Athenaeum Intercontinental, an IHG Hotel1 / 26

Athens, 89-93 Syngrou Avenue 🧭 Map
Very nice hotel in general. High standard of services. All aspects were taken care of by their professional team. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, a lot of options. Although their hardware, like furnitures, were like 20+ years old. TV not working properly, bath drain blocked, furniture broken, etc. I hope they can plan a renovation soon! The hotel is easy to access. But remember...
I recently attended a corporate event at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens by IHG. I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but the hotel itself made a strong impression. The service was excellent, the staff very professional and courteous, and the event space on the 6th floor — with its terrace overlooking the Acropolis — was truly stunning. It’s clear from the moment you walk...
Amazing stay here, way beyond my expectations! Upgraded to the renovated room with Acropolis view, room was clean and big. Housekeeping is attentive. Service is definitely best in class I must say! Special shoutout to Elleni, Eleftheria and Agni from the Club Lounge, thank you for being so personal and endearing to remember my requests. You made my stay at Athens even more memorable :)
We got upgraded to club level which was amazing. The club lounge very nice and well stocked with everything you could want. Everyone was very nice. The new refurbished rooms are top standard compared to the other InterContinental's I've stayed at. The pool was too cold to use, but was October
Our stay at InterContinental Athens was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. George at concierge went above and beyond to help us, and we were even pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which made our stay feel extra special. The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed, giving us the perfect space to relax after exploring the city...
Exceptional hotel! My room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The view from the balcony was remarkable - a picturesque showing of Acropolis, which was gorgeous at sunset and lit up at night. The Club was perfect for lounging and working. The staff was kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and if I'm ever in Athens again, I'll definitely stay again.

A pleasant trip, unforgettable experience, convenient transportation, beautiful environment, clean and comfortable hotel, generally satisfactory, the facilities are a bit old, the details need to be improved
Really liked the rooftop bar/restraurant with view of acropolis. Was also allowed access to room early & upgraded to premium room so really pleased with this hotel.
Conveniently located close to 2 metro stations, nice room, friendly service, good breakfast, several good options for lunch/dinner in walking distance.
In the morning a lot of noise wake you up from 7.30. The cleaning Pakistani guys room was next to our rooms…
I have led multiple groups overseas. This is a fantastic hotel. Centrally located. Excellent food rooms are clean and very comfortable. The rooftop restaurant and bar has an unbelievable view of the Acropolis. Highly recommend.
Even though the hotel is an older one, service was excellent - the staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast and coffee were excellent and the rooftop view was a fabulous one. The elevators are busy in the morning as can be the breakfast bar at around 8 so get to there early!

Great hotel! Great location, coffee food and cocktails! Room was always cleaned, breakfast is okay! Only thing is the pool is always so busy, very hard to get a seat at times. But would stay again regardless :)
Staff was friendly and on the ball, quick service with a smile. Setting is stunning on the rooftop pool deck, and about an 8 minute walk to Monastaraki square with good things to see along the way. Thank you for a great stay!
Stayed for 3 nights after a NCL cruise. Perfect hotel. Staff are brilliant. Room was clean, comfortable and had complimentary cold beers, waters, red wine and coffee machine waiting. Staff speak good English and are always helpful, cheerful and friendly. Thanks to the Hotel team for a nice welcome, great drinks (cocktails are super) , top quality food, and perfect service. Lifts are very slow though
We stayed a week at the Stanley and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooftop pool is spectacular and the views are amazing. The rooms are comfortable. The hotel is centrally located with several good restaurants nearby. Best of all, the staff is very helpful and will arrange for cars, tours, etc.
We stayed 2 nights following our cruise. What a fabulous hotel! The location is great, the metro is just around the corner, 4 stops for the Acropolis, 3 stops for the parliament with changing of the guard and there are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and good quality. We loved the rooftop bar and swimming pool and although we didn't use the restaurant...
We stayed at The Stanley for 3 nights. Each day we enjoyed views and drinks alike in the incredible rooftop bar; with views of lycabettus and the acropolis in sight. The pool was inviting. The service and food was incredible: specifically commendable staff members, were CHRISTOS our waiter when we enjoyed dinner at the Cloud 9 restaurant. He was kind, talkative and even suggested local drink and food...

Close to Kato Patisia metro station. Good breakfast, location is OK. Not the best area in Athens but it was a good money for value.
It is clean and no facilities to make tea/ coffee. No water provided. The staff were not polite. Breakfast is good. No tourists information available
Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the 4-Star Claim I stayed at Xenophon Hotel in Athens and was quite disappointed. Although the hotel claims to be 4-star, that rating likely dates back to when the building was renovated for the Olympics. The exterior and interior feel old and worn. The bathroom was especially underwhelming — very small shower area with a dirty, wet curtain constantly brushing against...
A big hotel close from the metro station Kato Patisia (10-minute ride to the center). The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast could be improved. Overall, it could be a good alternative to city center hotels if you can manage the transportation.
Hotel is near to bus stop, Metro station. B. Fast is OK . Cleanliness is OK. Rooms are not so much isolated as you can hear many sounds fun other rooms. Good value for the price.
Walking distance to the Metro, good breakfast, friendly and accommodative staff. Nice old retro feel, especially the lift. All in a good experience and great value for the money.

We were there for a total of 9 nights, the last of which was 10-16 Sep. Room 807 and 3-6 Sep 809. Amazing location . Check in staff was exemplary Aggeliki perfect face of Electra, warm and welcoming. Breakfast was everything and more service at the breakfast buffet was spot on Costi looked after our Greek coffee every morning.
Very good location, service The bathroom is a bit old The cleaning of the room is not very detailed, some small places are... Only one bottle of water is given, and it is the same for two days. Only 1L is given when checking in It is good that there is no bathtub on the 9th floor, but there is a bathtub on the 4th floor
Prior to booking, I checked the reviews to Electra and found many unsatisfactory reviews. After having stayed there for 6 nights, I can leave this review and say that this hotel deserves 5 stars! The staff were accommodating and friendly from beginning to end, helping me and my family navigate the city and even offering us complimentary to-go breakfast on our last day because out flight left earlier...
Small, but clean and quiet room. Helpful desk staff, Good breakfast with a great view of acropolis. Less than 5 minute walk to metro station. Easy access to hop on, hop off busses. Plenty of dining and shopping options in area.
Satisfied with the service, clean with good public amenities. Room clean and well equipped. Overall good value for price.
The room is very outdated and small for three people, especially the toilet. The sliding door of toilet is not working properly and we could hardly open. Yet, the location is very convenient and within ten minutes walking distance to Syntagma metro station.

I was impressed with this hotel for the price I paid. Very centralised, with the metro station right there. Restaurants, shops, supermarkets only steps away. The hotel itself is very comfortable. Lovely hotel with loads of amenities and such lovely staff! Breakfast was fantastic and I found a gem, the honey comb, was to die for! 😋
Overall good experience ,solo travellers look for solo rooms for a great deal.easy access to metro and all main attractions within 2-3 kms.
This was my third stay at this hotel, although the start was a bit bumpy as the very nice jacuzzis at the rooftop were not activated at check-in, the manager immediately tried to find a solution and a short time later the jacuzzis were usable. The rooms are fine, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is exceptionally good. As a compensation, because the jacuzzi was not yet active the day...

If you like a quirky hotel, then this is for you. It has a 60s theme but with 70s music constantly playing. The decor is disco themed and they even have disco balls outside the lifts. Arrived in late evening of November 25, had a confirmation of my overnight stay, they could not find my reservation. They eventually found my reservation, asked for a 3am wake up call for an early flight out of Athens Airport, only for receptionist to ring my room at 3:26 am, to inform my Suttle bus was due to leave at 3:30 am. I kindly asked him to keep bus waiting for me, and asked him why he...
For one night stop over maybe two nights it is an ideal spot. They don’t serve lunch or dinner and one has to go to the restaurants outside or to the hotel next-door to get food. However, their breakfast is well above average. I would definitely stay there again and I will
Exceeded our expectations! A much better and more affordable option than the Sofitel. While it’s not within walking distance from the terminal, the hourly shuttle bus makes up for it. The staff were friendly and patient, and the rooms are spacious—perfect for families on a short layover. However, if your layover is during the day, don’t expect many activities to keep the kids entertained. The breakfast...
Good location for a layover—if you plan to stay longer you’ll need a car or be prepared for taxis or public transportation. Only one food option around (within hotel) otherwise. Staff were friendly and there’s reliable wifi and comfy beds (despite the sheets not completely covering the bed). The problem was the room, mainly the soundproofing or lack thereof. I was woken up by the sound of a full...
Very nice hotel if you want something close and calm near the airport go here. Only downside is that it is kind of in the middle of nowhere so if you want to get food only thing to get is at the gas station. If you like quiet go here.
Great place to stop for an early flight. The shuttle goes to the airport ever hour. the front desk is very helpful and the rooms are super nice.

Really nice stay at this hotel. The location is perfect - the breakfast really good quality. Air con :) Fitness center good. Roof top pool small but nice when the weather is really hot. We really enjoy our stay.
Great hotel with excellent service! It's perfectly located. Big thanks to Luis and Alexandra at the reception for making my stay even better!
Many defaults in the room. Broken window. Bad air-condition. Pool was very cold
This is a great value conveniently located hotel in Athens beside the Omonia metro station. A smart rooftop pool and bar area, good breakfast and above all friendly staff. I must commend one of the reception staff who went above and beyond in his interactions with us.
A great location in middle of Athens near the Omonoia square. Room service was always good, hotel service “reception” was great too except the time when we arrived they were ok making a silly assumption. There is a pool “not a swimming one” and a bar with a great view. You can have a cocktail while sun bathing. Will stay there again when I come back
The hotel is just across the street from the subway red line , three stops from the acropolis and at 1.20euro one way per person. The hop on and off bus was there as well . The breakfast was included with the room cost and was fantastic ! The view of the acropolis at night is not to be missed . The staff exceptional, the room European . Great stay all around. The neighborhood, well ????but local restaurants...
Very close to the stop for the red go on go off bus. Everywhere we needed to go was within walking distance. We only ate breakfast in the hotel. The standard was very high. Such an array of choices, definitely recommend it.

*This review is only for the restaurant* We dinned there after a wedding ceremony. The prepared menu was neatly cooked and all the varieties of meat tasted great. For a restaurant of a 4-star hotel though, it wasn't something spectacular. The waiting staff were fast and polite, despite the 70 people that they had to serve. If you want to stay here, you will possibly enjoy the restaurant too.
To close to main highway. Lot's of sound from it. Breakfest meniu is poor.
Nice rooms, fluffy pillows. Breakfast is good, served 7-10am and until 11am on sunday. Good varuety of fruits, eggs, breads and yogurt. The juice is very sweet. The restaurant seems to never be open, so we havent been. The pool is nice, but not very clean. Its windy here so i imagine its difficult to keep clean with all the surrounding trees. We are in a view of the pool, and what looks like a junk...
Value for money... it could be better
The hotel was amazing with very friendly staff and the breakfast was fantastic. The room was great and clean. The host in the restaurant, George was really cute and nice. I would definitely stay there again, wish I could stay longer.
The best swimming pool in Athens, we love visiting Fenix because it is a tranquil place where we can enjoy our swimming.

Good breakfast Good location n surrounding area in the city
Excellent location, good breakfast, very close to shopping area.

The hotel itself is ok but there is a bar attached that is very noisy until around 2.30 in the morning making it impossible to sleep. Staff nice but helpless to do anything about the bar. The acropolis bar on the 7th floor is gorgeous. Location is good, breakfast is average, the beds are comfy when you can actually get any sleep. Done 3 nights and never again

Great Value! Very nice clean hotel with excellent staff at an ideal location in the heart of Athens. A 2min. walk to syntagma square, to the national garden, shopping, and metro. A recently added roof restaurant and bar has an almost 360 degree view of the city! Highly recommended!
My daughter and I went over a year ago and I still remember it as part of the best part of our trip. We stayed at the hotel for one night before our cruise. We stayed here in late May and booked 2 rooms. One of the rooms was for 3 people, but it was relatively small and only had one bed. One of us slept on a cot so there was not much room to walk around. The family room is average, the window is an interior view, looking out to an atrium. There is no sun, and the sofa bed is average in texture. The bottled water in the refrigerator seems to be charged, but I didn't drink it anyway. The advantage is that the breakfast is very rich. One meal is enough for half a day.

The sanitation is acceptable. The service attitude is also very good. The only thing I want to complain about is their parking lot.
