definitely best in class I must say! Special shoutout to Elleni, Eleftheria and Agni from the Club Lounge, thank you for being so personal and endearing to remember my requests. You made my stay at Athens even more memorable :)
We got upgraded to club level which was amazing. The club lounge very nice and well stocked with everything you could want. Everyone was very nice. The new refurbished rooms are top standard compared to the other InterContinental's I've stayed at. The pool was too cold to use, but was October
Our stay at InterContinental Athens was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. George at concierge went above and beyond to help us, and we were even pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which made our stay feel extra special. The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed, giving us the perfect space to relax after exploring the city...
Exceptional hotel! My room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The view from the balcony was remarkable - a picturesque showing of Acropolis, which was gorgeous at sunset and lit up at night. The Club was perfect for lounging and working. The staff was kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and if I'm ever in Athens again, I'll definitely stay again.

Hotel was very good and location of the hotel too! There was small problem that I come early in the morning at 4:30 am . Wanted to pay for early check in . But they told me it’s too early to do that and I should wait!till 9 am 🙄 later on they helped me with early check in. But it put minus for such good hotel
It is very classic and vintage inside the room! But hotel reception and doorman are very thoughtful and helpful on every guilde to everyone! Breakfast is amazing for traveller like me must wake up by good food’! So It is definitely a standard of 5 star and the location surround by great local cuisines with reasonable price! If you come for city walk for short! This hotel is the best of choice!
Best hotel I have ever been!!!!! Location, facility, lobby, service, breakfast!!! The best.!!!! I jus told them is my birthday and they added a cute nice cake!
door/wall/floor is not soundproof,we can even hear the men talking in the corridor ,and the sound of dragging a chair upstairs. The water pressure is way to low when I was taking shower.
The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially this lovely lady Miss Xenia who helped me split my day tour into two days according to my flight schedule. She even allowed me to check out later, so I didn't have to rush for the flight. I could come back, take a nice shower, rest, and pack. The breakfast and room service food were delicious, and the rooftop pool offered an amazing...
We arrived after our early morning flight and the bellman were very polite and took our baggage straight to storage but the front desk was quite rude to us about how early we arrived - I didn’t ask to check in and didn’t expect to, so there was no need to be rude. We only had 1 day in Athens so being well located to the main sites was important. This hotel was walkable to everything including the...

The hotel has complete facilities and beautiful environment. It is close to the sea. It was windy and cold in Athens these two days, so I couldn't go to the beach. It's a pity. I will stay here in the summer.
RThis hotel is truly exceptional. The spa is beyond compare, and the front desk staff consistently go above and beyond to guarantee a delightful stay. They welcome you with genuine smiles and are ever prepared to fulfill any need. The accommodations are exquisitely adorned, offering a seamless combination of coziness and opulence. Furthermore, the on-site restaurant boasts a varied menu that caters...
I had the pleasure of staying at the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in September for a work conference, and it was truly an outstanding experience. Not a 5 stars resort experience when compared to recent units on the Athens Riviera and…In urgent need of overall renovation, since the early 2000´s. F/B performance, breakfast buffet setting and quality « locked » on the stingy eighties standards: out of the hot buffet servings there us extra charge for eggs, 15€ for room service charge etc…
Our flights were cancelled so Aegean Air sent us to this hotel. While checking in, they handled bus loads of people with ease. They were polite, helpful, and caring. The rooms are fantastic, chock-full of free amenities and bonuses, even if the walls are a bit thin. The outdoor pool area is nothing short of stunning and we couldn't comprehend how expansive the gym/spa area was. It was a shame we were...
This is the second stay for our family at this hotel and once again it exceeded our expectations. This is a lovely hotel. Our room was perfect. Lots of towels, robes and slippers. Very nice sized frig and housekeeping was very good. For qualifying members, food and service was terrific daily. Although I must suggest that you leave the food out until the stated time. Breakfast is amazing! We thought so and I overheard another guest describe it as the best he's ever had in a hotel. If you do the...
The Athens Marriott has an excellent location—right in the middle of everything. The hotel offers valet parking, the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast has a good variety of options. The only area for improvement is the club lounge. The TV didn’t work properly, and the water and Coke machines often spilled onto the floor. I would suggest moving the lounge to the rooftop. Additionally...
The Athens Marriott is a beautiful hotel, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the service and staff. From the moment I arrived, Mary Ann went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She is, without a doubt, the heart of the Athens Marriott. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made every interaction a joy. She has that rare gift of making guests feel like family, always greeting...
We are currently staying at the Marriott Hotel and couldn’t be happier with our experience. One of the standout highlights of our stay has been the exceptional service from Mary Ann, the hostess in the lobby. A Memorable Stay at Athens Marriott ✨ I’ve been fortunate to travel around the world and stay at many hotels, but the Athens Marriott truly stood out — thanks in large part to one exceptional staff member, Mary Ann. The location is average, the transportation is not convenient. The service is OK, but the rooms near the street are very noisy, the sound insulation is relatively poor, and there are all kinds of car and motorcycle noises downstairs in the middle of the night.

We stayed at the Sofitel Athens Airport following a cruise, and found it to be exceptional. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. Had a fantastic stay at Sofitel Athens airport. The staff were super easy to deal with, the hotel is beautiful, and the food was great with really generous portions. They even surprised me with wine and chocolates for my birthday, which made it extra special. Highly recommend!
Beautiful & convenient to Athens Airport. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I enjoyed all the Amenities and the food was Excellent!! Would stay there again!!
What a great surprise and experience. Beautiful interior design, great reception staff and a wonderful and quiet room. The BIG surprise was the rooftop restaurant. We were staying at another "nice" hotel that had roaches in the room. We moved at the last minute to the Sofitel, and everything about it was great. It was very nice, as expected of a first-class hotel with a long history. It's located in Syntagma Square in the center of Athens, so it was convenient to go anywhere.
Overpriced and room with no view! Totally overrated hotel.
Great location. We chose a room on the 7th floor overlooking the central square and the Greek Parliament. From my room, I could clearly see the Acropolis and Panathinaiko stadium. The hotel is old-fashioned so the room is not spacious. I stayed on the 7th floor, below the restaurant, so at night the sound of tables and chairs being moved kept me awake.

Interesting Hotel. Beautiful Building and Lobby. Room was done with colored LED lights, black wallpaper, and appeared to be a "chic, modern, and unique" design. This hotel somewhat luxurious. I say this because the interior design is not consistent. there's one hall area needs to be updated, there's another staircase that don't match with the rest of the interior. Location, location, location. Within walking distance to the Parthenon and Olympic Stadium. Shops and restaurants nearby. Views from the rooftop restaurant are amazing. Pool/lounge area is great. Mattress was a little firm for my taste but overall a great place to stay.
Had a mixed experience at this hotel. For starters it is certainly not a five star hotel and nowhere close to it. The lobby is very nice and they have a pretty restaurant upstairs with a nice view of the acropolis. In terms of location it doesn’t get better than the location that they have. That’s about it for the positives. The rooms are very much dated and they need serious renovations. All the...

The hotel is in good condition in all aspects. I will continue to choose this hotel next time.
I made a reservation because I was on a business trip and there were no hotels with twin beds, but it was better than I thought and easy to find.
The hotel is very close to the Acropolis. You can see the night view of the Acropolis from the balcony at night. Highly recommended.
Old hotel but in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis. The restaurant on the top floor of the hotel overlooks the Acropolis, perfect for dinner. Afternoon tea by the swimming pool is quiet and comfortable, also a must.
I stayed for 7 days and it was pretty good. It's very close to the Acropolis and very convenient. There are some big stones of Athens' ancient monuments in the dining area on the underground first floor of the hotel. The breakfast is very good. The hotel has a recommended parking lot. If you can find a parking space on the surrounding streets, it is free, but it is difficult to find
The front desk service is proactive, warm and thoughtful, and the attitude is very good. The recommended rooftop garden restaurant and bar, with a stunning view of the Acropolis from afar. We were not sure where to stay for a night in Athens and this place didn’t disappoint. Firstly a shout out to the bell boy who was amazing, courteous, helpful and a wealth of information. The hotel is walking distance to the Acropolis and the Panathenaic Stadium as well as several other places to see. If you walk along the street, there are many restaurants and small shops. Our favorite was a gelato...
We had an incredible stay at COCO-MAT Athens BC! The location is fantastic—right next to top food spots and great shopping, in a safe area. The beds were clean and comfortable, and from the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—the front desk was welcoming, the bellman service attentive, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully...
Modern hotel in a great location! The Acropolis view from our room was amazing to see. The breakfast is very good and the staff are nice. Unfortunately, the rooftop pool has been permanently closed which I was not aware of until check-in. I booked through the Capital One travel portal which still shows a pool under amenities. The photos on Google Maps also show a pool which is misleading. For that...
The hotel are very nice and friendly stuff . Location is great and close to the center town .
Great location, 5 mins walk to most attractions. Service is below average on a 5-stars hotel standard, or can say quite minimal service, more “help yourself “ style. Room is quite small. One of the selling points of the hotel, the rooftop view, wasn’t available. Overall it feels like a nice 4-stars hotel sitting in a very good location, but definitely below expectation on a 5-stars standard.
The location was in the heart of the city with breathtaking views of the Acropolis, and Parthenon Museum. We enjoyed our stay & love the area and services of this hotel. We will return again! The roof-top bar / Restaurant and pool are amazing!! meals were great and the drink flowing! The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean, and small compared to Texas rooms! We loved it anyway! Super clean...

The place is excellent, clean, and has a good location, but it is about 40 minutes away from downtown. It is close to the Four Seasons and 5-star restaurants.
The room is clean and tidy. The room service is very good. They deliver water and two chocolates every day. The taxi service is also very good. The outdoor swimming pool is even more beautiful.
Excellent hotel located to the beautiful south cost of Athens walking distance from the beach. Very tasteful local dishes are provided to the hotel restaurant. Very friendly personnel.
I was at the hotel for a conference, but I did not stay overnight. I used the restaurant for both lunch and dinner, and their dishes never disappointed me. The location of the hotel is excellent, with the only drawback being the very small parking lot.
I stayed at the Margi for one night in transit between the Cyclades and my flight out of Athens. The service from all staff members was impeccable, but I particularly appreciated the wait staff at Malabar. Our server at dinner gave us some excellent recommendations that led to a delicious and very satisfying meal. I took advantage of the spa services and it was one of the most comfortable spa experiences...
Very nice pool area with a great bartender. Tiny pool though and not very attentive staff. Rooms are good, nice standard and the whole hotel as such feels good and comfortable. The food is very good and so is the breakfast. Close to the beaches.
