Reviews
This is not a luxury property and it is not a hotel. It is not even 3 star. It is at best an AirB&B with breakfast brought to your room. And, as a previous owner of AirB&B properties I can attest that this is not a good one. The place is in disrepair and there is no one on site to take care of you. The only way to reach the owner is to call or chat on WhatsApp. Sometimes he’ll answer. And it is unsanitary! (See last comment)
The view is fabulous. The size of the room is nice. But here are many things that are wrong with it:
–There are two floors with bedrooms in the top unit (4 flights of stairs). You only receive towels for one, unless requested for more. Wash rags and hand towels are hard to come by. Once I asked for two wash clothes, as none were given to us. He brought us one washcloth and one dish towel.
–There are no lights on the nightstands of one of the beds.
–The glass that looks down from the top to bottom floor is seriously cracked.
–The shower is very slippery. Bring a bathmat (he won’t provide one) or use a towel in the shower.
–The shower door won’t close. Expect there to be a lot of water on the floor after showering.
–The bathroom sink drains poorly. Pull out the stopper before running it.
–They provide bathrobes but they are frayed. One of the belts was frayed, so they tore it in two and gave us half of a belt!
–There is a wonderful balcony, but two chairs at the table and only one chair for sitting.
–The AC unit in the building next door is very loud. Bring earplugs.
–There is a skylight above the downstairs bed. It can’t be closed. Bring a face mask if you need dark in the morning.
–There is no closet! There is one clothes rack downstairs. There are no drawers or shelves to put your clothes into.
–The toilet paper is mounted 5 feet from the ground. Shorter people won’t be able to reach it from the toilet.
–Breakfast is delicious, but make sure there is butter for the toast and the correct milk for the coffee. Otherwise, you’ll have to go down 4 flights of stairs to get it, or text the owner on WhatsApp.
–There are 2 glasses in the cupboard. Bring glasses if you have more than two people.
–The furniture is old and worn.
–The wall mirror is on a chain hanging from the ceiling, and doesn’t lay flat.
– The bathroom sinks are small, with little counter space. There are low ledges by the floor to place things.
The floor sags so much in some places it feels as if it’s going to collapse.
Several light bulbs needed to be replaced and they didn’t do it.
The downstairs bed is about a foot away from the wall (there is a small ledge behind it) and there is no headboard so it is very difficult to sit up comfortably in bed.
The ceiling is very low near the loft bathroom and there are two small steps that lead into it, making it almost certain to bang your head. There is some ugly foam tape applied to both sides of the ceiling corner making it obvious that owners have received complaints about this.
The building right next door (only a few feet away) is under construction. Thankfully there was no work being done while we were there but you should ask about it.
* After we checked out of our room and I asked to use the restroom in the office. First I was pretty shocked to see the toilet was in plain sight of anyone who might be in the kitchen and it was only a few feet away. The manager said no one was around so it was okay. Then I wondered about sanitary conditions—is it okay to have a toilet in the kitchen, especially when you are not allowed to put used toilet paper in the toilet?? Then I saw just how high the wall mounted toilet was. There was no seat, and for someone who is 6 feet tall, I’ve never not been able to touch the floor, until today.
Maybe this was once a luxury property. It is now shabby, poorly supplied and badly run. Stay for the view, or find a better place with one.
