Royal Beach Eilat by Isrotel Exclusive

The response was edited from 3 stars and dropped to 1 star!!! Simply shocking, no response from the front desk, no room service, except for drinks and a fruit platter. No response when calling, just sad and disappointing. The lobby restaurant closes early. We arrived on a couple's vacation. We tried to coordinate things in advance for the sake of comfort and staying at the hotel. We were not considered at all. We arrived in the evening after check-in, we contacted the call center/reception several times to get help with the room location. The staff was not attentive and considerate, we informed them that a representative was supposed to get back to us in the next few minutes and that the matter would actually be resolved after over two hours of waiting for a call. The beginning of a vacation with not the best energies, solely due to the hotel's service. Not typical of the Isrotel chain. Hope this is a one-off event. In terms of food and room cleanliness, everything was excellent. A large selection of good quality food. There is a problem with parking in the area. The hotel offers a small number of parking spaces. Please note that parking around the hotel costs money. Visiting family in Israel after a year and half. Promoted the hotel as a favored family vacation get together spot We arrived one day before all. Check in lady forgot to take credit card info for incidentals which resulted in a few uncomfortable incidents until I took the time to correct her wrongdoing (during dinner) with another receptionist. A customer stopped one of the cooks during what was a busy buffet dinner service which ended up in an open end discussion that blocked service around. Cook, Har’el - buffet manager no less - responded with attitude (AKA - rude). And then some, Buffet dinner is cramped up to 6-8:30pm by management which creates a war-zone style pace of what is supposed to be dinner. Been here for less than a day and wishing I didn’t choose this place for a family gathering.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights on the weekend, booked a premium room for a regular (high) price. The room, the hotel and most of the facilities were really good and matched our expectations.

A small issue we had at check-in was the fact that the hotel parking was under refurbishment and there was not parking space available, although it was always described as a facility the hotel offers. The hotel instead sent us to search for public parking in the city (not an easy task in this very crowded area), while they provided with parking tickets for our stay (which we had to replace every day).

However, that wasn't a big issue at this point. The main thing was that during our stay the beach adjacent to the hotel hosted an international sports championship, which resulted in a lot of loud music and live coverage which was heard in our room starting in the mornings and through the entirety of the day, not allowing at all the peace of mind we expected to get at such an exclusive hotel, not to mention the ability to rest or enjoy a nap.
The hotel never mentioned this event, although it took place in an adjacent beach which the hotel maintains and they obviously knew about. When we asked about it at reception on the first day, they told us that they will see whether something can be done, perhaps replacing our room, they never got back to us with that.

When we actively contacted them and after a few phone calls and conversations, they only offered their regular "unsatisfactory refund" or a more major discount on future stays at the hotel, which we never planned to return to anyways since we very rarely stay in the area and never in such fancy hotels. All in all we got a very small refund (less than 10% of our stay) and a very mediocre experience from a very high rated hotel.

Will not return and will never recommend since we believe good customer service is more important than rooms or facilities - good service can compensate for bad facilities, but bad service can ruin even the best of rooms and most luxurious of hotels, and unfortunately this is exactly the kind of experience we had.
