But anyway - with some creativity one could reschedule and move to the beach area, where sunbeds were available for quite a fair price (Between 5 to 7 Euros per day for two sunbeds and a parasol)

I did not stay at this hotel, just been to their beach and they got the most friendly and serviceminded staff at the beach. If possible, I would give 10 stars for their effort to make every guest feel good at the beach

Everything is dedicated to the guests. We never met such a gently and polite people which are oriented to the guests service. This is place with excellent beach, shop inside the property with a prices as in the city

Special big Thank to Georgios. We were met with a big smile every day, and they helped us with sunbeds, drinks and free water to make sure we did not dehydrate in the sun. I have no problems recommanding this place

We enjoyed Noras daily Yoga sessions so much. She is one of the reasons we return every year

Charming property and one of the best parts is the view which is just spectacular, you can’t get any closer to the sea! The room and breakfast were nice and we had one meal in the restaurant which was lovely and had a great atmosphere

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent, comfy beds, great staff and it's on the sea! The beach nearby is pebbly and it's a 25 minute walk to the old town - not a huge amount to do in the immediate area, but the hotel itself more than makes up for that!

The location is a bit far from Old town Rethymno a 30 minute walk but the local bus, walk or taxi will get you there fast. The upside is you are on the beach and have loungers and a semi private beach at your disposal

This is a little beauty of a hotel. The road outside is a bit of a challenge for pedestrians as it is a major easy west link for Rethymnon but once inside you are in a very nice place

This place was absolutely perfect. Our room had a perfect view, the pool is great, with direct beach access. The water when we were there was warm, and extremely calm at low tide, you can walk out into the sea for ages

It's 5 Euros into town, as this place is on the opposite side of the town from the main "party tourist" sandy beach area, which we prefer

Welcome to ancient Greece, elegant and refined place, ideal for couples. Top service, The waiters do not seem to be there but when you are about to finish the wine in the glass they have already filled it

Villa Ikaros is a wonderful villa to stay in the early season but also in the summer period. The villa has 3 lovely bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, giving you more than enough room for a large family

Room service every 3 days, pool service every 2 -3 days. But it is probably normal in Crete

What a truly wonderful stay we had in Atermono. The staff were so kind and caring, true attention to detail. The room was very comfy, only thing to fault is not enough hanging space for towels in the bathroom

The hotel is well located in front of beach, they have a very big and enjoyable swimming pool with lots of chairs and umbrellas, breakfast is good and have fresh fruits, the restaurant serves delicious Greek food and it's not expensive! They offer some beach chairs and umbrellas for 5 euro for the day

We, 6 german guys all in their late twenties had a pleasant stay at marinos Beach Hotel. The property and all the including facilities are nice and clean. Especially the staff were really diligent and kind

We spent 4 days in this very nice hotel with direct access to the beach. Our 4 year old daughter loved the kids pool and we really enjoyed watching the sunset from the beach every night

Special swimming shoes are necessary for entry, and caution is required. However, many people swim without any problems, so it's not a major issue :) The beach itself is very beautiful with stunning sunsets

If you can, ask for a room which is not situated towards the main street. The traffic is noisy and can be pretty annoying during the night. There is a pool and direct beach access

Amazing hotel. The management is always at your disposal and ready to assist. The housekeeping is doing a great job since the rooms are clean. Food always fresh and tasty. I will definitely come back next year.

Since the hotel is so close to the main road there is no peace at all since the rooms di not provide any soundproofing and during the night when cars and bikes are zooming around you can hear them the same as outside so sleeping is quite hard

The beach is excellent with included sunbeds, which are all new and very comfortable, adding to the aesthetic appeal. The food also deserves praise – there is something for everyone, and everything is fresh and delicious

The facilities are very good and whether by one of the pools or on the beach front all your needs are catered for. The entertainment is varied, and there are always a couple of choices to choose from

ARB is a great family beach featuring a lot of great amenities. It has a sweet children’s club. From 1-3 there is a small daily fee, then from 4 and up, it is free

But on the other had, the pools were really great and so was the new water park. The toilets were too few and a bit far from the beach. There's a small shop inside with essentials and reasonably priced

As an advice- coffee at breakfast could be improved (in some areas coffee was ok and in some areas absolutely not). In general we are very satisfied and grateful! Thank you, Aquila Rethymna Beach😊!

There was a good selection of food and everything tasted great. Dining experience was top notch. The beach is a combo of sand and pebbles. Unfortunately there are also bigger rocks

The only thing I would slightly improve is the hair dryer in the bathroom – it heats up quickly and doesn’t work that well, but it’s just a small detail compared to how great everything else was

The food was delicious, with lots of variety and rich local flavors – special greetings to Chef Fotis for the incredible meals. Everyone working here makes the experience even more enjoyable

Evening meal time there seems to be cats everywhere and for me this a huge No No , not only unhygienic it's not appropiate while people are eating , for me personally being allergic to cats I really don't want to eat here

We are half board and seriously would not do this again as we've found it a waste of money. The place is clean and staff friendly and the facilities are good. But you are better to go bed and breakfast

A special thanks to the wonderful Katerina who serves the drinks and food at the beach again always served with a smile. Two big swimming pools and a kids pool. Lots of sun beds never had trouble finding one

One of the nights we stayed was Chinese which was delicious and the desserts were delicious 😋 too. The beach is literally across the road. Lovely sand but a few stones as you walk in

The sea view rooms provide a picturesque view of the beautiful Cretan sea; however, it’s important to note that these rooms overlook the road separating the hotel from the beach

We stayed at Grecotel Plaza Beach House for my birthday and had a fantastic time

Unfortunately, there are also a few negative points: I'll start with the room we stayed in and the neighboring ones — the sound insulation is very poor; you can't get any rest at night, as it feels like the windows are always open (the rooms face back a road with constant traffic)

Finally, I’d like to mention that the adult pools close at 7:00 PM — exactly when it would be ideal to take a swim and enjoy the moment. This is incomprehensible to me

And one last thing: I didn't understand why there are no mosquito nets on the windows, especially considering the high number of mosquitoes

Then there's the metalic spiral staircase, which feels like you're climbing into an attic — very uncomfortable and undesirable

That being said, it is still a pleasant place, above the average offer in the area

People are usually staying near pool, so almost all sunbeds are taken (and yes, some guests are still having the habit of leaving a towel on a sunbed but showing up 3 hours later)

From the pool area you walk directly onto the beach, which is sandy where you sit but consists of pebbles at the waterline, watershoes are highly recommended here! This is our first time to Greece and Crete, so there is a lot for us to discover

On the bright sight, there is plenty of room on the beach and the view is 10 times better. The sea entry is rocky, so it’s better to have swimming shoes with you

Sometimes we could hear the neighbours do the horizontal tango, but hey, that's what a holiday is for. The all-inclusive buffets vary from day to day and are excellent, except for the wines, die smaken wat wrang

But I strongly suggest booking a room with a pool view, where you can enjoy an evening or two on the balcony. We had different menus every day and the choice was just perfect, not too much and not too little

Just got back from 10 days in the Creta Aquamarine Hotel and feeling completely relaxed after staying in this lovely hotel

So, as a paying guest, if you wanted to lie by the pool in the morning there was nowhere to get a drink

And I did pay towards the stay and hotel fees that was the least they could do. We ended up having to spend way more money than expected at other hotels. We decided to go to Saturnini for three of the nights

Nice hotel close to the beach and has a small pool as well, big apartment style rooms with small kitchens

We had a fantastic stay in this hotel. It was very clean, tidy, well equipped. The staff are lovely and friendly, very helpful too. plenty of towels and very nice touch, slippers

We just stayed there for the last 4 days and it was wonderful. Georgios is a great host and we felt like home at Olympia. The location is perfect, 2 min by feet to the sea and to many nice restaurants

Great hotel. Very clean, elegant, stylish. On a very busy and loud street but with great soundproofing. Also has a nice pool. The reception is very helpful and friendly.

The pool and pool bar are very cozy. The beds were also very comfortable and the A/C is working perfectly, we could sleep very well with 35 degrees outside

It is close enough to Rethymno town, nice walk or short ride in taxi. We will stay again if we get the chance. Our stay was middle of June 2014

AC worked fine and wasn't too loud. Had a good night's sleep all week. Didn't have the strength to stream anything but enough to check and social media and so on. We spent our days at the beach

- Location is everything for this hotel. 0min walk to the Old Town and all that is has to offer. Around 15min walk to the big beach. Around 1h 30min with the transfer bus

With some traffic and a few hotel stops before us (we were number 4 in order) - Decent breakfast. It covers the basics and it's enough. Rush hour is definitely around 9:30 but we always found a free table

Open till 22 The only negative thing was the gentleman on the third floor that repeatedly smoked cigarettes in the fire escape stairs in the mornings. The smell didn't enter our room, but the hallway did

- Rooms are fresh and well cleaned. We got a room on the top floor (3rd) and furthest away in the hallway. And probably the biggest balcony. Ask for room 311, you won't be disappointed

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, the staff at Fortezza made everything perfect for our stay

The hotel also provides free sunbeds on the beach. The room was very nice and tastefully decorated in boho style. Our room was always very clean and there was free water brought to the room every day

We spent our honeymoon at Omiros and were completely satisfied. It's a nice, well laid out Adults Only hotel with around 40 rooms. It's a great place to relax by the pool and it's only a 2 minute walk to the beach

Beach spot was 5minutes away with food and beverage service with complimentary snacks i. Cocktails are reasonably priced

Overall would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing quiet but friendly beach holiday to refresh and unwind

Gorgeous Hotel! So quite and relaxing the staff were great, the room was really big and comfortable, we almost always had the terrace or the pool to ourselves in the afternoons to relax, cocktails great, and the breakfast was super tasty with loads of choices! I wouldn't recommend an evening meal with slow service and only average food (they only have a small kitchen and it's never busy) but other...

The staff and their manager, Mr. The hotel has its own pool with sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a pool bar. The breakfast offers a good selection and the kitchen is trying to fulfill special wishes as well

Our biggest gripe with the whole area (so not a hotel issue which is why we didn't reflect the scoring but just wanted to note it here) is the safety on roads and pavements as most of the walks we did single file due to people riding on bikes, scooters on very narrow pathways

Mr Stelios wife owns the business and she is the Boss we saw her but didn't get to talk to her she was always busy working in her office however Mr Stelios is very much the face of this family run business and a very knowledge and friendly person

This hotel has a quiet vibe so I wouldn't recommend it for big families or anyone who prefers to have some form of entertainment we just wanted to chill so it suited us and the bar shuts at 7pm but that was fine for us as we would be out anyway

The main negatives but not enough to put us off coming again is the 3 elevators to get to room (we are fit and don't mind stairs but if carrying heavy water or wearing heels) , the walk to the town isn't long but pavements are narrow and people are riding at you fast on scooters etc so a bit of a risky walk

There is a large wave breaker wall so you can swim in the shallow part even when the ocean is choppy, we would go early morning and enjoyed meeting a few older Greek locals swimming and we had many a good culture chat with them

Lovely little beach opposite the hotel, used by locals. 15 minute walk to old town for restaurants. Decor a little tired in one of the room but the terrace, the view and the equipment was perfect for us

Breakfast starts a bit late (if you need it early make sure you announce it the day before), but offers a splendid choice of fresh fruits, sausages, toasts, bread, cheese, local delikatessen, everything

Their outdoor pool is big enough, and they have a smaller one next to it as well - ideal for infants/very young kids, the terrace itself offers a few deckchairs, too - enough space for everyone

Had a very pleasant stay with them early in September to sort out some business. We arrived early, and not only were we allowed to check in early, we also got a free upgrade to another suite

The hotel has a very nice and friendly staff and so is the manager, Christine, who is very kind and understanding. We have had a very nice stay so far and everything has been so smooth

The suite hat a living room with open kitchen, and a sleeping room separated from it. Both rooms had access to a quite large terrace with seating and vice of the sea and Fortezza

The maids come twice a day to clean and change towels and bedding. During our stay, my fiance who is pregnant, and I got sick. The staff automatically ran to help us with anything we needed

The infinity pool area is small and for the size of the hotel there are not enough sun beds, if you come down after nine all the beds are occupied. However, the beach is close by and sunbeds and parasols are free

Sophia from reception was so lovely and helpful! The airline lost our luggage on the mainland, and she kindly offered to handle everything for us, calling the airline and organising for our luggage to be flown to us and we had our clothes by that night

We could not say enough good things about the staff here, and are very appreciative and thankful for everything they have done for us. It really shows how Cretan/Greek people are also family oriented individuals who care

The chef specifically made food for my fiance and I, as she was feeling lethargic and could not eat much. The waiters were all super respectful and reassured us if we needed anything to not hesitate to let them know

The hotel staff proved to be exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The rooftop restaurant staff, in particular, were incredibly courteous, and the dining experience was nothing short of fantastic
