Reviews
What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication about access to the front entrance. After a certain time, the front doors are locked, and no one informed us about this. The reason we chose this hotel was its location, but we ended up locked out. A cleaner saw us exit and later completely ignored us when we tried to re-enter, leaving us to walk around the building while she took a smoke break. We were told this was for ‘security reasons,’ but it makes no sense to force guests to walk through a poorly lit, narrow alley. At the very least, they could offer swipe card access or have staff at the front to assist.
This hotel desperately needs improvements.
This hotel is in the perfect central location, located on one of the main shopping streets.
The hotel itself has air conditioned rooms, super comfortable beds and the usual amenities.
In my experience (and my colleague in another room), the water pressure is quite poor, but otherwise I had no complaints.
Breakfast has an excellent selection, served on floor 2.
The bar serves drinks all day and has a bar menu which is also tasty.
WiFi throughout, albeit quite slow but this is really only a small irritation!
When next in Budapest I will visit again.
Staff at the reception are rude, not smiley and you have the impression you are bothering them.
My room had a bed where they connected 2 single beds to give the illusion of a Queen/King size but the comfort was very low.
Small story: I asked for some fried eggs in the morning breakfast which I got the first day with a lot of negotiation and the second day, I waited 40 min and no eggs coming, asked many times with patience for an update on, and the answer was "2 min please Sir they are coming", I guess the chef was too busy to cook them… I left the restaurant and told the waiter I waited long enought ( ( 40Min!!)called the reception/room service to have them delivered to my room but also complicated, they needed to call the manager to ask how to deal with the request… Just wanna give a sincere feedback about the unpreparedness of some staff and their responses.
There is a standard procedure in the hotel, you get omelette or nothing else if you try to ask for something out of the box it creates stress. The orange juice is not fresh and not tasty, you don't have many fresh fruits. (for me the minimum on a breakfast buffet)
There is some construction going on next to the hotel which also leads to noisy environment. Would definitively not stay there anymore. People in Hungary are so nice but in this hotel the staff does not seem to be happy and you can feel it when you stay there.
The rooms are big, clean, tidy and nicely decorated (thanks Tünde for the everyday cleaning).
The amenities are great and the staff is very helpful (special thanks to Rebeka in the privilege lounge for going the extra mile to take care of my best friend and I)
Overall a delightful experience, I would really recommend this hotel for a stay in Budapest !
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the location cannot be beat - Walking distance to all the wonderful places this city has to offer.
Breakfast was plentiful and staff were friendly and polite. Hotel is right amongst the shops and restaurants.
Would definitely come here again.
