It's an average hotel with very friendly staff. The Room's have are average and for some reason they don't give you a shampoo for your shower and the toilets has a weird design that haven't seen in any other hotel. The pool a very nice addition. My boyfriend and I had a really nice stay here during peak season. The pool area was great and the staff were lovely and very helpful. They helped us organise taxis, transport around the island and tours. Only ten minutes walk down the hill into town. Would definitely return and recommend.

A good hotel to sleep and near the city center to visit by foot. We had a relly good matress. Our room had a balcony with Sea View. Maybe the rooms need a fresh-up in renovation, but it's not that bad. The bathroom of our room was really small to keep in mind if you are a big person. After all it was a nice Center of City Zakynthos experience.

We have been going to the Castello for some years and wouldn't go anywhere else in Argassi. The location is excellent and because my husband has walking difficulties they always provide a apartment on the ground floor. The staff are amazing always friendly and nothing you ask is any problem to them. Certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Greek hospitality is almost always great but here they made us more than welcome. Well kept up hotel, the apartments are basic but the balcony with ocean view make up for it all. The hotel is not next to the beach, but this is not an issue! You can have a transfer from there to any place that you want to visit. People who work there are amazing! Service is great! Came to the Varres as at the end of our holiday my wife was admitted to hospital on the day we should have flown home. Moved to Varres Hotel as it is close if not the closest to the hospital. All the staff were brilliant and their shuttle service spot on , can’t fault the hotel or staff, and when we are back in Zakynthos will head for the Varres rather then a beach all inclusive hotel .

Excellent place! If you are in Zante for a quiet and peaceful vacation - Varres is a great place for that. Rooms are cosy, the pool is ultra clean and the staff is just perfect. 30 minutes to the port by foot, or 7-8 mins with a car. Shuttles were available for anywhere on the island. Hotel restaurant is just what you need for a cosy evening - food was great! Can’t wait for the next visit!

A nice hotel. The rooms were neat and well cared for, though the atmosphere felt a bit lacking (with one of the lamps it had a bit of an aquarium vibe, but that was mostly just funny). Hotel/Apartment was fine, minus the fact that the missus woke up after the first night to find bread on her leg... stripped the bed to find 10 or so slices of bread under the sheet. Spent a fabulous week here. The staff are so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely, with two balconies! Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonable. The pool was lovely and just half an hours walk away was a fabulous beach and lots of bars and restaurants. Everyone we met, taxi drivers, bar and restaurant staff etc were really friendly. Can't wait to go back.
