Super little hotel in the centre of Budapest. Clean, modern decor, comfortable beds,
helpful and friendly staff and even a locally brewed IPA on tap at the bar. Perfect for a weekend break in the city, all the main tourist attractions were within easy reach and it was almost on the marathon course too - making it easy for us to cheer on our daughter. A better toaster and some baked beans on the breakfast...
modern hotel not far from the centre, suitable location for those who want to visit the main attractions of Budapest on foot. excellent management of the structure as it is very clean and in the morning you will find a buffet breakfast both savory and sweet. friendly staff.
what can I say?? I recommend the structure whether for a business trip or a pleasure holiday
Not bad at all. Good air conditioning, nice comfortable beds and an excellent location. Staff were mainly friendly and efficient and the hotel felt safe. The water pressure even on a high floor was very good.
We liked the environmentally friendly door keys.
There were some issues, there is not much storage space in the rooms as they are small, but then this is a very reasonably priced hotel.

Superb hotel and superb location and great customer front check-in service. Good value for the money. Breakfast was good, but a little bit more would be great. Weak coffee, diluted juices and a bit more variety of hot and cold dishes. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.
Fantastic location, very central and within walking distance of so many sights and museums. It's a two minute walk from the stunning chain bridge!
The hotel lobby is very welcoming with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable, quiet enough for such a central location. Bathrooms are also clean and water pressure in the shower was great.
Breakfast buffet was extensive with...
Centrally located, many things can be easily reached on foot. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is small but clean. Breakfast was good.
When we stayed at this hotel the building near was on construction and for 2 days we heard a lot of noise in the morning (but this isn't hotel fault)

A cozy hotel in a lively area, next to the Jewish quarter, lots of cafes, exchange offices and shops, the center is quickly reached by metro
You won't have any problems staying here.
It's spacious enough for one person.
There is a hairdryer and the shower is fine.
No toothbrush provided.
Luggage storage available.
There is a currency exchange nearby.
Near the tram station.
There is no kettle in the room, but there is a microwave and kettle in the dining room on the 1st floor that you can use.
I'd like to stay again if the price is right
Hotel is set back from the main road, so quite quiet. Plenty of English spoken by reception staff.
The room is very nice and antique. Very comfortable. It is worth recommending. The transportation in Hungary is very convenient. There are trams No. 4 and No. 6 nearby within a few minutes, which can reach most places in the city. A place worth recommending
We stayed on the top floor. Maybe because we checked in late, we were assigned a loft room. However, the area was good. There were two skylights in the room, which could not be opened or closed. The blinds could be adjusted, but we woke up at dawn.
The bed was generally OK. The single bed was average, and the double bed was very comfortable.
There was a bathtub in the bathroom, where you could take...
We stayed for two nights at Unio. The hotel had a old-fashioned style. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable, even if not luxurious

Stay here frequently when in Budapest. The rooms are ok, very clean and to the garden side quiet. The reception is very friendly and helpful - especially the night shift, Zeno. Always a friendly word. Free parking in front is a big plus in Budapest. Also good access to the airport and a subway right outside the door to go to the city center in about 15-20 min. At night a regular direct Night bus as...
Came with a tour group, sharing with one other traveller, room + balcony allow for plenty of space.
The renovated rooms have ultra modern bathrooms.
The bar out back was the perfect way to end the trip.
Super close to public transport, which attracts a sketch crowd at night however no issues as they have an overnight security guard
Stayed only one night for a family meeting. On check in was offered to get breakfast on discounted rate. Found a parking in front of hotel, but in case it's busy (opened public area) offered price for hotel parking is high. Bar and reception staff very friendly and helpful. Location close to public transport and convenient to transit the city, avoid traffic
The location was perfect for us as we used only public transports to and from the airport, the city center and the Ferencvaros training center where we played in a tournament.
The rooms were nice and the beds extremely comfortable.
Breakfast was nice, the hot options slightly basic with just scrambled eggs, baked beans, bacon, and sausages.
Overall an excellent experience and the staff were superb
Was here on a group travel program. While the rooms were nice, this hotel was incredibly understaffed. My friend waited 25 minutes on a Saturday night to pay for a bottle of water at the front desk. The next morning, I tried to fill up my water bottle before a long journey at the machine in the breakfast room and was chastised by a waiter, which left a sour taste in my mouth at the end of my stay....
Good hotel for business stay. Convenient location and reasonable price. Mini laundry available. Breakfast is eatable considering western standards.

Great stay, room was comfortable and the staff were super helpful and friendly.
Hotel is located close to trams and close to the Danube so it was easy to walk to sights and restaurants too.
While the location was a bit off the main tourist areas, it was very convenient to the trams and buses that were all around the hotel. As a walk, it was about 15-20mins to the main part of the city. The bed was firm but managed to find another pillow and slept well in my time there. The breakfast was good. although having a good black tea (no other flavours) would have been better- I bought my own...
This cheap hotel for this quality. In the center of Budapest. It's hard to find something like this. The breakfast had a very big variety of quality foods. The rooms were clean and cleaned every day. There were many outlets which is an important thing to me. The only problem with the room was noisy. But if someone is a good sleeper than it's not that bad. The lobby is great. You can do whatever you...
We had a very nice stay in this hotel. They let us choose between the front and back side. We choose the back because it is quiet. The room was ready and smelled good on arrival. The room had a very comfortable bed. Free coffee or tea at the lobby any time we want. The breakfast buffet had a lot of stuff to eat, and it was fresh. Overlay, we had a very nice stay here, and if a chance occurs, we might...
Five stars for this hotel as my room was clean and cozy, and the hotel has a nice location by River Danube.
The staff are the true gems in this hotel! Everyone at Reception went above and beyond their duties when I was in need for some ice to calm my knee pain. They were friendly, welcoming and resourceful at all times from check-in to check-out.
Thank you again!
The room ant the bathroom was spotless with the basic amenities you might need. The staff is super helpful; they prepared for us a lunch box as our flight was very early in the morning. The breakfast is excellent with good coffee and wide variety of fresh food/vegetables. The location is very good with direct connection by bus and tram to Vaci utca and other sights of Budapest.

3 star hotel only. Cleaness and modern furniture will be the most concern for guests who are thinking of booking a room here. But the rooms are spacious indeed. It feels like we are living back to the Soviet era with timed old building and crack pattern street in front. And boild eggs with sausages will be your breakfast are main dishes for every morning you wake up and step in to the cafeteria.

Nice Service and convenient location near metro station. Facilities are a bit too old.
Lovely hotel, get location. Close to bus and tram stops and also walking distance from many highlights of Budapest. Would definitely recommend.
Location is very good. Near metro and airport bus 100e bus stop. Walkable to many attractions. The room is cleaned well daily. The aircon is too weak and the pillow is too soft.
I have stayed at this hotel several times before, and is my "go to" hotel in Budapest. On this occasion I was not able to stay at the hotel because of an urgent business issue requiring me to fly to Frankfurt immediately. The staff were excellent in helping me reschedule my pick up for the airport transfer, as well as allowing me access to the room (it was a none refundable booking) several hours...
The room is divided half with a door from other room, this is feels a bit unsafe. There was hair in shower. Dirty sheets. Average breakfast for value. Location is the best thing for this place. Close to public transportation and there are many restaurants and pubs around.
Perfect place to be very good location near everything you need

the staff were extremely accomodating , and helped in every way possible to make our stay memorable.
Not ideal
Size of the room was good but different from photos in website.
Not very clean also very used mattress and pillows.
Very friendly receptionist
The hotel is 500 meters from the bus station. It is an old-fashioned hotel. The shower head is like this. I can't take a shower. I didn't eat breakfast, so I don't know if it's delicious. It's OK in Budapest.
Good
A bit of old but very comfy, easy to get around with Budapest metro and trams.
The hotel was decent and clean, with all the basic amenities well-maintained. The rooms were comfortable. Overall, it's a good option for a simple and hassle-free stay

Centrally located. Perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Rooms are neat and comfortable. But no kettle, no water, no tea/coffee. TV is rubbish - a couple of news channels and the rest is Hungarian. Breakfast is passable. Not much choice. No fresh fruit. Fridge doesn't work.
Nice room, but the lighting is pretty bad. Lightbulbs are small (maximum 10 Lumens) and 2/3 are working.
Rennovations are taking place at the hotel. It's noisy from 8am in the morning up to 6-7pm
Kind and helpful staff, spacious rooms and clean.
There was only one tiny minus - no kettle in the room. That would be great.
Basic accomodation. Some old furniture. Paint on some walls and ceilings was peeling off. Shower cabin had some moldy silicon. Except these facts, the location and the value is good.
The location is great! If you came by car, the parking is at the basement and you will have direct acces with the elevator to reception desk. The rooms are nice, A/C is working all the time (we were in July), the beds are very confortable. They change our sheets every 2 days.
Whatever the price or star grading of a hotel there is no excuse for mould in the shower, a shower head that falls to the ground (had to hold it by hand) and spider webs on upper walls that have not been cleaned for months. Evidence that the one elevator has been out of order for long time. This hampers large tour groups accessing rooms efficiently.
Good breakfast in hotel next door.

Budget hotel, don't expect too much. The hotel is in a quiet alley, and you have to climb a few stairs to get to the room, which is not very convenient. I booked a triple room, which is ok in size. The breakfast is average.
very clean and modern design. great location in the city center.
the staff are very friendly.
the breakfast is amazing and has lots of options.
value for money
This hotel is very clean, modern and the location couldn't be better. All sights are within walking distance and the metro and bus stops too. In the morning a wide range of breakfast. The hotel room itself is very neat and has good air conditioning. All in all I could hardly find any negatives. For the price this is great.
The breakfast is 10,000 times better than the internet-famous restaurant next door. It's one kilometer to the train station and one kilometer to the Freedom Bridge. It's quite convenient.
The hotel is within a 10-minute walk of the synagogue and the ruins cafe, and the area around the hotel is quiet, so it's an affordable place to relax.
The breakfast was substantial.
Very good hotel! Well located, good breakfast, clean and welcoming. Very friendly staff.

Haven't stayed there, just parked next to it
Our room was very clean, decent, and beds where very comfortable. There was warm water and heating in our room. This hotel has good connection to the city center, only 20-30minutes away. On the other hand, breakfast could have been a lot better and WiFi connection could be stronger. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Outstanding experience. Best seafood pasta and tiramisu ever. Good presentation, nice quiet atmosphere, great service.
It is 3 star hotel near highway. I recommend it if you want to watch F1 because it's 15 min away from race track ( Hungaroring) 20 min to city center. City bus stops near hotel and you can go to city center with it. It have swiming pul, restaurant, parking... Room was clean no problem there. It's next to McDonald's and big shopping center.
The basic hotel for basic price, the breakfast was not bad, but not good. I suggest that you prepare yourself for lowest quality for lowest price

They tried to charge me more for City Tax than stated in the booking confirmation, which needs to be paid in the Hotel localy. Other than that the Hotel was ok and what I really like, the little treats such chocolate bars and water for free in the room.
really nice and sweet staff, accidentally injured myself, hotel staff provided first aid kit and helped me find hospitals i could go to at night. when i go back to pick up the luggage after i checked out, the staff remembered my injuries and asked if i was okay. thank you for the staff here who made my trip in budapest better.
breakfast is alright. there’s a fridge in the room too.
close to metro...
The nowadays Hotel Chesscom has come a long way from the previous Hostel/Guesthouse to nowadays offer a highly professional Hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, strong and stable wifi. Excellent breakfast. Across the street from the 200E Bus service to the Airport.
The smell from the canalisation in the bathroom is a little bit unpleasant at times.
Very convenient location for travelers that are headed to the airport. Room was clean and came with thoughtful snacks. Value for money 10/10
25 minutes from the airport by bus
The hotel is a clean hotel and very affordable
Hygiene very neat
very sweet there is always coffee and tea ready
Only downside is that it was very warm in the room I had to turn off the heater and open the window

We had a lovely time the room was big and clean with a third bed for our daughter. Despite negative reviews about sound we had no issues.
1 star for the staff because they were very friendly and helpful.
1 star for the location and good connections.
1 star for cleanliness.
So overall, 3/10.
There's a club downstairs, and it was so loud. Definitely not recommended for a family trip.
Unless you want to stay out late yourself.
I don't think the facilities are that great. Comparing it with the photos, I would have expected better.
Unfortunately...
It was a nice hostel with low price. We have been there for school trip and for 17 years old it was fun because it was like a mini apartment. My room was clean and big
We where on a school trip, at first it was a little bit scary because the whole hostel was open and the design was old fashioned. The building was a little weird too, it was like small group apartments. For our age and trip in general was good. Be careful of the club downstairs, it's loud but ok
It was a wonderful experience to stay here, highly recommended
Hotel very convenient for transport (bus, tram and metro are at most 5 minutes away), but also on foot the parliament can be reached in 10 minutes, not very clean also because of the disco on the ground floor, but equipped with everything, young and helpful guys at the reception, abundant breakfast but of only fair quality. We were on the third floor and the noise from the disco did not arrive. Recommended...

The hotel wasn't that bad, the food however was nothing special and we skipped breakfast almost every morning we stayed there. We were on the last floor and everything was okay there. As you can see the view from up there is really pretty!
Stayed here for one night. For three star hotel, and for the price you pay, this is excellent. Rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms also. Breakfast was OK, not to much to choose from, but tasty. If you are used to five star hotels, this is not your thing, otherwise all recommendations for this hotel. Right in front of the hotel is bus stop, local bus driving straight to town center.
Breakfeast anda meals are awful...
A good hotels and it is an easy resort that we have been in. In Latvia ??. In Latvia ??, we have also loved that country and admired them.

This now the third time returning to this hotel. Hotel is pretty decent , the rooms are tidy but a little bit small. Maybe a little complaint about the room fridge - too small and not enough strong .I guess for the price I can't really complain . We always had a very friendly receptionist which is always a good start.
Very good breakfast, except for the second morning where the coffee machine didn’t work.
Very noisy room towards the street.
Very polite staff.
Very good deal for the cost of the room, clean and efficient lodging. conveniently located and kind staff.

The rooms are not bad for this money. But the house keeping is just a joke. They didn't even make the bed properly. No cleaning at all. And they left only one towel for both of us. Aldi, Lidl, shopping center and gas stations are all very close. However you only have 1 bus line you can take from here and have to change transport at least once. This also means the area is more quiet even though its right by the road. Best bank for buck stay around the area though.

I don’t think there was a better option in terms of price and performance during my stay. Honestly, I was a bit worried after reading some negative reviews, but to my surprise, the experience was much better than expected. The room was generally clean and sufficient. If you’re planning to stay for a couple of nights, you can choose this place with peace of mind.
Cons:
• There was no air conditioning...
It was a day when no hotels in the city. Definetly this hotel is better than the room in dorm (NEVER!!) but 75 euro per night it should be something much much better. I think there was no renovation for last 30+ years. The ventilation in the toilet was Very loud, and it time relays does not turn it off like 30 minutes.
