Reviews
We all go on holiday to relax, eat good food and enjoy quality time.
The biggest let down at this hotel is the food.
Canteen food is the only way to describe it. Same things served over and over again.
Lots of guests we spoke to all said the same thing. The photos say it all.
Fortunately we hired a car so we were able to drive to various places and enjoy traditional Greek food.
I have been in hospitality for years and have never experienced such unfriendly staff. There were 3 staff in the whole 7 days that were friendly.
The bedrooms are clean but basic,a sheet and cotton throw are left folded on your bed daily.
No kettle for tea or coffee in room.
Smell from bathroom drains is horrendous and lingers in the bedroom.
Certainly not what the website portrays 😔
A few pointers for the hotel are as follows
⚪️ A wrist band system for all people staying here. We have a lot of people using the premium pool that hadn’t paid for it resulting in the lifeguard having to spend time evicting people to the standard pool.
⚪️ meal times can be very busy and people stand staring at others near the tables which is quite rude. So a ticket system where people wait in the bar until their number is called would be better.
The food was bland, salty and overall identical throughout our 7 days there. We have had fish for only 2 dinners and it was borderline disgusting.
The rooms are okay-ish, but sound proof is bad, especially if you are next to the kids playground.
The beds are with bad mattresses that are already uncomfortable.
It's just no longer worth it with the new prices.
Also it's inconveniently far away from the beach. You have lots of steps or a very muddy street to go to the beach.
The kids playground has very few toys and are usually for small kids.
The kids animation is absolutely the same thing each evening, blasting the same 5 songs very loud and doing the same thing - dancing. One night of scavenge hunt for 5 minutes and that was it.
And the kids animation is only for 30 minutes an evening, nothing else.
Though the beach is great! The water is clean, there's always a place to sit, the shire goes deep slowly so it's very child friendly.
It's not as expensive a village as chalkidiki usually is. It's good. If the hotel was kept in good condition with better prices, like it was 2023 - it would've been amazing!
The food at Philoxenia was another highlight. The variety and quality were impressive, with plenty of delicious options to choose from at every meal. Whether you’re a fan of local cuisine or prefer international dishes, there’s something for everyone.
The hotel’s location is ideal, nestled close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. It’s the perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the sea and nature at the same time. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to the beach made it easy for us to relax and unwind.
Philoxenia Hotel truly offers everything you need for a perfect holiday—great food, comfortable accommodations, and a stunning location. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back!
The hotel is located in a garden, which stretches through the entire hotel complex. The rooms are really modern, clean and cleaned regurarly. Initially, even though we paid for a garden view, we received a room that overlooked the main road, which is really loud and the sound is disturbing. However, this issue was quickly resolved thanks to the accommodating and considerate receptionist who helped us change the room. The other room we got was perfect. The food is delicious - plenty of courses to choose from, salad bar, sweets bar, various kinds of fruits... Everyone can choose and the food varies everyday. The all inclusive drinks are also great and there are lots to choose from. The beach near the hotel is sandy, not overly crowded and the sea was ( in June) very warm, calm and clear.
The aspect I would like to highlight the most is the stuff. We even got to meet the hotel owner and the manager. Everyone is really considerate, warm-hearted and welcoming. When you smile, they smile back, ask about your day and care about how you feel. Special shout-out to the staff at the restaurant - if I were to name all of them, it would take a long time. They are busy bees, moving all the time, but still manage to radiate a happy mood. Many thanks to them for making the atmosphere of our vacation so pleasant.
Saying hi to the Czech stuff ! :-)
Rooms are small, bathrooms tiny and soundproof is really bad. You could hear noise from a busy road throughout whole night.
Pool is small - and even though hotel has 2 pools, we could use only 1. Food is average or below average - breakfast the same every day, salami served really bad. Dinner was similar every day with maybe one meal that is ok.
You need to pay 1eur per day to have wifi in room. Wifi in public areas (pool and restaurant) was not good.
Located 5 min walk from the beach.
Rooms are clean - however, they were not cleaned every day.
In our case definitely overpriced.
