This is a notification to all parents considering booking this hotel: Unfortunately, this hotel is NOT KIDS FRIENDLY, despite their claims. We arrived here three hours ago, and our children have already been reprimanded by four different staff members.

I can still understand the first instance, as our kids were a bit noisy and running in an empty restaurant. However, the second instance was from the animation staff, who made an announcement over the speaker asking our kids to be quiet (there are five children with 3 adults, mind you). Then, we were asked to keep quiet again at the empty reception.

We have been on multiple holidays together, but this is the one I am now dreading. We hope to change our situation soon. This hotel is more suited for adults, not families. It feels like false advertising, and I wish we had known this before booking. We work hard to take our kids on holiday, only to be told they must walk on eggshells.

I am genuinely disappointed just a few hours into our stay. What a shame!

We have been coming here for 27 years, this time with three generations for 1-3 weeks. The value for money is unbeatable.
The rooms are perfectly fine and clean, with a wonderful view.
There is a lovely atmosphere (and lounge music) by the pool.
The beach is indeed natural (as described in the brochure) with many stones/rocks. In October, there were free sunbeds everywhere.
The dinner buffet is similar daily but always includes a varied and very tasty starter and a "show cooking" main course.
Unfortunately, some guests do not dress appropriately and need to be reminded by the staff, e.g., wearing swimsuits to lunch or wet beachwear to the lobby bar.
The restaurant staff and housekeeping are very friendly.
The animation team is dedicated but seems to be in a routine (at least at the end of the season).
The owner family, Lagas, has been a very warm and attentive host since 1992 and handed over to the younger generation a few years back.
The tiny village of Kardamena is a 20-minutes walk away, alternatively by bus (2 EUR) or Mercedes taxi (8 EUR).
The KGS airport is a 10-minutes drive away, costing €20-35.

Lovely hotel. Rooms nice and clean although could do with modernising. Found beds very hard. Food and service lovely. Staff friendly. Nice pool area. Close to beach. Although have to pay for sunbeds. 4euros each. Hotel is on a mountain so very steep. You do have a mini bus to take u too and from rooms. But can be a wait for this. Is a bit of distance walk. From shops and restaurants/bars etc. But taxi and bus service available. Overall nice hotel and would return

Staff always very polite and courteous, the restaurant is very good, we were worried about the food but they list what is in every dish so you know what you are eating before you choose. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. We had a low room, but they run a free taxi service to take you up the very steep hill to support rooms which would have amazing views. Taxi to kardamaina town is 8euros which is a lot but about the same as UK these days. You can walk it if you are good with walking, it's a nice walk along the coast if you are that way inclined. There is a basic shop although bottled water at hotel so is 3 times the price from town. So it's worth buying water there if you get a taxi.

2 adults and 1 11 year old, stayed 5 days on 15th August.
All the bad reviews about service, food and cleanliness really made me concerned before we arrived. But, if you're reading them and have similar feelings, do NOT fret.

Everything we experienced was great. The service was excellent from the first welcome to the final goodbye. The waiters were all chatty and friendly in the restaurant, pool bar and bar, and the lady greeting us for dinner to seat us, was so happy and cheery.

Breakfast and Dinner were well run, food was incredible and such a varied selection of starters, mains and dessert. From greek salad, roast chicken and profiteroles to salmon pasta, lamb kleftiko and apple pie, every mouthful was delicious. You do have to pay for any and all drinks at dinner but it's €4 for a large 2l bottle of water and €9.50 for a small bottle of local wine. Breakfast has juice included

Pool bar evening entertainment was basic but fun, we had a selection of bingo, karaoke, quiz night and The Drifters performance all starting at 2130. Cocktails are €9.50 and a bottle of cider is €4.50.

Sunbeds were always available by the pool at no charge, but sunbeds at the private hotel beach are charged at €4 per person per day. Take beach towels with you.

We were lucky to be in a room starting with 3, so we're only a short walk to the facilities, we did walk up to the sunset view twice and it was steep and took a good 10 minutes. But, there is a bus running from outside reception to any room 24 hours a day.

The room itself was roomy and clean. Our view only looked over the tennis court but we spent more time out and about than in the pool. The Aircon was SO cold and refreshing and worked exactly how it should. They refreshed our towels and shower gels every day.

Location is ok if you like a walk, 20 mins one way and you're at Kardamena marina, 25 mins the other way and you're at the waterpark. There's a well stocked minimart on the complex which meant we didn't need to go out to the shops as expected, and there's a really lovely jewellery store with the most adorable a

nd helpful man. He knocked off €20 from a vase and necklace without asking and was so accommodating

We've had a wonderful stay at Lagas Aegean Village and would recommend it to all our family and friends

**Disappointing Experience at Aegean Village**

I recently stayed at Aegean Village in Kos, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. To begin with, the room was outdated and not well-maintained. The furniture was worn, and there was a musty smell that lingered throughout our stay. The air conditioning barely worked, making the room uncomfortably warm, especially at night.

The food at the hotel was another major disappointment. The buffet options were repetitive, with the same dishes served almost every day. Many of the hot dishes were lukewarm at best, and the quality of the ingredients seemed subpar. We ended up dining out more often than we had planned because the food was so uninspiring.

The staff, while polite, didn’t seem very engaged or helpful. You have to pay for everything. However, the worst part of our stay was the encounter with the manager. Not only was he unhelpful, but he was also downright rude and insulting when we brought up our concerns. His attitude made us feel completely unwelcome and added unnecessary stress to our vacation.

Finally, the location, while scenic, was quite isolated. The hotel is far from Kos town, making it difficult to explore the area without a car. The shuttle service was unreliable, often running late or not at all, which was frustrating.

Overall, I would not recommend Aegean Village. There are better options on the island that offer more comfort, better service, and a more enjoyable experience. I was really looking forward to my stay here, but it ended up being a disappointment.

Completely nightmare! Totally awful experience like never in my life! We've stayed there 7 nights and we only eaten there 3 of the days after I got food poisoning from uncooked food. Food was basic and the same everyday single day, not choice at all and on top uncooked meat and eggs!!!! The manager was extremely rude, aggressive, adversarial and yelling miserable man. Pool bar was very expensive as well for a espresso you pay 3.70€ and bottle of water is 3€. Dress code was required for man's but women can wear short leggings!? Nobody inform us that man should wear trousers in 34° in 3 star dated hotel. The stuff is rude and speaks in Albanian languages barerly understand English. If you don't order some drinks for dinner and dont pay cash they don't serve you next day and are so rude shouting at guests that tables are not ready or not for 2 people. Traumatic experience! The beach is dirty a d with stones no sand. You need to pay extra for that as well.
The only good thing was the view from the room!

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Pity only for the too superficial cleanliness and the unfriendly reception. For the rest of the staff really nice and helpful!
Tip: make all the information in the hotel regarding services clearer and put a few more street signs so that you can easily find what you are looking for.

This is a weak weak hotel.. if you notice nobody even bothers to even reply on the comments being made in here. The management is like from 1990's.. The receptionists were nice in my opinion and the animators were also quite friendly.

The main issue is about the waiters and the guys in charge of the restaurant. Some of the waiters act like they own the place and if you for example don't drink anything during the dinner some of those legacy employees can get really rude and even say things in Greek hoping you don't understand it. This is next level stuff really.. I was this close to confront one of these guys.

You are at all times during dinner asked how many people you are and directed to a table without consent, I am on vacation and just wanna sit wherever I want!

Everything is done in designated times, ex; during the evening the coffee machine is closed in the pool bar and you are motivated to drink alcohol ext.. I am not feeling sorry that I chose this place to stay, but likely never visit again.

This is also not a really welcoming hotel for kids, I get the impression that if they could dare they would make this an adult only hotel but simply the money they leave on the table saying no to families is too much to bare.

The best Greek hotel I have ever stayed at. One of the best things is the free 24hr minibus service to take you to and from your rooms. The drivers do a great job and are always happy to help. Staff friendly and helpfu. The food is amazingly fresh and tasty. The rooms are spotlessly clean. I was a bit put out at first about the men having to wear long trousers at dinner, but after experiencing the quality of the dining experience, I didn't mind. Will definitely be going again....
