Description

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the center of Rethymno town, where many shops, bars, restaurants and Nightclubs. Location: on the Northern coast of the island, 79 km from Heraklion airport, 700 m from the town of Rethymno.

The hotel has 200 rooms.

For guests with disabilities there are ramps and a lift. No specially equipped rooms.

The rooms were great! They are modern and kept clean. The service of the staff was very good. And the location was pretty good, its only a 10 minute walk to old town were all the little shops are located. The Piazza Di Porto restaurant was very good and I do recommend trying that place.

I do not recommend eating at the dinner buffet. We did not have a good experience with it. I had some rice that was not cooked and was hard, my wife tried their fried sardines but those still had bones in them. The buffet was the worse and most expensive meal we had for our entire trip.

Also, as a heads up, they have an all-inclusive package but you need to read carefully because not everything is included in that package.

This hotel was nice. The rooms were clean, the service was excellent, the breakfast was good, and it had plenty of things to do.

One drawback, however, was that the pools close at 6pm…which is really early if you are out and about throughout the day and want to enjoy a nice dip in the pool to relax afterwards. The hotel also had some hidden fees. Laundry is insanely expensive and the hotel website made it seem like this was included. Also, it was really loud at night one night but I’m unsure if that’s due to the hotel or a local concert.

Just got home after our second visit to this hotel. I fully recommend it. Great location, across the main road from their private beach area and an easy short walk along the promenade into Rethymno. All of the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The food, breakfast and evening meals which we had on our halfboard stay, was lovely with plenty of choice. Our room was very clean and spacious with a sea view. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable. Mike and Kath (605)

Great hotel in a perfect location! The gorgeous beach is just out front, and the historic Old Town is only about 10-15mins walk away.

There are loads of bars & restaurants in the area and it's all really accessible. The staff at the hotel helped us book a local excursion which was really helpful.

There are 3 swimming pools at the hotel, including one indoors.

The room we stayed in was a good size, and it was worth paying a bit extra for a balcony & sea view.

The beds are comfortable but there don't appear to be any double beds, only singles pushed together.

The (half-board) food is nice, but pretty standard buffet style stuff. It was all labelled but it wasn't always clear what was vegetarian/vegan and what had meat in it. However it was all pretty tasty. We did prefer to eat out in the evenings though as there are so many good restaurants in the area.

There is also a Bistro cafe and an A La Carte restaurant on site, both facing the beach, and at the right time you can catch a lovely sunset too. We had nice drinks at the cafe a few times, and ate at the restaurant twice and enjoyed the food there.

The staff were mostly all really helpful & friendly. We only had a disappointing interaction once. The reception staff could speak an impressive array of different languages which would be super helpful!

The hotel is very clean and tidy, and there are quite a few spaces where you can just sit and pass the time if you wish.

We had a brilliant time at the Aquila Porto, and I would definitely recommend it, even just for the location alone!

For a Hotel that claims to be 5 star, the rooms are simply not good enough. The inside of the hotel, especially rooms could use some work. In addition it was zero sound isolation both from the hallway and street so I cannot recommend this really. Service, breakfast and pool area was decent.

We are just back from the Aquila Porto. I cannot find any fault with this hotel . The rooms were clean & toilets spotless. We have been coming to this hotel for the last 11 to 12 years The staff are excellent with my partner Janette who is deaf they all took there time to talk to her & that made her comfortable. Not taking anything away from the staff at the reception or working in the bar or restaurant they all went about there jobs in a provisional manner. But there is young one lady I will take my hat of to her her name is Maria she works in guest relations. Always had time to come over & talk to us especially to Janette. We know your just starting off in your career Marie we wish you luck in the future. She is only 20. 21 soon. She was telling us. We stayed half-board the breakfast & dinner was excellent highly recommend. Just a great location to walk up to the old town around the marina take photos at sunset & have a beer at a bar & people watch & watch the world go bye.We will be back next year. Lovely hotel.

An excellent hotel! Everything works well, including WiFi. General areas, restaurants, pool areas and the rooms are clean and feel quite modern. Service is very friendly but sometimes you have to wait a bit to get service at the hotel's cafe/bar (we had all inclusive). Rooms were nice and the A/C works well with user controls for temperature and speed.
Food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent! The desserts are incredible. Drinks and snacks at the bar are included in all inclusive. The drinks are quite strong and not watered down like you might get at other hotels with all inclusive.
The hotel has its own section of beach with a lot of lounge chairs for sunbathing. Refreshments can be ordered to the beach lounge chairs, too.

The hotel is nice. The staff is very welcoming. Some rooms are a little outdated as well as the elevator. But I am sure they work on that. If there is something you want or need, they are doing everything to accommodate you. We had a very pleasant stay thanks to the Hotel staff. Location is beautiful.

A lovely hotel just off the beach. Great staff who are all very cheerful and helpful. The food is good with plenty of variety. 2 pools and also a health spa with gym and additional indoor pool. Plenty of shops and restaurants just outside on the promenade. The hotel has its own sunbeds on the beach which are mostly free. There is beach service for drinks and food around both pools and on the beach. All in all a great place to spend a week away.

My husband and I had a week at this hotel for our Golden Wedding. The hotel is really really good. It is very clean, the food is excellent and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The location is perfect right on the front. We can't thank the housekeeping staff enough, they decorated our bed, there where red roses, an anniversary cake and a bottle of wine all to celebrate our Golden Wedding. It is things like that you never forget. It really made our time at the hotel special. We can't thank them enough. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was perfect for us. We will definitely look forward to returning back again.
