Victoria Hotel in Nafplio

We arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon to check in and unload our luggage, having already paid for our stay in advance. We parked our car in front of the hotel briefly to take out our suitcase and our dog’s crate. A man who claimed to be the receptionist came out and told us that parking there would result in an immediate fine from the police.

When we explained that we were checking in and just unloading, he informed us—rather abruptly—that dogs were strictly not allowed due to allergies. Even though we told him we were staying at the hotel, he didn’t let us inside—not even into the reception—and instead sent us away from the front door in 45-degree heat.

He assured us we would receive a full refund, advised us to cancel via Booking.com, and said he himself had three dogs but had been told by the hotel manager that no exceptions were possible. It felt like a fake, rehearsed excuse just to get rid of us.

Of course, no refund was ever issued.

When we called on Sunday, we were again told they would process the refund “immediately,” but nothing happened. While we understand that not accepting dogs might be a hotel policy, misleading us by promising a refund and then disappearing was unacceptable.

Because of this, we had to book another hotel at the very last minute at more than three times the price. Had they simply told the truth from the beginning, we could have arranged a pet hotel or a dog sitter in Nafplio for just €30 a night.

We still don’t know what the real story is, but we absolutely do *not* recommend this place

Don't stay here!! There were bed bugs in almost every room on an entire floor and the staff was rude when confronted with it.

DO NOT STAY. I have never stayed in a worse hotel before. The bathroom door did not close and the walls were made of semi-opaque glass. There was an unpleasant smell and the beds were terribly uncomfortable.

A 2 star hotel in every respect. Broken toilet, broken switches. Very basic furnishings and a horrible breakfast. Plus the staff, who looked unkempt - especially during breakfast service. The room was reasonably clean, the beds not bad.

Why don't you give me just one night on Saturday? and we who work on Friday and can only have one night, by force because you have nothing to do on your Friday at your minimum, you leave out your customer who has supported you and stayed already twice to you and have we brought people? (and of course also the last ones), I was expecting a different treatment. and especially for the end of October. and only for this reason delete. Well, let's talk about those, and you can say yours and everything is fine. keep the customers of the two nights +. but you just lost a stable one. I'm not sorry that I won't stay there again, an opportunity to meet other owners, luckily you are too many in the great city of Nafplion. I'm thinking of you, although you certainly don't need it from what it seems.
