Excellent location, great staff, okay rooms. Rooms have a washroom. How clean it is depends on the roommates. There rooms have no stool or chairs to sit. If you get a higher level bunk bed, you may have to sit on the floor to remove it wear shoes. I got my room changed to get a ground level bed. Breakfast was okay for the cost of 8.5 Euro. I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel! It was incredibly clean and spacious, which made a huge difference. The shower in the 6-bed dorm was surprisingly great — definitely one of the best I’ve experienced in a hostel. I only stayed for one night, but it was a really positive experience. The location is perfect, with multiple supermarkets nearby and everything easily accessible. Highly recommend

I stayed at three wombats on this trip (Munich and Vienna ) and this one is the best!!! There is air conditioning inside the room!! Can’t complain!!! I visited in summer time and it’s grateful to have A/C. Besides there is a little fan every bed just like in wombat Vienna. The location is a bit hard to find. The hostel is on the first floor of an old building and looks old. I only stayed there for one night and it was okay.

Quite good but it is a bit old and crowded, but very close to the main location

The receptionist's attitude was particularly bad. The beds in the room were very simple. The upper and lower bunks interfered with each other when they moved. I had to make do with it and didn't want to stay any longer! The bathroom is not clean either

The hostel was really nice, I was a bit scared of the shared showers but they were quite clean and private. The workers at the reception were friendly and polite, specially Sebastian who gave us tips for our stay and was always open to help.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in whilst travelling due to the wonderful staff and volunteers here. I completely messed up my booking and Marina and Martini quickly sorted me out! If you’re looking for a place that’s easy to reach from the airport, close to the centre and full of like-minded people who like to party, this is the place for you. A bar downstairs offers live music and late parties while the rooftop bar offers a place to hang out, chill and have a great drink. The prices are very reasonable for the overal quality.

Everything was amazing, rooms were clean, safe lockers and amazing friendly help from reception. Met some really cool people and the prices in the bar downstairs are fab ! Location was perfect too, we had the best trip here, will defo be returning.

Great location but the bar downstairs is playing music untill 2/3am. It wasn’t too bad though, maybe bring some earplugs. Nice rooms for a party hostel and very nice bathrooms. It comes with paper hand towels and soap!

Room was nice. Not clean enough imo. Great location. Nice atmosphere, but you will not get to meet lots of other travelers here as it is a smaller place. If you're looking for a quieter place which is located in a beautiful tho not extremely central street, a great place to be in.

Marih was pretty friendly and helpfull during our stay and the hostel was very good, relaxed atmosphere, quiet, clean and really comfortable. The building is a bit old, one of those big ancient ones with the inner garden, quite charming, but the floor was very noisy. Would totally recommend and stay here again. Prices are between the best (arround €10, as i remember). Really good value-for-money

Rooms were clean and neat, place was very charming, but the reception dude seemed very cold and not very talkative. Maybe he's shy or not that good with English, but it was kinda off-putting. I'd still stay there for a night; the prices were excellent.

Very clean and tidy. A working kitchen with coffee machine you can use. a dish washer where you do not need to clean the plates. They give you free chocolate and a towel too. Right next to Lidl making it easy to replenish the staples.

I stayed here for 3 nights in a 4-person dormitory room, under a bunk bed, just after the New Year. Location - 1 minute walk from M3 subway. - 1 minute walk from supermarket. - Near tourist restaurants and souvenir shops. - There are beggars and homeless people, but there are many regular people, so it's not too worrying. The experience in the hostel was amazing, the place is in a very good location of the city, nearby to the tram and the metro. The accommodation was very good, and the service very nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast. Rooms are very clean but beds are not that big if you're a tall person. Location is superb and you can directly find anything you need immediately. They have group Whatsapp for activities but I didn't try it. Breakfast is fine and tasty.

I had an excellent stay at Avenue Hostel. Everything was perfect — the atmosphere, cleanliness, and location were all great. A special thank-you to Canjina and Anna for their kindness and helpful attitude. They were always welcoming, professional, and made the experience even better. Great location, great atmosphere, great staff and great breakfast! I was able to relax on my bunker without other bunk mates bothering me, and breakfast had a variety of fresh veggie options. The only concern I had was that the plugs inside the bunks did not really work for my Type C to A plug converter, and it kept falling out multiple times. Agreed on previous reviews, the place has a feeling not a hostel for international travellers but for local long stayers, working class people. Stay here on your own risk, it's often fully booked due to an extremely low price but as a downside you'll get a bunch of loud ladies cooking their evening meals and socialising well into the night. A fully equipped kitchen is one a few bright spots though...

A hotel in the center of Budapest is a reliable choice when you are looking for a top starting point to discover this wonderful city. The hotel has beautiful and modern rooms. Rooms were great and location is fantastic. Unfortunately I had to cut my trip short due to a family emergency. I had hoped to be reimbursed for the 6 nights I had already paid for, but no luck. I feel cheated because of that. I'm sure my bed was rebooked as it's a popular hostel. I would have been satisfied with even half of what I'd paid. It will make me rethink of staying here again.

I wasn't expecting such high quality at such an affordable price, I'm still very surprised... The rooms are very clean, customer satisfaction is a priority... I would come back here. It is nice and clean, and super central. Walking distance for most tourist attractions, coffe shops, restaurants and stores. I even had my room all to myself, even though i bought a 4 person room. The only reason i am giving 4/5 atarts is because of the kitchen, it does not have a stove or oven, only microwave and waterboiler.

Really worth staying here! The location is super convenient, close to the tram for tourist spots, just a 4-minute walk to the bus stop, and near the metro too. The building is old, but they keep it really clean, and you can tell they put effort into maintaining it. The staff are amazing and always try to help with whatever I need. Keep up the good work!

My husband and I had a comfortable stay at MP Hostel in a twin room (301). It was quiet and had its own shower, toilet & bar fridge. The hostel itself is well-run as the front desk staff we spoke with are all efficient and friendly (and speak English). The only downside we experienced is that the kitchen area only has microwaves and kettles as cooking options – there is no hob/stovetop for guest usage...

Excellent location and just a few steps away from Astoria subway station (the bus to and from the aiport passes right by it). Judi is an outstanding manager and she will give you great tips on places to see and things to do in this great city.

I could stay here so comfortable.The hotel owner and her partner were very very helpful and kindness. They taught me Budapest sightseeing even though I send rude emails and I couldn’t speak English very well. It’s my first time to stay the hotel which like airb. The wall of these rooms was thin.I could hear noises from next room and also I made noises too. That is the only point of concern.

The location is absolutely superb. That's all. After staying 4 days I still could not manage how to open all doors, so complicated it was (use of key, pin or chip). My room had a heavy humidity problem. No hangers for coats or for towels. We were fighting for the heaters to put our towels on it.

We stayed in an apartment with private bathroom. Cool building with more charm than a typical hotel and the service was good, and check in at 12 is nice. Room was fun and quirky. If you're looking for something spotlessly clean, you may want to look elsewhere but we enjoyed it. Location is good too.

Great atmosphere, big spaces, around 15 min walk from the core of the city centre. Beds are enclosed in single boxes with own window, courtain, plug and lamp. That was very handy and helps with privacy. The entrance of the building is not so pleasant but inside the hostel is quite nice

Island hostel Budapest is surrounded by lovely green parks. The terrace of hostel is lovely place to sit and listen to spring birds singing. Hostel is clean and comfy beds, good security and helpful staff. You have to walk 10 minutes to get a tram.

It was clean no doubt. Till the evening it was pretty alright. At night from 10 to around 12.30 some guests were partying (probably a group of students), anyways that is understandable...it is Budapest after all. Overall a nice stay, the neighborhood is good, close to everything. You can easily walk from there to the bus stop from where you get the airport bus.

Nice place for a few days in Budapest not far from the center. There are two toilets: one is tiny another is good. The shower is just 1 sq meter room. The bed is comfortable. Kitchen with two big fridges and enough space. Lockers are wooden and the backplate is a bit open. That's a strange feeling that someone has put there more than it could hold. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice hostel. Rooms and facilities were nice enough. A little dingy - one of the toilets smelt of pee. Staff were good enough but didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome - bare minimum really. However, location is great if you're looking to go out clubbing a lot and in a really cheap area to purchase food. Good enough for the price we paid.

For the price (€7/night) this hostel is AMAZING. The rooms are very nice for a hostel, each bed has it's own reading light, shelf, plug socket and locker. In the room there was a fan, a desk, an ensuite and an extra sink in the room. The ensuite was lovely and very clean. Kitchen and common are available but I didn't use them. The staff were ok but not that great, not very happy to help, seemed annoyed...
