Me and partner came here for a week at the start of October. Upon entering the hotel at 11:30pm we were welcomed and checked in really quickly. They had also arranged some food for us which was amazing and really tasty. The room was absolutely beautiful. We had a private pool room which was perfect and exactly what we wanted. We had everything we needed in the room, slippers, robes and toiletries. Only issue we had in the room was the smell. Most days there was a sewage smell when we ran the tap. But it quickly disappeared after a few minutes. The pool area was stunning with super comfy beds as well. It’s only a small pool so not many beds. Food and drinks were good as well. Lots of different varieties so we never went hungry. The beach was lovely with the best sun loungers as well, really comfy which was a bonus. The beach bar was great as well. The staff are absolutely incredible. Always on hand to help with everything! They arranged a trip to Samaria gorge and even did us breakfast and lunch which was sweet. The only downfall was having to pay extra on our last day for all inclusive. We had an evening flight and had to be out of the room by 11am. We opted to leave the room at this time but had to pay €30 for the 2 of us to eat and drink for the day. Slightly disappointing as we missed the all inclusive on the first day of arriving. Overall, really beautiful hotel, great location with incredible staff

We had the most wonderful stay at Eliros Mare in Crete! The hotel was absolutely beautiful; stylish, spotless, beautiful grounds and perfectly located. The staff were amazing, so warm and welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. A special thank you to Hazel, who made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. We ate and drank far too much (as you do on holiday!), but everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The weather was glorious and we spent our days lazing in the sun with a good book in hand—pure bliss. If you’re looking for a relaxing escape with top-notch service and a touch of luxury, this is definitely the place to go!

Our stay at this hotel was a huge disappointment and, unfortunately, wasted holidays. Instead of relaxation, we were given dramatic conditions that endangered the health of our family. ⚠️ Attention for families with children – please be extremely cautious if you are considering this place with a child. The room we were first given was in terrible condition. The very first thing we noticed was a disgusting smell of cigarette smoke. On top of that, there was visible mold on the walls and ceiling, and the whole room was damp. This was not a minor flaw but a serious issue that immediately affected the health of our 5-month-old son. The baby started coughing every time he was in the room, and at night he couldn’t sleep or be calmly fed. We were forced to go outside with him, wrapped in blankets, just so he could breathe and calm down. This situation is absolutely unacceptable, especially in a so-called 5-star hotel. First of all, the hotel is advertised as 5 stars. Don’t be fooled – it is nowhere near that standard. At best, this is a 3-star level, and even that would be generous, as mold and cigarette odor in a “non-smoking” room should never happen in any hotel. After reporting the problem, we had to wait until the next day for another room to become available. One sleepless night. The new room was supposedly bigger and better, and it didn’t smell of cigarettes, but mold was clearly visible on the ceiling and in the bathroom. Our child kept coughing, and all we could think about was going back home. On top of that, there were insects everywhere – mosquitoes all over the walls, including marks from smashed ones. Despite closed windows, our baby ended up covered in bites. The bathroom was so moldy and dirty that we were disgusted to even enter it. We had to bathe our son on the balcony in a small pool. We reported this room as well, and on the third day we were moved again – this time to a room on an upper floor. It was less damp and the “best” of the three, but still dirty, with a moldy air conditioning unit that was impossible to use because the smell was unbearable. Once again, we had to sleep with the window open, which meant being bitten by even more insects. Of course, we reported this too, but by then we had no strength for another move. It was clear to us that this was not about one room but the general standard of the entire hotel. If you expect cleanliness from a hotel – you will not find it here. There are no cleanliness standards at all. Mold is everywhere, the smell of sewage, dirt, and overall neglect. Not to mention the completely undeserved 5 stars. And that’s not all – we were also charged a “environmental tax” of 15 euros per day, which is a rate applicable to genuine 5-star hotels. As I have already said, this property has nothing to do with 5-star standards – neither in cleanliness nor in infrastructure. The idea of this fee is to contribute to a better environment and healthier conditions for guests, while in our case we ex

This is our 2nd time staying in this lovely hotel. Main reason we stayed again was because of the wonderful staff and the delicious food. We really loved our 10 days here.

The Eliros Mare hotel is in a great location right on the beach, staff were amazing throughout, they’re so attentive and accommodating and went out of the way to make sure we had a perfect holiday. The hotel is really clean throughout, the food was excellent with a really broad range of choice, we couldn’t fault it at all. The hotel isn’t too big but has all the amenities that you need, the sunbeds on the beach are really comfortable and there was always some spare. It was a bonus having one of the restaurants right on the beach so we could easily wander for drinks and lunch. I definitely recommend the hotel if you’re looking for a really easy and comfortable beachside stay without having to wander too far during the day, the highlights are the cleanliness staff and food!

This holiday cost us £11,000.00 for 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 children. this was a fair price for a 5* hotel. But it wasn't it was a 3-4 at best. My parents were put in a room with my daughter, it was not even big enough for 2 people let alone 3 (room 104, I paid for superior and it was not) they had to stay in it for the 1st night as the hotel was full, the room was damp, dinghy and full of bugs, my eldelery mother was bitten all over. They were moved the next day to a slightly bigger room that was not as damp but still full of bugs and was not superior. My room was slightly bigger, but it was also full of bugs, every time we put the aircon on it smelt like the sewers. The drinks were below average, some were awful. The food was average, again it was definitely not 5* On a plus note* The staff were all very nice. The hotel was nice other than the rooms. The beach was beautiful. And we all still had a lovely 10 days despite the rooms.

The Hotel was lovely, very clean and well presented. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming/friendly, they focused on you enjoying your Holiday and relaxing which was great. we wanted a relaxing atmosphere and a not too child mad holiday with great facilities and on a good beach, we were NOT disappointed! (The kids facilities were fantastic with there own pool and entertainment) The food was amazing, I 100% recommend having dinner in the beach restaurant, we had a fantastic meal (so much food) and set in a perfect setting early evening looking out across the beach. Some advise though, when we looked at the menu initially we thought you would have to choose from the options but in fact it’s the whole menu that you have! So your options were fish or meat! So plenty of food and lots of different flavours and dishes to explore. The all inclusive package was perfect for us as a family as we only had to provide our room numbers at the bar or restaurant and the rest was taken care off (no scruffy wristbands) and the food was simply amazing, so much choice at breakfast, Lunch, Dinner etc from local dishes to a range of foods from around the globe inc salads, meats, cheeses, fruits, desserts etc. I would say there is not much in the immediate vicinity to do other than a few shops and restaurants etc, but a local town Rythmos is only a twenty minute bus ride away and that’s from outside the Hotel and very cheap (€3.20 per person) also very easy to get there and back etc, a wonderful little old town and Harbour with plenty to see inc usual shops and restaurants along with the harbour itself. This was enough for us as our Holiday purpose was complete relaxation and it didn’t disappoint. You have entertainment every evening at the beach restaurant as they have a stage area next to it with seating outside which had everything from Prize Bingo to acrobatics, singers and instrument players, this all finished at around 11:00pm so still meant you could relax knowing you was not kept up all night with loud music and disturbances etc. The weather was beautiful and Hot but there was plenty of shade on the beach and around the pool with lots of beds and umbrellas etc and with free water stations or of course the bars and restaurants you were always hydrated lol! We would 100% return to this Hotel and would definitely recommend it.

We loved our stay at Eliros Mare and definitely did not want to leave! The few areas to improve/negatives didn’t really detract from how much we enjoyed our holiday. Overall a really beautifully designed and clean hotel with great staff, food and drink. We go into detail below so you can understand the hotel better - but bear in mind despite any small criticisms we would recommend the hotel as on the whole we thought our stay was amazing. FYI The typical guests seem to be young families and couples also majority German speaking guests but all staff speak English too. FOOD The buffet was extremely varied but also had options (fresh pizza, salad, bread, cheeses and cured meats) available everyday. There was also always pasta but the type changed each day. The grill option changed everyday - the only thing we did not enjoy is the bao buns, as found the bun was dry. We really enjoyed the food and lunch time was excellent too, our favourite being the Gyros and Souvlaki. The range of sauces and dips is amazing too - the tzatziki was delicious. Breakfast has great choice although unlike lunch/dinner is mostly the same each day - it’s continental and American style. Omelettes cooked to order are available everyday but would have been nice to see this varied a bit (however we don’t like omelettes so others may disagree). They advertise a champagne breakfast on Sundays but I noticed this was put on a couple of times during our 7 day stay which was nice. We didn’t eat at the buffet at the beach restaurant, it had less choice and the food was not labelled. To improve, I think for lunch the beach restaurant should just be a grill instead of a buffet with eg gyros, souvlaki and some chips made available, this would be better than two buffets. As this sort of thing is available at the beach restaurant for half board guests to purchase, I think it should be available everyday to all inclusive guests to some extent at least. Also the beach buffet is not as good as the main buffet (way less options, no grill and not labelled) so to us it became redundant - why not do something different at the beach restaurant if that buffet can’t compete with the main buffet? It’s only a short walk between. The beach restaurant lunch offering was our one main criticism of the food but as the main buffet was great it didn’t really impact our stay but could be improved. Snacks are available throughout the day at the beach bar. We ate once at the a la carte restaurant. It is a set menu where every dish is served. We felt the salad and bean dish was slightly out of place and would work better in much smaller portions alongside the meats - maybe this is just personal preference, but eating them on their own was a bit odd. The meat course was really tasty but as there are 5 courses, smaller portions of each course would be better. The appetisers and desserts were lovely. Overall we preferred the buffet (we liked selecting our own food) and as it was so varied it didn’t become rep

Incredibly Beautiful hotel, great location with easy connecting bus route right on the door step to go visit Chaina or Rethymno which are very beautiful places too. The rooms are done to a very high standard, very clean and keep clean throughout our stay. The staff were incredible throughout our stay from the reception team, animation and catering, very friendly and always on hand to help with anything. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, we went as a family and they were fantastic with our child. We will 100% be going back again in the near future! Can’t wait!!
