Reviews
The food, according to our taste, was very good. For a restaurant of this level, the staff had clearly put in a lot of effort. There were themed dinner nights, such as Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisine – everything was very tasty and freshly prepared.
The service is good, and the waiters are polite, especially those who speak English.
The food is really good, but if you're used to Michelin-starred restaurants, don’t expect miracles.
There is also an evening entertainment program with an animator, including mini disco for kids, bingo nights, and other events. During the day, there are activities such as aqua gym sessions in the pool, which add a fun and lively touch to the experience.
The beach is nice – shallow with clean water. The sandy area is a bit narrow, but there’s plenty of space in the water for everyone. It’s a 5-minute walk down the stairs, or you can take a slightly longer path through the forest, which takes about 10 minutes.
There are beach bars where you can use sunbeds and umbrellas for free if you order drinks or food.
Psakoudia is a charming little village – generally quiet, with a small center with restaurants offering delicious and affordable meals. At the end of the village, there’s a large two-story supermarket with groceries and household goods.
It might feel a bit boring for teenagers and young people, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Despite the many families with small children, it’s still calm and relaxing.
I stayed at this hotel recently and was very disappointed with the overall experience. The service was terrible -- the staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, and often rude. I had to wait far too long to check in, and when I asked for assistance, I was either ignored or spoken to in an unfriendly manner. The front desk was disorganized, and it felt like the staff had no interest in the guests' comfort.
The hotel restaurant was also a huge letdown. It only has a capacity of about 40 people, which means long waits during peak times. Even worse, the food was bland and lacked flavor. I expected much more in terms of both variety and quality.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and definitely will not be returning.

The hotel, the rooms, the service and the staff are amazing. Breakfast and dinner are great with various options for everyone.
Definitely recommend
Hotel area is quite pretty with separated little houses.
But the reason for my low score is staff and service, which is the way below the standard.
When it was exactly 11am, one of the staff members entered my room asking why i was still there, in the most rude manner possible! However all my luggage was packed and i was ready to go.
I was quite surprised when later i saw my neighbour, sunbathing at around 11:45am at his balcony. Obviously nobody treated him like that.
Critically low level of customer service and common sense how to talk and treat guests!
Another thing to mention: I had a half-board option, where I had to pay extra for all the drinks ordered.
Whilst having my glass of wine, I couldn’t enjoy this as waitress couldn’t leave my table until I sign the receipt ( which has to be signed only at the end of my meal, obviously)
Avoid this hotel, there are plenty of other much nicer places where to stay!
P.S. Beach on my pictures is 2h drive from that hotel, it is not the local one
We all go on holiday to relax, eat good food and enjoy quality time.
The biggest let down at this hotel is the food.
Canteen food is the only way to describe it. Same things served over and over again.
Lots of guests we spoke to all said the same thing. The photos say it all.
Fortunately we hired a car so we were able to drive to various places and enjoy traditional Greek food.
I have been in hospitality for years and have never experienced such unfriendly staff. There were 3 staff in the whole 7 days that were friendly.
The bedrooms are clean but basic,a sheet and cotton throw are left folded on your bed daily.
No kettle for tea or coffee in room.
Smell from bathroom drains is horrendous and lingers in the bedroom.
Certainly not what the website portrays 😔
A few pointers for the hotel are as follows
⚪️ A wrist band system for all people staying here. We have a lot of people using the premium pool that hadn’t paid for it resulting in the lifeguard having to spend time evicting people to the standard pool.
⚪️ meal times can be very busy and people stand staring at others near the tables which is quite rude. So a ticket system where people wait in the bar until their number is called would be better.
The food was bland, salty and overall identical throughout our 7 days there. We have had fish for only 2 dinners and it was borderline disgusting.
The rooms are okay-ish, but sound proof is bad, especially if you are next to the kids playground.
The beds are with bad mattresses that are already uncomfortable.
It's just no longer worth it with the new prices.
Also it's inconveniently far away from the beach. You have lots of steps or a very muddy street to go to the beach.
The kids playground has very few toys and are usually for small kids.
The kids animation is absolutely the same thing each evening, blasting the same 5 songs very loud and doing the same thing - dancing. One night of scavenge hunt for 5 minutes and that was it.
And the kids animation is only for 30 minutes an evening, nothing else.
Though the beach is great! The water is clean, there's always a place to sit, the shire goes deep slowly so it's very child friendly.
It's not as expensive a village as chalkidiki usually is. It's good. If the hotel was kept in good condition with better prices, like it was 2023 - it would've been amazing!
The food at Philoxenia was another highlight. The variety and quality were impressive, with plenty of delicious options to choose from at every meal. Whether you’re a fan of local cuisine or prefer international dishes, there’s something for everyone.
The hotel’s location is ideal, nestled close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. It’s the perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the sea and nature at the same time. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to the beach made it easy for us to relax and unwind.
Philoxenia Hotel truly offers everything you need for a perfect holiday—great food, comfortable accommodations, and a stunning location. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back!
