Where to stay in Rethymno

We sadly have missed reviews on this hotel. Positives are nice, clean hotel with great staff and food. Negatives are extremely confusing on the 'Comfort' package. This was sold to us as an all inclusive, however there was lots of restrictions i.e. no food around the pool was ever part of the package. Such a lovely spot! The space itself is gorgeous and very clean. I felt completely pampered. Anna was incredibly skilled and friendly — my hair turned out fantastic. They only use top-quality haircare products too. I’ll be back for sure next time I’m here!

We just had a wonderful last minute stay here as a family.The hotel and our maisonette was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was delicious! Rivalled Gleneagles. Second time staying here, lovely helpful staff. Plenty to choose form at breakfast. We didn't have evening meal as ate out. Although couple of negatives was slow in setting up tables, and closing the pool early. Beach 5 mins walk, lots of surrounding bars on sea front, Walk or take a bus outside hotel to Old Town.

Easygoing hotel, with good access to amenities locally, short distance to beach, restaurants, good access for taxis and pickup locations for excursions. Room was clean, large and air conditioned. Standard buffet fare, with lots of different options for breakfast and dinner. Opportunities to practice Greek but for when that runs out the majority of staff are fluent English speakers.

Not quite a full 5 stars but worth a shout. The entire staff of this hotel needs to be commended. Friendly, helpful, courteous and most of all went out of their way to assure we had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Was here 3 years ago and it was amazing unfortunately on return this year we have found the evening meal to have gone down hill rapidly , not much choice , doesn't taste of much. Excellent trip! We were 7 days in paradise! The SPA was unbelievable, with Evdokia- the friendly , beautiful face at the reception, Dina and Constantinos at the massages...We had very clean and tidy rooms, the mediterranean views are from another world and all the personnell was exceptionaly profesional and friendly! Thank you Axos team! We had a fantastic 5 days right at the start of the summer season. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. Whilst it’s definitely the people who make the place so fantastic, the rooms were bright and clean with everything you could want for a self-catered holiday. Breakfast included was also a very welcome addition!

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. The pool area was awesome. The location was near to the beach and there were plenty of shops and eating places nearby. After checkout I was able to use the pool area and there was a complimentary change area to use before we went to the airport.

This place is perfect in many ways. Voula is a very nice host and makes you feel at home. The rooms are very complete and have comfortabel beds. Very good breakfast! Sea front suite in Rethymno I booked a Jr. suite and it is very nicely appointed. The air conditioning works perfectly. The room is maintained nicely and I had a loft bedroom facing the sea with a small balcony overlooking the sea. The decor was very nice with a living area with sofa, cocktail table. Fab location, the hotel is well managed by the lovely Mr Polyrios and his assistant Vozalia. Its constantly cleaned, towels changed everyday. Location is brill, 5 mins from the seafront. The restaurant food is tasty, the staff, Tako and Shako are stars. Thanks to you both.

Reception staff very helpful. Room immaculate. Cleaning staff came every day with fresh bedding and towels. Balcony to front of hotel. There was only one downside - Many of the guests were all inclusive so the bar did not open until 12 noon. So, as a paying guest, if you wanted to lie by the pool in the morning there was nowhere to get a drink.

This hotel was so cute and amazing to stay at. There is a small staff, but everyone is so friendly. I did not care for the beds as they are really firm. The owner Polyvios was so accommodating and made my stay pleasant and smooth. The food was always hot and fresh. And being steps away from the beach made the almost hour drive from Heraklion airport worth it!

We just stayed there for the last 4 days and it was wonderful. Georgios is a great host and we felt like home at Olympia. The location is perfect, 2 min by feet to the sea and to many nice restaurants. The pool and pool bar are very cozy.
