Akti Beach Club Hotel

Stayed: 10 nights in a shared pool suite; group of 9 across 4 rooms (June 2025) Positives: * Beautiful island — Kos is absolutely stunning, and the hotel’s location makes exploring the island easy. * The all‑inclusive package includes a good drink selection. * The hotel offers convenient transport options to explore around the island. Negatives: Stale breakfast and lunch menus — identical buffet offerings every day with very little variety. Even by all-inclusive standards, it was much worse here. *Insufficient restaurant space— the dining room is tiny; getting tables for even one family was hard, let alone a group of nine. *Cleanliness issues — rooms were lightly cleaned at best. We found hair under beds and an ant infestation in the bathroom on check‑in. * Inconsistent room size and amenities — despite paying the same rate, some rooms were noticeably larger. All rooms lacked drawer storage—just wardrobes and bedside tables—so we lived out of suitcases. * Worn condition of rooms — bathrooms had rust and peeling paint, and general disrepair was evident. * Odor in the lobby and throughout the grounds. * General maintenance neglected — broken lights, cracked pool edges, and evidence of wear everywhere. * Poor response to safety hazards — we reported a hornet nest near our shared pool five times. We were left without pool access for three days, and when staff finally showed up, a single non‑Greek/English‑speaking woman arrived with cloth and bug spray—hardly reassuring. Overall Impression: This hotel is advertised as a 5‑star resort (you pay the 5‑star tourism tax, after all), but its condition, service, and amenities are much closer to a 3‑star property—even when compared to others on Greek islands we’ve stayed at. Unfortunately, despite the beauty of Kos and some conveniences, the experience fell short on multiple fronts. **Would I return?** No this hotel has soured the wonderful island of Kos for us.
